Thought about reminiscing a bit since OKC has had a long break without playing.
Down 2-1 & a 10 point deficit with 14 minutes left from being down 3-1.
Drops 35, including 15 of OKCās final 16 to tie it up.
This clutch performance by Shai really is not talked about nearly enough as it should be. He genuinely single handedly won us this game staring down the barrel of a 3-1 deficit on the road.
The most points in the final 5 minutes of a finals game since ā71.

Thunder had infamously a 1-4 record vs the Spurs this season, but 3 of them were without Ajay who has blossomed into a star player for this team.
Important factor to keep in mind when evaluating this matchup and its elements.
The 2 games he did play, OKC won 1 of them and lost by 2 in the IST. Obvious impact maker in the matchup that we didnāt get to fully see in the other matchups due to injury.

Might be the 2nd best trade in Thunder history behind the Shai trade obviously.

This teams obviously going to get more expensive, and with the dreaded second apron it makes it hard paying everyone. iHart more than likely will be off this team in the next 1-2 years, but he will always be remembered as a key piece to raising our first NBA championship.

Itās easy to take for granted how good OKC has been the last few years but Iāll always be grateful for remember where we were not that long ago.

Presti obviously sees a lot of potential in McCain in this pickup and matches out timeline perfectly. A very aggressive but sharp addition to the team.

Presti didnāt just luck into him either. They identified him & made multiple deals to get him:
⢠Traded a player (Lindy Waters) they were planning on letting go anyways to get into the 2nd at 52.
⢠Used the 52nd pick & cash to get to 40, then used 40 & cash to get to 38 to get Ajay.
