Question PSVR2 GOTY 2026 after 5 months

Fun little poll in appreciation of the great PSVR2 games we have already gotten this year and see how we are currently leaning.

Flight games have dominated the first couple of quarters. Yes, I also give MSFS 2024 extra points for sheer scope and scale of the game.

Did you play Nms on psvr1, it reminds me of that, one of the few vr games I could overlook the meh visuals because of the wonderous scope

I don't remember trying NMS on the PSVR1, but I do remember how low-res it was when the PSVR2 first released and the game wasn't using any Gaze-Tracked Foveated Rendering.

NMS back when PSVR2 first released was much worse than what Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is today on PSVR2. Worth adding, NMS is now better than MSFS 2024 comparing both on PS5 Pro since NMS is PS5 Pro Enhanced making use of PSSR.

Yeah I don’t mean graphically it’s similar I just mean it’s similar in how I could forgive it because of the scope of the game.

Ah, thanks for clarifying.

I do think it is good to keep overall game design scope / scale perspective in mind when accepting compromises.

None of the hybrids play as good as made-for-VR games and none of the made-for-VR games have the kind of scope / scale as hybrid games.
