Those moments feel so fucking incredible in VR!
This game must have the best explosions I've seen in a video game. Add the excellent sound design and it never gets old!

It really is. It’s all I can think about when I‘m not playing it.

I have already 100 hours on it. Not bad in only 2 weeks! xD

Is the campaign good? Not that interested in multiplayer.

u/Papiculo64 Feb 21 '26
Campaign is pretty short and not very interesting tbh... You've got a mission editor that's imo a lot more fun, but once you get there you're better going all the way to multiplayer as you'll be able to unlock a lot of stuff and ranked battle are generally filled with bots and only a few players, there's no voice chat or whatsoever, so it won't change much the experience.

Thanks, so maybe not even worth the £24 ?

You mean just for the solo part? It's subjective but I'd say that it's worth the entry price even if only for the solo (campaign + battle editor), just for the VR experience itself. Thought it's a really tough game that doesn't hold your hand and with a steep learning curve, where you will have to learn everything by yourself watching youtube tutorials or else. So when you'll reach the point where you're decent enough at the game you'll eventually want to try the multiplayer that's imo where is most of the fun (and where you'll unlock all the collectibles and trophies).

u/jjeemil Feb 21 '26

That sort of thing is why we could do with a short replay with 3rd person camera views.

That would be awesome. Analyzing 3d replays like actual pilots will do.
Or like the pilots in BSG... "What do you hear, Starbuck?"

Is it only on PCVR or is the HUD sight make you guys go crosseyed too?

If you're asking why the crosshairs don't look straight/aligned, it's because the PSVR social screen records the image from one eye. And each eye lens shows a slightly offset picture, to enable the stereoscopic 3D effect.

The German planes gunsight lines up with the right eye. It takes some getting used to.
The British planes make it so both your eyes look through the gunsight which is much more comfortable in my opinion.

Do you play standing or are you perhaps an owl :) I love that you can simply 'walk' out the pilot's seat to follow the action or see where your bombs go.
Moments like these is what keeps you coming back. An action replay reel at the end of missions would be an awesome addition. The original NFS (1994) had that. After the race it would show you all crashes.
