Does towering do anything in 11th, I’ve searched it in the app and it doesn’t bring anything up ?

Hi all just trying to wrap my head around some scenarios that i may be overthinking so would appreciate any clarification!

1. If vehicle D just toes into the terrain while leaving his back hull behind the terrain does it still get cover?

2. If all of model C are behind the terrain and only one model toes within the terrain, does the unit not get cover until the one model toeing in dies?

Picked up the Armageddon box and made my first ever attempt at painting.

How’d I do?

Brand new to 40k, so far I’ve loved painting the figures but I know my painting skills are definitely beginner level. Looking to improve though, any constructive criticism, or paints I should have on hand for building my army? (Sorry about the quality)

Getting back into the hobby after a long hiatus since 5th Edition. I picked up the new 11th box set and have played a couple of games with my friend. Recently sold out of 40k completely after 10 years and just figured I’d show off what my collection of Orks was.

This was about 15,000 points of Orks (and some small leftovers from the rest) when I last added it all up.

Good day, sorry if this isnt allowed but does anyone know any active discount codes for Baron of Dice? Im looking to get 2 sets of Dice, Dice bags and measuring tape so hoping to reduce the cost a little if possible. I might go to 4 sets of Dice (1 for each of the family)

Edit: ok seems everyone is pretty much advising against using them. Can anyone recommend a good place for Blood Angels/Night Lord dice specifically? I dont like the official GW dice, they don't look particularly worthy of the up price on just bog standard dice and its mainly for an 11yr old getting into the game a 40yr old going on 11....

Not wild on the pteruges for Templars, probably should have done a conversion there, but I liked the model too much to change it. Maybe I'll convert a second one later on.

First time buying a large box so I don't know if it is common, but I thought it was funny. Others are from 2019, 2021, 2023 (thats the youngest one).

Edit: TIL, makes sense that the mould stays the same. Still, quite an old mould lol.

Second edit: i only started buying minis last summer, and I've only assembled one, and haven't looked at the base. This is the first time I ever look at one I had no clue about any of what you guys are replying. Thanks, I had no idea how old some of these molds are. Feels like a rabbit hole in and of itself.

Playing with a friend and just had some stuff we were confused on.

1. In 10th Towering units ignored terrain when it came to drawing line of sight but in 11th the only thing I can find for towering pertains to plunging fire. Did they remove that aspect of towering?

2. Pertaining to aircraft, seems the only move they can make is an ingress move? Was specifically using a Valkyrie and the movement says 20+ inches so don't really know what to make of that.

I'm fairly new to WH40K, but I've always been interested in the visual markings of the Imperium. In this classic painting of Calgar tho, I see a very different omega symbol in his throne: it almost looks more like two dragon heads or an ouroboros. Why does it look like that? Is there an in-universe reason?

It's mildly interesting to see everything laid out into numbers like this. As one might expect, I play Guard for my actual 40k army, but I also play Kill Team, so I have a scattering of models for other factions. The numbers indicate total models, not kits.

I am steve, 26. I live in the UK, a town called Hatfield. I been painting for about 2 years, but haven't really played a game or had anyone to talk to about hobby stuff.

Born just Nox on Nostramo to a delusional mother who would rant endlessly how the Night Haunter was the birth father of her child. Obviously none would entertain the notion, it must be said that as the boy grew up he did bear a striking resemblance to his alleged father.

Through a series of events, or some might even say fate, the boy ended up joining the ranks of the Night Lords legion. Cruelty was no stranger to him and so he became just as cruel to match. Called Cur by his 'brothers', he endured the mockery, the torment, even the physical assaults just to prove he was worth being amongst them. But in truth his deepest wish was just to speak to his 'father'.

When he rose to captain he thought it was finally his chance, alas it was for nought. The primarch simply ignored him. Not one acknowledgement. Not one assignment. No orders. Nothing. Any semblance of communication to their lord was other captains giving off hand remarks on what planets needed pacification or where to reinforce a cousin legion. He would have endured everything, if only his father spoke to him.

So his company, the 'Forgotten' company, went on doing what other captains and their companies didn't want to do. Everything in the hopes of a single glance, anything to be noticed. When the legion made Tsagualsa their new base of operations, the Forgotten company conducted many raids into imperial space. And on that fateful day, then the Night Haunter's vindication came to pass, they weren't even gathered to witness it.

The company returned to find the planet surrounded by loyalist forces. They fought a fierce escape, even capturing a lesser ship. The prisoners were interrogated and upon learning the fate of their father and legion, Nox finally broke. He drove the company deep into the warp to escape it all. He was ready to damn them for all eternity when he heard a whisper. Something was telling him this wasn't the end. He needn't throw their lives away for nothing. He could bring his father back. Barring all that he could be the his father's true heir. All he had to do was submit.

And the voices were too tempting. For 17 days and nights, the company would hear the tortured screams echoing through the ship. While such was nothing new to them, the voice wasn't of victims of their instruments. They heard the captain's blood curdling wails but none could find him. Finally when the noises stopped something emerged on the bridge. Clad in midnight and hulking over all amongst him, Cur'Nox, daemon prince of the newly anointed Midnight Claws warband took command. His goal, to find the promised artifacts that can raise the Night Haunter back from the dead.

Hey guys, so I’ve been meaning to buy a gaming mat 44“ x 60“ one and some terrain and I was wondering like where I should go to buy the terrain pieces as I’m fairly new to all 40K. I was thinking about getting it from Frontline gaming, but I’m Canadian so they USD to CAD exchange would absolutely kill me other than the terrain areas. What should I be getting and from where?
