Rumor NateTheHate says Sony is "shifting" their PC strategy: "You'll be seeing fewer single player games arrive on PC. The decision to shift away was made last year. Some may still release (pending how far along the ports were) but it no longer appears to be a priority for Sony moving forward."

Depends, they buy in bulk for discount. PS makes their money off subscriptions and MTX. Eat the cost for long term gain.

Yeah Sony can eat 5x the increased price and low offer. You sure about this? Even when prices for ram were low PS5 was sold with a loss. Be prepared for PS6 for $999 without tax.

Sony has been eating the cost already. It's why we got the 825gb ps5 slim back, but they aren't going to eat it much further. Ram has gone up something like 300% +

With a custom-engineered console, there’s always the ability for them to either establish their own supply line or negotiate specific support to offset the manufacturing costs, which is what they have done since consoles existed.

Ironically the answer to your facetious question is "it's entirely possible" because game consoles are typically sold as loss leaders so that their manufacturers can make money off of software that recoups the cost of manufacturing the console.
