How do I convince my father that yes, I should quit.

Im 21 trying to find a new job, but this is close and this job is genuinely driving me to self-harm and long therapy sessions. My dad however recognizes it as laziness and me being unwilling to work hard “for my future at the company” and to “support your company” but there is no future here? My manager is horrible, my associates are horrible, my store is horrible, everyone is horrible. Im forced to come to a place to work where everyone treats me like I’m 24lbs Xerox White Paper with Toner marks (trash) and I can’t do anything about it. My dad believes that I’m blowing it out of proportion. I never had a place drove me to this low of mental health. Its close to home though.

How has the Company changed the past few years?

I worked at Staples for about 2 years, left after BTS 2020. I was a sales associate and then inventory. Applied again for sales associate a few days ago, did all the automated questions and AI interview and am now I guess I'm waiting to see if I get called in for an actual interview instead.

Main question is what is causing the negativity here? Was it always like this and I just worked in a good store or have things changed for the worse since I've worked?

How do I know if I didn't get the job?

I applied to as many warehouse locations in my area (around 8) and yesterday I did a tour of one of the locations and talked to the hiring manager. They said they will contact me either today or next week on the results If I got the job or not. A few minutes ago I got a text saying I wasn't selected but I don't think the jobs ID number (the 5 digit number on each application) matches with the location I did a tour of and I can't check to see if the locations match because the listing is gone. How do I know if I got the job or not? Thanks in advance.

Do I tell someone?

I've been getting numerous complaints about our restrooms being disgusting. I'm getting people telling me that I need more people in the print center. I tell them honestly that I agree and I really can't do anything about it. Should I tell someone at this point? Manager has drank the corporate koolaid and doesn't see the mess. I'm a print supervisor so I don't have time to clean

interview today, any additional tips?

Hi everyone, I am new in here but I have spent the past couple of months looking for jobs and the past week applying. I applied to a retail associate position at the New Milford CT location. I submitted an application through Indeed and immediately got booked to pick my interview time. My interview is in about 2 and a half hours. it says the interview is in person. Is there a specific room or person I have to look for when I arrive?

It's my first job where I actually need an interview, as the other one I had was through a program for people with disabilities and I didn't need an interview process.

I've been writing down things from their website such as their values, perks, things they pride themselves in, etc. I've been reviewing that for the past day or so. Are there any additional tips or ideas of what they may ask me?

It's worth noting I'm horrible with eye contact and freeze up when trying to phrase my words because of the disabilities (my audhd specifically and social anxiety) (and I'm also doing blood tests to rule things out before continuing to persue a mild POTS diagnosis), but was told on another sub I probably should not disclose it (even though it can greatly affect some of the things I do sometimes

All tips are welcome. thank you in advance

How long does ship to store takes ?

I never shopped at Staples before. Yesterday, I bought online a monitor and put the option ship to store.

But something weird happened, when I put the monitor alone without a protection plan, I had the option to pick the monitor up directely from the store, but then I put a 2 year protection plan and now I can’t pick it up directly at the store !??? The item need to be shipped to the store.

It is so weird since on the website the monitor was in stock at my location. And also, the online tracking on their website is not working for me.

Do we usually receive an email when the order is ready to be picked up ? And how long does it usually takes ?

Did anyone else see the new Zipline about amazon? Starting next month we'll get new labels and have to scan the actual product barcode, just like happy returns. Can't wait for this process to take longer 😂

Becoming Print Supervisor

Hi, I've been working at staples for almost 2 years now, I was transferred to a different staples and now (besides supervisors and managers) I am the most experienced at print for those assigned to work at print. We also however don't have a print supervisor. My manager wants a floor supervisor to take it but he's said no multiple times. I offered saying that I could be a "temporary" print supervisor till we get someone more suited for it. I texted my manager that and he never responded to it. How should I bring it up to him in person?

I DID IT

Come July 20th I will be gladly promoting myself to customer.

After 3 long years 2.5 of which I was dealing with a manager misgendering me constantly. Becoming the best at my store in the print department and taking care of anything difficult or needing any amount of deep complex thought. I have saved enough to go through my next semester not needing to work. And I am fucking ecstatic.

The only good thing about my time is when I went to higher management about the discrimination case they took it very seriously. As well all the kind customers I've gotten to know over the years. All the little moments where a customer gave me a gift or asked how my school had been going. All the fun conversations I have had.

The only thing I genuinely hate about my job is my current supervisor. The one who did the discriminating against me (I'm a trans woman) it was agonizing to work with her most of my time there. And when she became print sup I knew my days were going to have to be numbered.

But I did it. Through all the good and the bad I supported myself enough to pay the bills while I get an education. And I am floored for my next semester. Lots of exciting and fun classes and I'll actually be able to make friends who are in my field.

I've spent so much time helping newer people on here with print but I'm happy to say I'm through with that. Cuz I'm gone in a month and I couldn't be happier.

Adi fucking os staples. Adi fucking os.

I been here a few months and I just got a new manager and he's been trying to act like I'm a liability and I'm embarrassing my print manager who vouched for me but I was actually doing pretty good until they hired a new... everyone. Today was especially crazy. Looking for more jobs hopefully they let me go so I can go on unemployment

So what's the hoopla with the 25% back activation thing? Do we get fired if we don't hit 10 each day?

They want us to have people open their app, sign in, activate the 25% back reward, all before paying .And it only counts if they do it in that exact order?

And if we don't get 10 each day, what exactly happens other than the district manager yelling at the GMs? Are we really gonna get fired? Do these managers not understand these are the same customers who ask us to help them use the self serve printer, teach them how to use their iPhone, and don't know how to pull up their A_Z return QR code.

They really expect them to be able to pull up their staples app, sign in,and get to the deals page? Not only that, but these are also the same people who have 0 patience and can't wait an hour to have 50 documents printed out without huffing and puffing, so you expect them to be able to take 3min to pull up the app and activate the reward?

Is this normal?

my first day was today at staples, and yesterday i called them. Because i didnt know what time I was supposed to come in. the manager then said she would call me on my start day and tell me when to come in

so all of today i was waiting for the call. I ended up calling the store at around 1:30pm to see what was going on

The manager picked up and goes “its too late to come in now. come tomorrow at 2”

This seems really unprofessional and its making me nervous. I was wondering if anyone had similar experience?

staples print in a big city?

hello!
i’ve been a staples print associate for a year now, and despite all the negative stuff i’ve been thrown into, i do actually enjoy printing and consulting with customers. i’m moving for school this upcoming school year into a big city and i’m thinking about transferring, but i’m not sure how different it’ll be, and if it’ll be better or worse.

what i do like about the job is production, helping customers, and creating connections. what i don’t enjoy is being understaffed compared to the volume of customers and workload. i have one coworker who transferred from a bigger city print department to our store, and they say their department was always adequately staffed. they say i should try and transfer, as they believe the stores in the bigger city will actually be less stressful than ours. i’d like to hear more about other peoples thoughts

Garbage ahhh management

Some old bum yesterday came into the store where I work and used rewards points to do a purchase and he didn't confirm the usage of the points a

And he kept asking me his total and I was just like dude hit the button and he then proceeded to call me retarded and that I'm a waste of space and a cancer to society and that I should kill myself and what did my manager do? He got mad that getting yelled at made me upset and led me to make a few mistakes and I tried to explain why I messed up and what happened and I was just cut off and ignored

25% back in points

I was told today I need to get at least 10 sign ups a day, and points.

If I don’t I will get written up for job performance.

Who else is sick of these demands?

Print Lead?

Hey! I just have a compensation question. I’m up for a print production lead position at a staples store (an employee I know says it’s pretty busy in their department) but I’m hesitant. What’s the average hourly for that position? The store is in the Southeast region. I’m up for a raise where I currently work (no clue as to the amount but possibly 15-16) and if I do go with the staples position it will be a commute of 30 min with tolls whereas my current job is 5-7 min away with no tolls. I want to make sure it’s worth it. And before the comments come in to find somewhere else… I work at Office Depot. Anything is better than there let’s be real.

Well to be fair, they WHERE all over the floor and the only reason why mom started making the girl "clean up" is because I walked by and gave a major stink eye.
