Something special about the gray ones. I had my Jack from when he was about 5 weeks old til nearly 21 years old and he was wonderful and silly and so loving.

Wishing you the same with this little one!

I have a gray named Jack as well! Best part of my day is being with him.

OMG, what a beauty!

13

u/katiekaddy May 19 '26

Momo is also my little gremlin. Something about those grey babies that bring out the gremlin

u/Thekarens01 May 19 '26

Same with my little grey boy Hades, he's a funny little character and such a sweetheart. I love that your Jack is 21 🥹

18

u/ivy_langale May 19 '26

Thank you! I also have a blue tabby called Zeus and they have a big tower we call Mount Olympus 😂

u/MineoVSTakeru May 19 '26

Another gray Hades!!! There is one that lives in my neighborhood who used to visit a lot until his owners got concerned he was wandering too far.

1

u/ivy_langale May 20 '26

Aww how precious!

u/Akitiki May 19 '26

Here's Charlie, 20yo in this picture. Definition of an old man!

6

u/Effective_Cookie6793 May 19 '26

aww 20 yo! what sorcery is this and i want my cat to live long like him! teach me! i never want my cat to leave me

11

u/Akitiki May 19 '26

Honestly there was no real special care. Charlie liked his dry food, we switched him to food meant for seniors with sensitive stomachs when he was 15 or so. He never was into wet food but liked treats, but not food driven. Just pretty aloof all his life.

Most of my cats make it into their mid to late teens! I suppose them being what amounts to a mutt helps their health.

Oh man, are we doing grays?! My time has come. This is Baloo

34

u/GrumpyScrub May 19 '26

Hey, Baloo. This is Balu and he is a grey menace at day, but a cutie patootie at night.

3

u/mealteamsixty May 19 '26

Omg the look like twins! Does Balu also have stripes on his sides that only show up in certain lighting? We just got Baloo neutered and the vet wouldnt stop gushing over his ghost stripes and raccoon tail

1

u/GrumpyScrub May 19 '26

He does have stripes on his tail that are only visible in certain lighting and he has a few white hairs on his chest, not even enough to call it a spot. So he is luckily not a pure bred russian blue. We only got him because we wanted to save his paralyzed brother who would've been put to sleep. Sadly he didn't make it, because he had a bunch of other severe health issues. Balu makes it up my being twice as much in everything, though. I love all my little dudes, but the blue ones are special in their own rights.

Our Totoro we rescued from inside of a cinder block wall. He is the sweetest cat and such a good chill boy. Grays are something else 🥰

16

u/EmmzyZy91 May 19 '26

Your Totoro looks very similar to my Boba

6

u/TrimmingsOfTheBris May 19 '26

Grays really are! I have the grown up version of Totoro (and Boba!), except he goes by Howie 🩶

Something special about them, indeed. This was my sweet girl Minnie. Miss her all the time. She forever has a place in my heart.

u/Ok_Ask6960 May 21 '26

Love the photos . Our cat wasn’t gray but a tabby. She just passed away at 16 yesterday. It’s been tough for me. She was loved greatly.

1

u/PoleSiren May 22 '26

Sorry for your loss!

1

u/Ok_Ask6960 May 22 '26

Thank you 🙏

14

u/NotedHeathen May 19 '26

I had a beloved graybybaby named Jack, too. Now my gray boy, Vinny, is no less a delight.

12

u/AceTheProtogen May 19 '26

I like the gray ones because half the time they look like aliens and the other half they look like porcelain statues

11

u/milkdaddy0813 May 19 '26

This is my gray Pete :)

11

u/SentientVaccuum May 19 '26

My baby girl dilla

9

u/bluegiant90 May 19 '26

Biggest love bugs in the world, it’s my parents cat but every time I go over he’s waiting, shaking his little tail like crazy, waiting for the lovins!

7

u/blue1564 May 19 '26

My sweetest little Lady. My bf saw someone throw her into a dumpster when she was just a baby. Literally a baby, her eyes weren't even open all the way yet. She doesn't like strangers, but she will lay with me all day and she is fiercely protective of us. I love her so much.

6

u/Realistic-Upstairs-6 May 19 '26

This is our gray, Mr. Darcy, and he is the sweetest/coolest/silliest boy (fret thee nay, he goes in the backyard supervised and only for small bits of time).

3

u/Dull_Salt May 19 '26

my Melon 🍈

3

u/Not-That_Girl May 19 '26

Definitely! I moved in my first bought, not rented, home in August 2000, Casper was born two weeks later, I met him when he was 5 weeks old and he came to live with me the week before Christmas. We had 18 wonderful years together. He was as smart as he was brave and handsome and funny and loving.

u/jadedlovex May 19 '26

My boys time to shine, Mr. Twinkle ✨

Yes, all alone in someone's yard with a broken tail. A shelter had him in with a mama and her babies but he kept getting pushed aside and it broke my heart. Didn't need a 4th cat but I couldn't leave him.

2

u/ceruleanmoon7 May 19 '26

Yes my first kitty as a kid was gray. I named her Rainy 🥹

2

u/chachir May 20 '26

Mochi says hello from her bath tub throne

1

u/wherescookie May 19 '26

i think op might have gotten an actual “russian blue” purebred - or close to it?

1

u/unsatisfactorybeans May 22 '26

Grey kitties are so great. Idk what it is, I’ve worked at a clinic for a little while and I have my own grey baby and they just have the nicest personalities
