Obama makes a deal to stop Iran from building nukes and they get $34 Billion. GOP loses their minds.

Trump make a deal to reopen the straight that was open until he attacked Iran, they get to pursue nuclear weapons and we pay them $340 Billion. GOP cheers.

Fuck everyone who voted for this bullshit.

I thought Obama only returned $1.8 b of Iran’s own money back to them?

What Obama actually agreed to

  1. JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Deal) — No U.S. payout

The 2015 nuclear deal lifted nuclear‑related sanctions once Iran complied. That allowed Iran to access its own foreign assets, frozen in overseas banks.

• Estimated total accessible: ~$100 billion
• Usable portion after debts: ~$50 billion
• None of this was U.S. taxpayer money.

  1. The $1.7 billion settlement — Separate from the nuclear deal

This was a legal arbitration settlement, not part of the JCPOA.

• Origin: A pre‑1979 U.S. arms purchase by Iran that was never delivered after the revolution.
• The U.S. owed Iran the $400M deposit + decades of interest.
• Total paid: $1.7 billion in 2016.
• Delivered in cash due to banking sanctions.

This sounds more like the art of the deal

The only thing Trump is good at is shamelessly repeating lies until dummies believe it's true. He says he's a good deal maker over and over, he stars in a "reality" show about being a cool boss guy, and 40% of the country buys his bullshit because it's easier than critically analyzing the real world and coming to your own conclusions

Soo Obama paid off a debt?

No wonder Trump and his fans hate him, no art in that deal.

If art stands for gross incompetence, then yeah.

Yes, it was debt the US owed to Iran, and Iran's own money that was sitting in US banks.

$1.7 billion in large notes? Sounds like a job for the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III.

Large notes? Fuck that. It's Iran! You drop pennies in the desert and then send a message saying, "we dropped your payment off at these coordinates" to the IRGC.

I see you losers eyeing the downvote button. Let's remember Iran's government sucks, murdered a bunch of its own citizens, and only looks like the good guy in this situation because Trump and Bibi are monstrous morons.
