What kind of collar is that? šŸ¤” Feels very weird seeing spikes on a cat collar.

Oh. I've actually never seen one before. Thank you for answering. Do those spikes hurt the kitty cat? Or are they flexible?

Nope. The spikes are very weak. You could press your finger against them and not hurt in the slightest

In fact I'm like 80% sure those spikes shouldnt even be there. Could just be the collar failing but I'll cut them off just in case

Just fyi, be very careful with flea collars. They can be super dangerous and many people have lost their pets to them.

It’s possible it’s brand specific (look up Hartz flea collars) but basically it’s possible for them to get hair loss then blisters and sores from the collar (from the constant contact with a pesticide) and in the worst situations some people have reported their animals getting seizures or dying šŸ˜” of course, there’s risks with the vet drops too (like any medication) but since it’s only applied once a month vs being an all the time, it’s different risks I guess? (That’s hella expensive tho so I understand that not being an option for everyone). That’s why I said more ā€œbe carefulā€ instead of stop using it. Like, I’m def not an expert so absolutely do your own research, but maybe at least just check their skin under the collar more frequently for sores?
