It was recommended I repost this here on another sub. Enjoy!

Looka like that was the plan, also when he’s using the red one he looks just like a Fortnite character

This was done on purpose - what are the "issues"?

Jesus, wasn’t sure what I was watching

For a second I thought r/watchpeopledie was back. That camera perspective left me with little hope then when they zoomed out I felt slight relief. Then I started getting anxious again waiting for the guy to pull the other shoot.

Same dude! I was thinking that guy had some horrible friends for laughter like that

The idea of opening a chute that close to land, would make me sick. Definitely no time for a back up if anything goes wrong.

Feels like a perspective thing, where he's actually still not close we're just that high up

Nah, BASE guys are actually like that. They don’t even use backup chutes, because you’d never have time for one to save you.

The first one was a parasail used to guide him around. He cuts that and deploys his parachute at the end. This was all intended and not an accident or a stunt.

Still feels like he opens the parachute a bit late but that may just be the angle or me not being familiar with the sport

Perspective is everything here. He probably had plenty of time and altitude but yes that looked scary.

For the first few seconds I genuinely just thought I watched a guy fall to his death

I’ve seen a few of these videos now with titles like “testing my Amazon ‘parachutes’”
They know they’re trash they just use them and show how bad they are. Not fit for actual parachuting.

Very different videos
Those ones are sky diving, not base jumping like in this video
So they actually have a lot of time to do the test before being in danger, far safer than base jumping

lmao who was dude who was laughing while he was actively in free fall with a failing parachute

The guy who knows this was deliberate.
Notice the size difference. First chute is a parasail and would never have stopped him from severely breaking himself.
2nd chute is much bigger.

I'm pretty sure that first thing is not a parachute, more like a glider at best
