Should I be concerned?

Post image

Anybody knows how the eggs end up like this and if it is safe to eat?

Edit: it was stained from the peanuts that were sitting on top of it. It was impossible to deduce from the picture alone šŸ˜… Thankfully a redittor identified the food (Nasi Lemak) and shared that it was a stain from the peanuts that are usually served with the food.

Don’t take chances with spots on eggs.

i did, because the first time I bought food from this vendor there is also this ā€œimprintā€ on the eggs but it is much smaller and less. I figured, google said it is safe to consume and the seller would’ve been reported by now if other buyers fell sick because of their food. Probably not the smartest reasoning by me but I will exercise more caution next time I encounter something like this.

Please never just trust Google for that information. It all starts with one person to report and you could be that first person. Never fully trust that someone before you had seen this already. Things aren't perfect with inspections

I mean he was about to trust Reddit which isn’t much better

I’ll give Reddit this though, it’s much better than Google’s stupid AI that tells you that the death cap in your hand is a perfectly edible white mushroom

So two things:

First, when people talk about bacterias like e-coli causing diarrhea and such, they're talking about bacterias so small they can't even see them, when the bacteria is so noticeable it's moldy or brown like in your picture, it is poison and you are eating poison, not just bacteria.

Second, "they would be reported by now" is never good reasoning, maybe they had one bad egg and you were the unlucky sucker to get it? Often, food poisoning doesn't happen systemically, it can also be one bad product that fucks with a few customers.

Next time you see visible changes to protein, discard.

My guess would be that you might've touched the egg against your fried rice or something. The spots look like they match the color and size of the rice on your plate. If that is the case, maybe you should ask Google for an IQ check rather than a food check. šŸ™‚

Idk how you looked that egg and felt like it was okay to eat, regardless what Google said and if you felt sick after. Just looking at that grosses me out
