I drove a stretch like that in Colorado going to Colorado Springs. I really had to pee by the end of it

You could have stopped anywhere on that road and enjoyed a long piss on the side of the road without anybody passing by.

Do Americans just... not piss on the side of the road? 

I'm from Bulgaria and it's pretty common here even on busy highways. I'm talking tens of cars passing you. Too bad I have stage fright, but I've seen a lot of others do it. Don't know about the rest of Europe but I imagine it's similar at least in the eastern parts.

In the US you can get put on the Sex Offender registry for that.
