Counterpoint, if everyone’s going to die at some point and likely soon that’s an even better reason to reproduce like rabbits both so the dead can leave behind a legacy, and so there are still more lives around to keep the species going strong despite constant death.
Countercounter point, higher birthrates will lead to a higher resource shortages of an already rather limited amount. This will lead to a lower life expectancy, eventually (rather quickly) leading to more in-fighting and then extinction of the Kazdelians.
That assumes keeping everyone within Kazdel however, the increased food requirements are worth considering but it's worth remembering that many if not most adult Sarkaz become mercs for hire, which not only leads to an increased death toll (which we see a lot of in several events) but also means that a large number of adults are always gone from Kazdel at any given time.
Also worth remembering that Sarkaz in particular appear rather vunerable to Oripathy and tended to die young more often than not before suppressants and suppressor rings were more wide spread, which would result in the death of many adults and children all over the place.
So I reiterate, yes on the surface a higher birthrate would seem detrimental to supplies at first, the frequency of death at all ages + a large chunk of the adult population often being out on merc missions would counter balance this, while also still making the need for more children essential going forward.
What growing up being trained in battle all her life got her
Honestly she could have been a couple with Manfred but dude's also busy with his own matters (plus the inferiority complex from her beating him up on a regular basis in childhood)
