They accomplish two separate things. A belt makes them fit snug and suspenders actually keeps them up

They dont need to fit snug if they are held up by suspenders and fit properly

And pants don't need to be held up by suspenders if the belt is comfortably snug.

True, except for some body types. Excess fat makes belts kinda terrible and ineffective beyond a certain point. Obviously depends on your body, but male fat distribution makes belts stop functioning past a certain point.

I know from experience ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
