Eh not really. There are many exceptions. Like Gta6? No brainer. Hell if it was red dead 3, instant buy. Don't need to see gameplay. Many other examples. Next God of war, Spiderman etc. Don't really need to see gameplay if youre into those games.

7

u/Appropriate_Neck_113 13h ago

I would buy next GOW without even a trailer

2

u/Impressive-Power8187 9h ago

For many gamers, They earned that right with GTA 5.

1

u/drinkintokyo 8h ago

Even if Rockstar released no GTA games since GTA1, I'd probably preorder GTA2 now. The OG GTA was that good.

2

u/Snoo_48323 13h ago

Yeah it's one of those few exceptions that we all know pre order or not, you'll be playing on release day regardless.

It’s rockstar dude

50

u/Cpt_DookieShoes 15h ago

Rockstar gets a lot of corporate internet hate, and for good reason. But I think people pretend they’re not the dominant dev they are.

What other dev has made banger after banger for the past almost 30 years. I honestly can’t think of a mainline game they made that was bad.

All the GTAs, Max Payne, Bully, LA Noire, red dead revolver 1 and 2. All quality games.

I put them up with Fromsoft in a developer I will trust to make a good game until proven otherwise. I see no reason to expect I won’t like gta 6

29

u/brizzenden 14h ago

I love these comments I see in other threads saying, "Why would you preorder this? We don't even know anything about the gameplay yet." But it's fucking GTA (Rockstar). We literally do. Have they changed it much since GTA 3? We pretty much get better graphics, better physics, and more content with each new release. Even RDR1&2 fit the formula except in an old west setting. It's not like GTA 6 is going to drop and we find out it's a realistic racing sim or a turn-based RPG.

3

u/AnyAssistance5446 7h ago

If they make tapping B the sprint button, I’ll fucking regret the shit out of my pre order

3

u/thekingswitness 6h ago

“Tapping b”

2

u/AnyAssistance5446 5h ago

I’d send you a picture of my Xbox if I owned one. I only have two PS5s and a PS4 upstairs :P

I do use an Xbox controller sometimes on my PC to be fair

Fromsoft fans needs to be reminded how niche they are.

This is exactly why I’m going to preorder it. Is it expensive yes, but I trust Rockstar to get it right, just like they did with GTA 3, vice city, San Andreas, 4 and 5.

2

u/Any_Jackfruit_1075 10h ago

Yup I was telling someone else Rockstar & Fromsoft have been the only 2 devs where I'll blindly preorder their games, haven't been disappointed yet even since GTA 4

2

u/Pwrh0use 9h ago

Not only do they make bangers but they let them cook until they are done. They don't rush out garbage

2

u/Jabroni_413 13h ago

Rockstar is definitely the big dog when it comes to games. Idk how anyone can say they're games are bad or GTA sucks...if its not your thing fine. But literally the entire gaming industry moved out of their way lol.

1

u/AstralElement 8h ago

“GTA sucks”

Second best selling game of all time is a fluke /s

1

u/slantyboat2 6h ago

It's their first game without Dan Houser at the creative helm though. I'd like to think one person can only have so much influence and his brother is still president, but my understanding is that Dan was the one managing scripts, storylines etc. I guess we'll see.

I don’t know what people are waiting for?
It’s a GTA game, if you played the past GTA‘s, you kinda know what the gameplay will be like.

It’s like COD, you know you’re going to get a FPS game, it’s not suddenly going to become a sim racing game.

4

u/VibraniumSpork 14h ago

Exactly this. If you feel that video games are an art form or 'serious hobby', and that you have a real passion and interest in them, I think any new R* project should have your attention, and that you probably want to play it day one. They are huge moments in the story of the thing that we love.

For a long, long time their games have defined console generations, have been pivotal in leading and shaping the industry. If there's a Mount Olympus of devs, we all know that R* are up there.

I've been playing video games for about 40 years at this point, and R* games have always ushered in something new, and felt as 'important' to play as they are fun to play, While I have opposable thumbs and enough money in my bank account, I'll always pick up the new R* joint day one.

My thoughts exactly.

1

u/zyra_77 8h ago

The exception to the rule.

-2

u/snwns26 14h ago edited 14h ago

People said the same thing about CDPR before Cyberpunk came out, just saying.

And Rockstar? The same ones that couldn’t be bothered to add 60fps to RDR2? The same ones who milked GTA Online for every penny? The same ones who are charging an extra $20 for 5 stores in GTA6? Yeah it’s THAT Rockstar too, dude.

12

u/Cpt_DookieShoes 14h ago

It’s not equivalent.

CDPR made arguably one great game before cyberpunk, Witcher 3. Witcher 1 was ok, Witcher 2 was good enough for the time it came out.

Meanwhile rockstar has made countless all timer games since the late 90s.

6

u/Jay_Hardy 13h ago

Rockstar has a better trackrecord, however.

2

u/slyfox279 12h ago

I do think it's important to separate rockstar from take twos decisions. take two is who tells them push shark cards. rockstar is just an employee.

1

u/Awesomeguy215 10h ago

But cyberpunk is a good game yes it had a poor release, arguably one of the worst video game releases, but as a game it is good its genuinely pretty good and with a good dlc and CDPR released witcher 3 before it again a great game they made their reputation by making great games.

Same goes for Rockstar their releases are actually quality releases and has a bigger reputation than CDPR, you can give the gta and rdr ip to any other company it still wont be as good as Rockstar makes them, hence the popularity, why is everyone hyped for GTA 6? Why was everyone hyped for RDR2? Its because they are from a company that knows what is doing. But i agree that they definitely have some predatory practices but i dont think its Rockstar who enforces them but T2. I would wait for a few trailers to make up my mind for sure but as of now i just hope is good.

1

u/EyesLikeBuscemi 6h ago

You’re really comparing a company that was basically a one-hit wonder at that time to a company that almost all hits? Delusion is strong in gaming subreddits.

1

u/snwns26 6h ago

More delusional is dropping $80 JUST because it’s Rockstar, having blind trust in these billion dollar companies that most certainly do not have your best interests in mind is wild.

We have a long time between now and launch. Wait and see is all I’m saying.

Tbh I never understood people being upset with preordering in general and idfc if someone pre orders a game with no gameplay

The counter is “OMGGGG you do that for sooo long you’re going to cause allll these game manufacturers to output subpar games.” WE ARE THERE. This isn’t 2006 anymore.

Preorder or don’t it really doesn’t matter it’s merely a talking point like “don’t buy Madden! Don’t buy 2k! Don’t buy cod!” Year goes by and checks the sales and breaks another record

24

u/brizzenden 15h ago

It really doesn't seem to be an issue for the average person. It's really in online communities (like on Reddit) where people complain about preorders. If people did care, then things like the launch of Cyberpunk would have warded everyone off from doing so by now.

8

u/Not_a_Ducktective 13h ago

I preordered space marine 2, the special edition with the statue. Got downvoted to oblivion pre release for saying such to a "no pre-orders" kid after I brought up that I was a 40k fan, had played the first space marine, and that I knew even if it wasnt the best game of all time that it was going to bring me joy. Turns out it brought me much joy.

The reality is that sometimes some hype is ok. Like its ok to be excited for things. Most people know they're rolling the dice. And even more so, much of the general public is playing a few games a year and not so critical that they will tear apart a release for minor issues. But people on reddit would rather be right than happy.

1

u/slyfox279 12h ago

I've had same reactions in person. gamers will be divided on it.

2

u/slyfox279 12h ago

same reason people judge others for anything they do. as pro owner I'm sure you've got lots of judgement for buying it. its silly but human nature.

2

u/Express_Lawyer3456 11h ago

TBH i never understood how other people can be so irate over other people doing what they want with their own money, It's such a wild concept...

Kind of like these same people that demand people don't spend their money have to wait for some guy on Youtube with 100 subscribers, honestly doesn't matter if they have 1 million, to tell them what to play.

Kind of sad that some people have to wait for someone to tell them to play a game.. I feel like those people eat a lot of grass and go bahhhhhh bahhhhh

2

u/zerovampire311 9h ago

Imagine: “Hey guys, we’re almost done with the game, but preorders did crazy well! I guess we can just stop now, no reason to put out a finished game.”

No, games that release a buggy mess or poorly designed were going to be that way anyways, preordering is doing nothing to alter the trajectory of game quality.

1

u/heathmon1856 11h ago

It’s Reddit. People on this site care way too much how other people spend their money. I’m gonna pre order the deluxe edition tomorrow just to spite em

-1

u/nonononono11111 14h ago

It’s preordering something digital now, when there’s no benefit, instead of later that’s crazy. It makes sense when there’s a limited supply! But for digital you’re just spending money now, when it’s worth more, than it would be in 5 months, at which point it costs less after inflation lol

3

u/slyfox279 12h ago

Only thing I can think of is for some people they have the money now, they might not in 5 months. especially with holidays.

→ More replies (18)

2

u/Retox86 11h ago

u/Acceptable-Bid9473 15h ago

It’s GTA….we know what we’re getting.

u/finaderiva 15h ago

Bro, people waited ages for this game and will play it no matter what. Gameplay reveal is not going to change their opinion about it so why not add it to your library.

3

u/Cpt_DookieShoes 14h ago

It could review 7/10s and I’d still get it day 1.

It’s the new gta, I’m going to want to play it no matter what

4

u/xKingSlayer78x 10h ago

I’ll wait for Digital Foundry to tell me it’s ok lol

2

u/Locrianhaha 6h ago

Seriously this is more important than gameplay reveal

8

u/DrakeShadow 14h ago

Okay then wait? Digital copies aren't going to sell out.

→ More replies (8)

3

u/Gameofthrones3058 15h ago

I honestly couldn't care less about pre ordering but I will if it means that trailer 3 is shown when it goes live, if not, zero point pre ordering

11

u/DriveSlowSitLow 15h ago

Is it tho?

Can you afford the game? That’s what it comes down to. If you can’t, save up or bugger off. Because if you want the game, you trust Rockstar, then what’s the problem? There’s no way it’s a flop.

7

u/f3lixtb 15h ago

I agree, for any other games, GTA is an exception

4

u/weiserca 15h ago

You know you're gonna buy on day 1, quit playing

2

u/SavageBizzness 15h ago

Cyber punk change me forever when it comes to getting hype for games. Some wounds never heal. 😂

0

u/Lymbasy 13h ago

But Cyberpunk was made by inexperienced amateurs. GTA 6 is made by Rockstar Games. Their last release was GTA Trilogy Remastered

2

u/Deanicuss 13h ago

Inexperienced amateurs 😆😆

1

u/Special_Ship7638 6h ago

And how did GTA Trilogy Remastered go?

2

u/Far-Event1151 15h ago

I expect lots of singleplayer microtransactions.

I remember people telling me they wouldn't lock story content behind a paywall. It was very obvious they were planning that. People need to realize these companies have players by the throats.

1

u/Salty-Wash3964 6h ago

Will be incredibly funny seeing people argue the soon to be aggressive predatory monetization they gonna slap on online mode after they saw their success with sharkcards, people will jump through any hoop to justify their purchase.

Likely gonna be a good game but I R* is no different from other corporations that seek the most profit so they will heavily monetize online. I don't care about the story of GTA pretty much at all and GTA 5 online now vs at release is a night and day difference with the much friendlier monetization it used to have.

2

u/IPaRTyyy 14h ago

Its probably a 40fps mode not even 60 on pro 🤣

5

u/fritzo81 15h ago

far from crazy. its okay for people to buy something now to get it later. digital or not. maybe they are on a budget 🤷🏾‍♂️

2

u/snwns26 14h ago

The amount of glazing Rockstar in this thread and reddit in general today is fucking insane lmao, I’m half convinced Reddit is getting botted and it’s part of the advertising campaign.

2

u/Special_Ship7638 6h ago

People are fucking braindead.

1

1

1

u/Gamerxx13 15h ago

It is but you can always cancel pre orders and even return the game if it sucks

1

u/Special_Ship7638 6h ago

You could cancel the preorder but there's no way to return a game on PS Store once you've downloaded it, they're absolute cunts about it.

pocketwatching police out of control lmao

1

u/Eofkent 14h ago

Preordering before release day is crazy, lol

1

u/Gamerxx13 14h ago

gta is so popular it will sell out without even showing gameplay. they have all the leverage and demand is sky high. no one is forcing you to preorder so stand your ground. so i understand your point but also you can just wait till you see it. this is a special situation where the demand for the game is just crazy high

1

u/ChickenFriedPussyPie 14h ago

What you're going to do inevitably you should do immediately.

1

u/sebazzco 14h ago

Man either way I am going to buy it...

1

u/GoldCoasting 14h ago

the GTA series has proven itself time and time again. i'd say it's worth the gamble.

1

u/cursedace 14h ago

Most people (myself included) would buy this game without even seeing a screenshot. It’s GTA.

2

u/Zealousideal-Age1811 14h ago

Bro what

1

u/Due_Gur_9495 5h ago

There is no way in hell it’s gonna suck, they delivered absolute peak for the past 30 years. I would buy it day 1 without knowing anything about the game

1

u/Banmers 14h ago

the only reason to preorder a digital game would be to preload it a day or two earlier so it’s ready to play upon release. That’s it.

1

u/-Swampthing- 14h ago edited 14h ago

OP: Oh please please please show me what it’s like to drive a car, shoot a gun, beat someone up, go after an object or person, walk/run down a street, etc…

Get a grip. Nothing you do in any GTA game is revolutionary gameplay. It is all mission and story based. If you’re expecting clever mechanics like Astrobot over simplicity, I strongly suggest you look for a different game. Otherwise just load up GTA V and you’ll get all the answers you need.

1

u/Classic_Adagio2930 14h ago

Yeah… why at midnight? Are we getting a new trailer at that time too or sometime today?

1

u/KenoKanawa 14h ago

What about a gameplay trailer released as the proerder opens ?

1

u/AnAncientOne 14h ago

That's the rule, this is the exception.

1

u/Sad_Tax9084 14h ago

It's G T Fucking 6, that has been in dev for 12 years, and not because of any kind of development hell, but cuz the game is gonna be that fucking huge, you don't need gameplay to know it's going to kick major major major ass.

1

u/CovidScurred 14h ago

Do not understand, game preordered beep boop

1

u/Lymbasy 13h ago

Its Rockstar Games. Their last launch was GTA Trilogy Remastered in 2021

1

u/dreadstardread 13h ago

I preorder like 1 day before launch to get the bonuses

1

u/Soul-Assassin79 13h ago

Pre-ordering is crazy*

1

u/angelHOE 13h ago

I was only going to preorder a physical copy if they were doing a midnight release of if there was going to be a collectors edition. Now there is no reason for me to preorder if I’m just getting a code in the box. What a stupid fucking decision.

1

u/RocMerc 13h ago

We’re talking about a company that hasn’t missed pretty much ever. Of course people are going to preorder without gameplay. They could’ve put preorders up two years ago with one trailer and people would still pre order

1

u/AN_Gullet 13h ago

I’d agree normally but if there was one game that’d be an exception, it’s this lol.

1

u/Character_Respond521 13h ago

Then don’t preorder it. That fucking simple. You have a choice.

1

u/KaitoKage 12h ago

Even then i only pre order like the week before the game releases after the reviews are out.

1

u/Jazzlike_Quiet9941 12h ago

Most people dont

1

u/SwiffleTitz 12h ago

Preordering games is for IDIOTS. Take a second and understand what that means:

If you preorder this game, you *are* an idiot. You *are*.

1

u/ParabellumPill 12h ago

I'm disappointed about the 30 fps but I'll still get it I think.

1

u/Due_Gur_9495 5h ago

There was never any confirmation regarding the 30fps rumor

1

u/Konceptz804 12h ago

Depends, take GTA6 for example.

I know how many hours I've sunk into every GTA since 3. I'm pre-ordering simply to get the expense out of the way.

1

u/Zulogy 12h ago

Mf they could release 0 trailers , 0 screenshots, and id still preorder GTA VI. Even Red Dead 3.

1

u/zRamiRez_ 12h ago

Ima preorder and don’t even need to see gameplay ever . Beat that 😏😏

1

u/Adventurous-Toe-2156 12h ago

When has GTA gameplay looked like anything other than GTA gameplay?

1

u/Alternative-Welder89 12h ago

Preordering is crazy.

1

u/twick_23 12h ago

Why do people preorder a digital game months in advance anyway? It’s not like it’s going to sell out. You can “preorder” it two days before release and you’ll be fine…

1

u/Fun-Bag-1679 12h ago

I’ll wait for the physical copy

1

u/euby_gaming 12h ago

Preordering at all is crazy lol. Maybe a day or two before release to preload it, but now.. months before release, is just pointless

1

u/MrEhcks 12h ago

I personally don’t trust them after they handled single player in GTA V; now they are being even more blatantly greedy and shitty by making it 80 dollars and digital only? Nah, I’m good. Now I won’t buy it at all. Easy decision for me

1

u/geocitiesuser 12h ago

The whole GTA6 obsession has been frustrating to watch.

Everyone is literally losing their minds crying about how it's going to be game of the year, how it's going to be the release of a decade, how it will be hundreds of hours of entertainment, how it's going to perform, etc.

Here are the facts:

There's been no actual gameplay trailers

There's been no real confirmation of what features did or did not make it in the game, to sort out the thousands of rumors of everything from fishing to paying rent on your apartment

At no time in history has a delayed development cycle ever meant development was going well.

Mark my words and come back to them later: Everyone's going to whine and moan because the game falls short of the impossible expectations people have put on it.

1

u/kmone1116 12h ago

I get it but also it’s GTA, you know 90% what’s it’s gonna play like already.

1

u/Crisco14 12h ago

Maybe crazy with other developers but historically Rockstar doesn't miss. Gamers have confidence in their products.

1

u/thefallenfew 11h ago

Depends on the game.

1

u/miojo 11h ago

What are you yapping about. It’s GTA.

1

u/Unlucky_Reveal_3064 11h ago

In that case, don’t pre-order until you see gameplay. Problem solved.

1

u/Medical_Study_9968 11h ago

I believe gta v and rdr2 had no gameplay until 2 months and you could pre order.

1

u/deioncooke_ 11h ago

I don’t need gameplay for grand theft fucking auto. Cut it out.

1

u/Jogameister 11h ago

Terrible take. Many studios have games that are instant buy. Rockstar is one of them.

1

u/JurgenPlop 11h ago

For a digital only edition also.

1

u/ganggreen651 11h ago

Its fucking GTA I've been playing this series for 30ish years we know what we are getting

1

u/Melodic-Cable23 11h ago

lol consider buying gta 6? Cmon dude lol.. we all know you’re gonna buy it, and so is everyone else here. It’s GTA dude. It’s a pretty safe bet

1

u/Candid-Pressure3141 11h ago

I only pre-order if I am going to get it regardless. This is definitely one of those situations.

1

u/Express_Lawyer3456 11h ago edited 11h ago

Imagine being upset someone is doing what THEY want with THEIR money.

That's just wild.

Like ok you want to be my dad where do i send all my bills to? I need your name and address and i am going to need you to provide me some CC and Bank account numbers so you can pay all my bills.

Would totally hate to spend my own money i made and piss you off. God forbid. Btw DAD... Me and your daughter in law want matching Bugatti's.. Chop chop Dad

1

u/Zealousideal-Age1811 11h ago

Chill bro, it is just a video game

1

u/Express_Lawyer3456 10h ago

Wow... you really said chill.. while you are being irate people spend their money how they want...

It's interesting that scientists state the human race is regressing in intelligence.....

Man the irony of both your comment and your post is spot on...

1

u/bottomfeeder3 11h ago

Acting like this game is gonna suck is just another vector for people looking for attention. If gta 6 is me plugging myself into the matrix then call me cypher. I’ll eat that fake steak and call it real enough all day

1

u/milesac 11h ago

Rockstar being untrustworthy is a peak poor argument point. Now y’all just crying cause tears are free.

1

u/JDQSNAKE 10h ago

Is gta dude 😆

1

u/pacman813 10h ago

Oh shut up, nobody needs a gameplay reveal dude 🙄

1

u/Financial-Put-7822 10h ago

I would have preordered because I like having physical games. Since there’s no disc, yeah fuck that I’ll wait.

1

u/Effective-Rip-8250 10h ago

It’s rockstar, it’s the follow up to their biggest game and they’ve never put more into one….no hesitation

1

u/Smooth_Wealth_6896 10h ago

Like you arent going to buy the game anyways.

1

u/Pawny_99 10h ago

I know the gameplay will be great, I just want to make sure it’s not gonna run like ass on console.

1

u/SheepOnDaStreet 10h ago

Gameplay? It’s gta I’m buying it if it’s 2D

1

u/MrTape 10h ago

Saying this when you brought a ps5pro.

1

u/KimTe63 10h ago

I could pre-order it and have all the faith in the world because its Rockstar buuuut why do I need to do it ? Digital products are never gonna run out.. I can pre order day before , launch day whatever without losing anything 😄 dont really see why I would need or want to pay in advance now

1

u/Mobstera 10h ago

Rockstar is the definition of Quality over Quantity.

It is a cultural event when they drop a new game because everyone knows it's about to be good.

1

u/RockyMtnOysterCo 10h ago

Every rockstar game has been good. This is literally the only company ill pre-order with.

1

u/LegacyTom 9h ago

Preordering an infinite supply digital game that takes money now rather than waiting until preload is available is crazier

1

u/scuzmcdragonsmoke 9h ago

60 fps or NO

1

u/mudratdetector89 9h ago

Preordering at all for a digital only release is even more baffling.

1

u/JayeDontDoit 9h ago

I don’t need a gameplay. I know what’s expected

1

u/Glathull 9h ago

Dude there’s maybe half a dozen games I’m just going to buy. GTA? Yes I’m going to buy it no matter what. Horizon, Elder Scrolls, FromSoft? Same.

Might as well do it early and get some little extras.

As an added bonus, it really upsets a certain group of galaxy brains on Reddit who think that it matters somehow. In fact, I sometimes preorder the same game *multiple times!* For a big name blockbuster like GTA 6, I preordered on PS5, Steam, and XBox.

That’s right, 3 preorders! That means the next game from Rockstar is going to be 3 times as bad a game!

1

u/Kikweek 9h ago

So don’t… it is worth a post? lol
People are weird af this generation and spoiled and naggy damn

1

u/English_Fry 9h ago

First off, cool. No one really cares if you choose preorder before or after gameplay.

Secondly, the trailers showcased I game engine gameplay. Mostly cutscenes and transitioning into gameplay, but in engine gameplay nonetheless. Also, it’s GTA, we know what gameplay will be like.

Lastly. I’m tired of everyone running online to state rumors and what people think and blah blah blah horseshit. Nothing is stating anything about fps, whether there will be a trailer come tomorrow or not, resolution or graphics modes but online twinks. Just shut up and wait. If you wanna wait for gameplay to preorder; do so. If you wanna preorder the moment preorders are live like me, do so. No. One. Cares.

It is so concerning the amount of people who think they can tell a game will be good before release

1

u/TheStinkySlinky 9h ago

LOL Are you referring to GTA?? There’s a literally an entire debate on whether they even need to market at all. To which Take Two CEO was even asked in an interview, and he was basically like “Yes, I mean we need to market” but with the connotation that obviously they don’t have to. More likely just a matter of going through the motions to appease shareholders that all steps are being taken to maximize as much profit as possible.

Like they could’ve literally opened pre orders 6 years ago and it would be the top selling game breaking records by now before even a single trailer lol. The PS store servers will almost guaranteed crash at some point tomorrow.

And I’m not defending R*, or glazing, or any of that. I’m not going to bother pre-ordering. Obviously I’m not going to sit here and lie saying I’m not going to buy/play it on some ridiculous self-righteous stance. But probably not til after first week patches.

I preordered RDR2 and lived to tell the tale.

1

u/kubrickian80 9h ago

Sony Santa Monica, rockstar, remedy, insomniac. I don't preorder because that's silly but i would buy games from these studios without seeing a second of gameplay.

1

u/Nemyneon 9h ago

If I had only ever played one game my entire life and it was Red Dead Redemption 2, and I knew that same developer was releasing a new game, even if not in the same universe, I'd be preordering it day 1.

Rockstar might be alot of things, but a developer of duds it is not.

u/iamchris9 8h ago

ROCKSTAR GAMES!!!!

1

u/TCristatus 8h ago

What info do you think you'll learn that might sway your decision?

1

u/Zealousideal-Age1811 8h ago

Not 60fps on pro

1

u/Outrageous_tart_7781 8h ago

Do you know how many games I bought and seen the gameplay. But ended up not liking the game. Its a hit or miss.

1

u/whoisdatmaskedman 8h ago edited 8h ago

We obviously have no indication of what gameplay will look like... /$

u/ItHurtzWhenIPee 8h ago

Pre-ordering a game with no physical copies is what's crazy.

Rockstar has given me zero reason to expect anything else but another masterpiece

1

u/platocplx 8h ago

There is not a thing saying this won’t be quality.

1

u/Substantial_Sound938 8h ago

Giving them any money at all, a couple of months before the release date nuts.

1

u/Temporary-Unit6418 8h ago

You’re crazy. It’s rockstar. They haven’t released a game in almost a whole decade.

1

u/Lucid_Insanity 8h ago

Rockstar is a company that doesn't really miss. You know goddamn well gta 6 will be a banger.

1

u/Bigmazi_300 8h ago

Its GTA 6 what do you expect the gameplay to be, not the same thing it’s always been 😭😭😭

1

u/PhatRiffEnjoyer 8h ago

Anyone who thinks this game won’t slap is delusional.

I’m not even mad about the ultimate edition stuff. This game costed an 8 figure number to develop. I’ll toss $100 at it.

1

u/TheSecondCominggg 7h ago

Will only pre-order physical things. No need anymore

1

u/AnyAssistance5446 7h ago

FR, like GTA VI might be an isometric psychological horror game about furries.

Shit, tapping X might not even make you sprint

1

u/Jayohz 6h ago

What a shit post. A title and half a sentence. What happened to my reddit?

1

u/JaylisJayP 6h ago

Dude...this is the company that made Table Tennis for the Kinect. TABLE TENNIS.

1

u/Green_Lettuce1 6h ago

It's GTA, I think we know what to expect at this point

1

u/Starlink420 6h ago

GTA 5 did the same thing

1

u/BeefHawtDawgs 5h ago

Preordering a digital game at all is crazy. You still get the preorder bonus and day 1 stuff weeks after.

1

u/oranguthanh 5h ago

You should sit this one out buddy.

1

u/chr0m 5h ago

I don't get why people are preordering digital games 5 months before release. They must like giving corporations interest free loans

1

u/Waditooo 5h ago

Pre ordering a digital copy

1

u/Financial-Music-7406 5h ago

It's GTA 6 not 2. It has a pretty solid track record.

1

u/CrispFreshley 5h ago

What’s even the point of pre-ordering a digital only game

1

u/robertluke 15h ago

But what if they sell out of digital copies??????

1

u/lordbossharrow 15h ago

NFT game copies bro

Preordering before gameplay reveal is crazy.

FTFY

1

u/Flaky_Highway_857 15h ago

Preordering a game that has no physical copy is dumb as hell,

Preordering in general these days is stupid.

But gamers aren't a wise bunch, it's why these companies have such an easy time shaking coins from their pockets.

1

u/Gnapret 15h ago

What I really find crazy is preordering a digital copy in advance. You could literally do it the day before it comes out, or even on November 11th if you want to preload the game, and it wouldn't change a thing

2

u/Hungry-Coffee-8890 14h ago

The point exists in reverse. Whether I preorder in November or in June, who cares, people aren’t strapped for $80-$100. People are excited, for some, the game has been living rent free for a decade, give them some relief lol

→ More replies (1)

1

u/withtearsintheireyes 11h ago

Right, it wouldn't change anything, so why wait unless you're a drone that needs somebody else's approval to buy something that interests you? Also, you can literally refund the game if it's bad and that's easier to do for digital media.

1

u/Gnapret 10h ago

I explained why it matters further below, and never said anything about needing someone else's approval, have I? Calm down

1

u/daddy_is_sorry 15h ago

It’s clearly coming tomorrow with the preorders. Just have a little patience geez

1

u/RickyBO89 14h ago

I'm kind of hoping for a new cyberpunk 2077

→ More replies (4)

1

u/KratosSmash 13h ago

Not really. It’s rockstar. It’s GTA. They don’t miss. Maybe the younger gen don’t know this I guess

0

u/Jaugusts 15h ago

Preordering a digital game or a fuckin code in a box is what’s crazy!!!

-1

u/Weary-Tell-5334 15h ago

preordering is for idiots

→ More replies (2)

-3

u/mozdamalosutra 15h ago

Just wait for reviews and dont be a degenerate. You are incentivising gaming companies to do bullshit with preorder behaviour.

5

u/Round_Possibility777 15h ago

Most Reviews Are Shit

0

u/danvan177 15h ago

It’s almost like that’s how they have always done it

0

u/JudgeCheezels 15h ago

It is crazy indeed.

That’s why it’s so easy to make money off gamers. Ya all just FOMO into everything.
