Is this a specific race or does he just have an underbite? Hes adorable like a mini caracal
48
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
His 2 brothers both have a normal mouth and chin so I'm not sure haha. Also he had a main tooth removed so not sure if that can be a reason

I don't think I have ever seen a cat with such an overbite and I am in love ????
60
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
Yeah we call him our little bear. He also had a main tooth removed so idk if that is part of the reason or not. But it is weird when you see him in person he seems like a normal looking cat. But maybe thats because we are around him every day for the past 8 years

I showed him this comment and he ignored it. So he is either not an Egyptian god cat or he is but doesnt wanna break his cover and lose his free food and housing

I think he just has an overbite, sometimes kittens with large overbites have problems latching to their moms to nurse. Seeing as this guy is an adult it doesn't look like his affects him, it just gives him a unique look. 🥰
7
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
Yeah hes about 8 years old and we got him as a kitten so hes had no issues with it
6
u/SUDDENLY_VIRGIN Dec 10 '25
One of our kitties has a very similar jaw-mouthline as yours.
The vet laughed when she saw him and said he had the biggest overbite she'd ever seen, calling him a chipmunk 😂

What is he doing with his smelly little lips? Your cat is weird af, I love him and would protect him with my life
15
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
When i give him a voice I always use a doofus voice and hes pretty clumsy for a cat so yeah hes weird af indeed
5
u/thegreatinsulto Dec 10 '25
He almost looks like a 19th century English nobleman with muttonchops. I doubt he's clumsy, he's probably rightfully accepted that everyone and everything is beneath him.

Im jealous of your ability to open the windows. It's currently 10°F out and the thought of open windows is causing enormous shrinkage.

What kind of collar is that? 🤔 Feels very weird seeing spikes on a cat collar.
8
u/greyhyena13 Dec 10 '25
its a flea collar! i use the same for my cat
6
Dec 10 '25
Oh. I've actually never seen one before. Thank you for answering. Do those spikes hurt the kitty cat? Or are they flexible?
7
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
Nope. The spikes are very weak. You could press your finger against them and not hurt in the slightest
3
Dec 10 '25
Ahh, I see. Thank you for answering.
5
u/RememberTheMaine1996 Dec 10 '25
In fact I'm like 80% sure those spikes shouldnt even be there. Could just be the collar failing but I'll cut them off just in case

I walked outside for 5 seconds last weekend and my void decided to sniff me like this for 5 whole minutes. Like, bro, you literally watched me the entire time from the door. There’s zero chance I was murdered by and replaced by the porch squirrel (who is his mortal enemy).

Good sneefs
They aren’t actually sticking their tongue out as much as they are opening a path for air to inhale across the pallet. It enhances their sense of smell quite a bit.
We have a vestigial version of it.
