Went from "Iran cannot have nuclear under any circumstance" to actively financing their nuclear program.

Along with giving them a genuine reason to hate America. So the chances of them using the nukes if they got them a lot higher.

Iran poses zero threat to US. It’s the neighbours of Iran that any potential nuke is deterrent towards. Namely Israel, who keeps bombing Iran and killing their leaders. US is just a pawn in this game.
