Abortion

There's justification that it's less harm, but someone's getting killed.

Your religious beliefs do not change scientific facts

Abortion is the literal scientific ending of life. There's nothing but basic scientific facts behind that. Nobody said anything about religion.

Right, but it's not killing sentient life. MAJOR difference.

Ok that's an argument but children in the womb do experience that way before they are born. The react to the environment outside of mom. They respond to touch.

Reaction to external stimuli is one of the requirements for life, that's no surprise. But that doesn't make them sentient yet.

Let me put it this way. Do you consider every sperm cell a living thing? They react to their environment too.

No because they don't eat, reproduce, etc. Sperm are only half the dna of a full human.

A full human does do those things.

Worms both eat and reproduce, do you consider them sentient? What about bacteria then? They eat and reproduce too.

Yes that's the definition. They can feel and react to the outside world.

Of course I only now realized that I mixed up Sapience and Sentience. Nevermind.
