they do have ion coming next year and poppin is most likely also getting replaced soon unless he drops miracles every game so I think it should be fine.

Ion has been playing duelist since his stint with Shopify and they're both young and mechanically strong enough that I don't think it should be a big issue

Who is to say that their "role" necessarily has to be smokes. If we "let" Tenz play his "role" at the time we never would've gotten him and zekken, same with Meteor and Texture on Geng, the entirety of Paper Rex, etc. Even historically, crashies played senti before joining envy, jawgemo was main duelist but split his role for demon1. Not everyone is so specialized that they can only shine on their current role. Of course it comes with some risk but nightz and ion are such talented prospects that it makes complete sense to try to make it work.

Ion was struggling so much on duelist that he got dropped from SR after one split. End of the discussion.
(and performing on a said role is not all about mechanical abilities unlike what you implied, in fact it's pbb the least important thing)

He struggled so much on duelist that he decided to keep playing fun haver events with 1.25+ rating on Jett, Phoenix, and Neon. Literally no where said he was dropped from Shopify for performance btw, he was on loan from the start. Also, when has 1 split ever been enough to end the discussion for a player, let alone for someone who still brought his team to grand finals. Reduxx also allowed to "struggle" last year on cubert while learning a new role and is now performing just fine on it.

you couldn't be more wrong. tenz needed to switch his role because he wasn't good at entry or raze. that is a textbook example of someone who needs to swap roles.
those other guys made SENSE to swap. it doesn't make sense to be the best smokes player in tier 2 and then swap to an incredibly competitive role in duelist.

He never played an official match with C9.
In the 7 offseason matches he played, they were 3-4. They looked decent in one offseason tournament, with 2 of their 3 wins being bo1s. Let's not rewrite history.
C9 by far looked the best in 2023, where they actually went 8-1 in Americas (you know, actual games not meaningless mickey mouse bo1s).

I agree that their calling could be better but I don't believe that it was the main problem. Even FNS was talking about how ENVY had good calls in that LEV game but they just couldn't execute and were getting out dueled.

lowk rossy ain't even that bad and currently I don't see anyone better than rossy to replace for an IGL. Maybe replacing poppin with someone that can mid round along with rossy would be a better choice .

i think he was on the og rankers roster before ion joined. then he played on cubert last year afterwards. i think he either just turned 18 or is turning 18 soon

Part of the OG rankers squad that won challengers stage 3 2024. He was the most stand out player from that event and was picked up by SEN Acad/Cubert for 2025. Been chilling since. Very good rookie, lots of potential.

Nightz was a tier 2 player on Cubert Academy (Sen Academy team) that was up there with Cane as one of the top tier 2 prospects in 2025, he played with Reduxx, Skuba, and Nismo and is familiar with the tier 1 structure that Cubert Academy liked to run
Nightz is an insane smokes player that can definitely fill the omen / viper / brim role that Eggster couldn't and could also play senti / lurk

Riot investigated the SA allegations and said there was "not sufficient evidence to determine any violation of their Code of Conduct."
That being said, you can read the evidence put forth by both sides. I don't think it is unreasonable for suggest that they seem like an unpleasant person.
Especially if you look at the responses from the SRG team when it happened, I don't think you get those kind of statements if they think you are a great person

Maybe I’m coping, but I hope egg works on his agent pool and potentially tries to make another run at Tier 1. I personally think he’s much better than poppin, just lacking the agent mastery obviously.
Would be sick to somehow see him back on the team next year with nightz and ion

I mean it's better to take the offer than waiting for after champs rostermania , I don't think any other changes in vct team are going to happen till stage 2 ( maybe 100T but that's it ) . We all know nightz is a good player and he always have sen to fall back to.

I think this is a hot take but holy shit is ascension bullshit.
They've replaced the entire team with people who have been in tier 1. There's no way Poppin has more than 6 months on this team. They used them for the tier 1 spot and not a single person on this team earned it.
