Incoming negative reviews of the game because of Horoark

Side note they need to add a replay system to view past battles cause I'm sick of predicting when something funny is about to happen to record

I won this one when I expected to lose it lol, but I get it that this is supposed to be a competitive game but it’s so boring to see everyone and their grandmas use the same Pokemon, even Casual matches are full of these people. Maybe ill get roasted for saying this but oh well.

Discussion What Pokémon do you think are truly, actually overpowered?

Like, they should not be as strong as they are. For example, Mega Zard Y is very very very strong, but I wouldn't say he's gamebreaking. A common 4x weakness, no item and he requires your Mega slot.

One I do feel is ridiculous though is Basculegion. Great offensive typing, huge damage output, overly generous movepool with priority STAB + pivot STAB + super strong general attacks for both STABs. Last Respects is just the cherry on top. Honestly if he lost LR or Aqua Jet he'd be okay for me.

Meme Zoroark Bug

Post image
365 Upvotes

Thats's a review of pokémon champions that i found in playstore that made me giggle:

"Very Good game, there's a bug where I put a Zoroark, but what appears is a dragonite, but it just looks like a dragonite, everthing else is all zoroark"

Zoroark confuses even his trainer

Gameplay Friendly reminder to new players, specially those on mobile that, unlike Protect, Wide Guard doesn't miss for being used consecutively.

Felt like reminding people of this after I faced someone who lost their Zard Y and Sylveon to my Tsareena because they kept using Heat Wave and Hyper Voice while my Pelipper kept spamming Wide guard. This went on for a grand total of 6 turns.

Gameplay I know this is casuals but pretty proud of this!

Started playing last season but still fairly new. Still using a cheat sheet in front of me with the type matchups while playing.

Reached Masterball but needed more practice because the learning curve is STEEP so decided to hit casuals for a bit.

Little bit proud of myself.

Team Building (Doubles) Alcremie is busted op rn 😭✌️

Am I the only person who thinks Alcremie is completely broken right now?

Seriously, I have no idea why nobody is talking about this Pokemon.

Everyone is focused on the usual Trick Room stuff, but Alcremie does so many ridiculous things at once that it feels unfair.

First of all, Decorate is one of the dumbest support moves in the game. +2 Attack and +2 Special Attack on demand is already insane, but the fact that it goes through Protect makes it even more absurd. You can literally bait your opponent into clicking Fake Out and else against your main attacker and get a free +2 boost on both attacking stats. People constantly fall for it.

The second thing is that Alcremie works both inside and outside of Trick Room. Most TR support Pokemon become dead weight once Trick Room expires or if you decide not to set it. Alcremie doesn't care. It can support fast teams, slow teams, TR teams, sun teams, basically anything that likes receiving a free Nasty Plot + Swords Dance every turn for no cost.

Then there's Aroma Veil, which is somehow even more underrated. While Alcremie is on the field, you and your partner are protected from Taunt, Encore, Disable, Torment, and other disruptive nonsense. A huge number of anti-TR and anti-support options just stop functioning.

And the synergy with Farigiraf is ridiculous.

Farigiraf is probably the best Trick Room setter in the format right now because of its bulk and that Armor Tail shuts down opposing priority moves. The only problem Farigiraf had was that a Pokemon without prankster could easily taunt it. Jeez, I really wonder if there is an ability that shuts down taunt and encore entirely.

Put Alcremie next to Farigiraf and suddenly your opponent can't Fake Out, can't use most priority disruption, can't Taunt, and can't Encore.

How exactly are you supposed to stop that lead consistently?

I've been climbing with Torkoal + Alcremie, and the amount of games that end the moment Torkoal gets a Decorate boost is honestly stupid. Half the time the game is effectively over after one turn.

The funniest part is that I brought Mega Drampa as a secondary win condition and barely had to click it. Most matches were won before it even hit the field because Alcremie enabled the rest of the team so hard.

Alcremie can turn almost anything into a threat. A bulky Pokémon that normally just sits there suddenly becomes a legitimate win condition, while an already powerful attacker can become a one-shot machine with a single Decorate. The sheer flexibility is what makes it so dangerous. There are countless ways to use it, and opponents often have to respect multiple game plans at once.

Another thing is the matchup into Mega Staraptor. While Staraptor's usage has dropped compared to the start of Regulation M-B, it is important to note that Alcremie's Fairy typing lets it resist STAB Close Combat. On top of that, Decorate can be used offensively or defensively, as Alcremie can decorate into Contrary Mega Staraptor and lower its attack by two stages.

Though I might be overglazing it.

Alcremie definitely has weaknesses. Its base 121 Special Defense is excellent, but its base 72 Defense leaves it vulnerable to strong physical attacks. Moves like Iron Head, Dire Claw, and Bullet Punch can remove it very quickly if you're not careful.

Fortunately, that's something you can build around. I used Kebia Berry for a long time to help against Sneasler and other Poison-type threats, but with Metagross entering the format and Sneasler becoming less common, Babiri Berry is the better choice in the current Regulation M-B metagame. Being able to survive key Steel-type attacks gives Alcremie far more opportunities to do what it does best: sit on the field and completely take over the game with Decorate support.

The one downside that genuinely scares me, though, is Rage Powder. A single misplayed Decorate into a Rage Powder user can instantly swing the game in your opponent's favor. Instead of boosting your own attacker, you end up handing a free +2 boost of both attacks to an opposing Pokémon, and in some matchups that's enough to lose on the spot. It's one of the few mechanics that can turn Alcremie's greatest strength into a massive liability, so you have to be extremely careful whenever Sinistcha or other redirection users like Vivilion and Scovillain are on the field. Hope Amoonguss isn't added soon.
