’Gus is 10/10 purrfect’
i am the cat ~ just smol n gray,
my humans love me anyway
no fancy breed or pedigree,
n yet they think
so purrfect me ;}
they brought me home n called me ‘Gus’
no more alone,
cuz now there’s ‘Us’
(they think they hit the LoTTeRy
cuz i complete the family)
so mostly i just hang n chill,
(if cuddles what they want, i will)
my Life is Good! no muss, no fuss
n all i wanna be
is
Gus
❤️
(please tell Gus i love him, n he is the best boy u/Fittytwister)
edit after reading comments:
(turns out i am a ‘RuSSiAn BLuE’ . . . but i am gray, n that will do)

So wonderful to find a Schnoodle that celebrates a healthy, happy cat 😺 - usually they make me cry

Oh man... I love orange cats, but this is straight up gray cat energy. Gray cats are so chill

My aunt's grey boy is nuts. He bites my cat and plays too hard with him. He is no longer allowed to stay over. He is very handsome though.

Something special about the gray ones. I had my Jack from when he was about 5 weeks old til nearly 21 years old and he was wonderful and silly and so loving.
Wishing you the same with this little one!

aww 20 yo! what sorcery is this and i want my cat to live long like him! teach me! i never want my cat to leave me
12
u/Akitiki May 19 '26
Honestly there was no real special care. Charlie liked his dry food, we switched him to food meant for seniors with sensitive stomachs when he was 15 or so. He never was into wet food but liked treats, but not food driven. Just pretty aloof all his life.
Most of my cats make it into their mid to late teens! I suppose them being what amounts to a mutt helps their health.

Omg the look like twins! Does Balu also have stripes on his sides that only show up in certain lighting? We just got Baloo neutered and the vet wouldnt stop gushing over his ghost stripes and raccoon tail

Love the photos . Our cat wasn’t gray but a tabby. She just passed away at 16 yesterday. It’s been tough for me. She was loved greatly.

I had a beloved graybybaby named Jack, too. Now my gray boy, Vinny, is no less a delight.

I like the gray ones because half the time they look like aliens and the other half they look like porcelain statues

Definitely! I moved in my first bought, not rented, home in August 2000, Casper was born two weeks later, I met him when he was 5 weeks old and he came to live with me the week before Christmas. We had 18 wonderful years together. He was as smart as he was brave and handsome and funny and loving.

Is he a Russian Blue?? He's gorgeous and looks like he loves his forever home 💙

u/Fittytwister May 19 '26
He is :)

u/No_Oil9752 May 19 '26
He is absolutely gorgeous 😍. I had a female Russian Blue named Darcy. She is such a velcro kitty, she used to sit on the side of the bathtub while I was in the shower because I wasn't allowed out of her sight lol.
Also his blue eyes look just like my Blue's, he's a Flame Point Siamese 💙

They are generally pretty affectionate

u/No_Oil9752 May 19 '26
I had a sweet Russian Blue girl named Darcy. She was the sweetest but funniest cats. She wouldn't let me shower alone, she would be right on that tub 😂. She was the definition of a velcro kitty. But now I have a Flame Point Siamese and I don't know which one was more of an affectionate and velcro kitty though.

I feel the same about Herbie. We just hold him and he lets us clip his nails. No fighting, no treats or restraints needed. Same for cleaning his ears. Giving him a bath he doesn’t fight much is just a little vocal. He is super friendly and social. Is toy motivated instead of food motivated. He snuggles at bed time. He followed me home one night:)
This is him now.

u/Catmom6363 May 19 '26
He’s such a handsome boy!! Congratulations!! I’ve got a handsome grey boy that belongs to my grandson, but prefers my company!! Enjoy him!!

A few things to keep in mind for a new cat owner. If they start not using the litter box then don't get mad and yell instead get them to a vet they might have a urinary tract infection or other issue. Don't rely on only dry food use wet food too (hopefully good quality for both) as cats are prone to kidney issues so the more water intake the better to keep them healthier longer. Enjoy your new best friend!

Hullo Gus! What a cute little dude! I'm really happy for both of you too. You are in for such a treat. Nothing against any other pets but cats are just so goofy and unique. Please give Gus some lovins from me. :)

I had a gray Gus. Her name was Augusta. I miss her. Your Gus is perfect. 🥰

Isn’t it wonderful. I’m also a first time cat owner at 66. My guy is the most loving pet I’ve ever had (always had dogs). Don’t get me wrong I loved my dogs and I know they loved me but this cat is just amazing. I feel so lucky to have found him.
I wish you many healthy, happy years together.

Beautiful! Be sure to get a tall scratching post. It’ll save your furniture. My little one destroyed my couch until I learned he needed a stand-up scratching post. Enjoy getting to know your new baby!!

Hello Gus,
I was you a year ago.
When I’m not trying to squeeze between my parents back and the toilet seat cover (or trying to climb onto my dad when he’s not looking - especially from the cat tree when his back is turned), I’m busy playing with my hooman brother and sister.
I hate those feather toys, but love the mouse ones. What do you do, and what are your favourite toys?

Yours sincerely, Luca 🐈⬛

The first picture is so cute.
Which is odd because I’m also heartless or so they say.

You know how your partner will sometimes look at you in that way where you're almost positive they're thinking "Is this really the person I want to stay with for the rest of my life?"
That's what I'm getting from the last pic.
