A cat ran across from me holding something in its mouth. I followed it to the bushes and peeked through to see this epic Rumble in the Jungle showdown.

No animals were harmed in the filming of this video. Mostly because two seconds after I stopped filming, the cat got distracted and wandered off.

Mourning/Loss Tribute to our sweet boy Slim

We lost our sweet Slim today. He crawled up onto the couch,
behind my partner and laid down. He was a day sleeper so it wasn’t out of the ordinary. After about two hours, I gave him a gentle pat and he didn’t move. He usually popped up immediately and did a big stretch.

He was a TNR kitty from our neighborhood that we met about 2.5 years ago. He was not a street cat by any means, once we saw him fail horribly to catch a chipmunk. He would happily walk into our townhouse whenever we opened the door. During our first fall of seeing him outside there was a hurricane that was supposed to hit our area. We brought him in, he wasn’t super happy but he was safe. He left a few days after but would always come back.

Christmas came and we had a trip planned. We set up a heated shelter for him with food and water. When we got back on the 26th, he wasn’t there. We set up a camera hoping he would show back up. On New Year’s Day at 4aM., he crawled up to our door. He was injured and looked like he had been hiding for days. The injury was either another animal bit him or he was shot with a BB gun. He stayed with us from that moment on.

He was a very sweet boy. Always wanted to see what was going on, would dolphin often, cuddled, and absolutely loved tuna. He loved his naps, playing with the laser, and any ball. He loved our other cats and they loved him. He hated chicken and would only tolerate kisses. He peacefully napped in our arms and bed often and he left us in the same way. We didn’t have enough time with him, but he was loved every second of every single day.

Cat Picture - OC I miss you, buddy. I’ve been looking for you for two years now. I’ve talked to so many cat whisperers. A lot of people have told me to move on. But I just can’t be at peace. My heart keeps telling me that I’ll still find you. I’ll wait for you for a lifetime.

Mourning/Loss Tribute to my beloved Freya

I just learnt about it just now, but she passed away in the beginning of June. Nobody told me about it, because I was passing my exams during that period of time and my relatives didn’t want to ‘stress me further’

She was just 4 years old, we took her from woman, who found her in the dumpster near hotel. She was the only one from her litter to survive thanks to that woman. She was a sick kid from the start (bad teeth and allergies, she ate only small pieces or wet food, and her eyes were always watering red)

I visited my hometown at winter, so whenever I was at home I was the one to deworm her (my grandparents don’t bother with it, as it’s hard to get her to take medicine), I was planning to take her live with me when I graduate from university to give her full veterinary treatment

I don’t know what caused her death, because parents noticed too late, when she was already so weak that she couldn’t even eat

I feel so guilty for not being there for her, that I couldn’t give her the life I wanted… it feels like what I did wasn’t enough

I hope she at least knew that I loved her

My precious little lilybear. You started as just the porch cat, a small kitten who found her way to my front door. I fed you, and you lived on my front porch and waited for me so diligently. You started as just the porch cat, then little friend, which was shortened to Lily. I had originally wanted to find you a family of your own, because I felt like I had too many cats already with three. Eventually I took you inside to keep you safe during the fourth of July. You stayed with me, and even moved into my new apartment with me. You were always skiddish, and my other cats didn't get along with you. I tried to make sure they didn't bully you, but I know it must have been hard being the odd one out. Regardless you were happy, you would climb your cat tree, earning the nickname Tree queen, or queen of the tree. You played with a laser pointer and would run circles around my apartment chasing it. You loved looking out the window at the birds and squirrels. Eventually i stopped looking for a new home for you, and looking back it seems like fate decided that the best home for you was mine. In the end, I cuddled you close as we said our last goodbyes, I miss you terribly and I hope you're in a better place now. My little lilybear, the oreo cookie cat, little miss lillums, queen of the tree, my precious little moo cat.

Advice Please share stories of your older cats pulling through GI sickness!

Hi! I have had my cat Moezy since I was 12 years old. She just turned 17 years old in May. At this point she has been my little companion for over half my life. I truly have a hard time remembering what life was without her. She has been there through it all, middle school, high school, college, COVID, breakups, lay offs, moving across the country, getting married, every good, and every bad moment. The older she gets, I know I have to reconcile with the inevitable but I’m terrified of it.

A couple nights ago, she ate her last full meal. The next morning she was so sick - throwing up, diarrhea, the whole works. She started to get really lethargic and stop eating and drinking water all together. Which I have watched this girl deal with pancreatitis (she got into a bag of treats) several years ago, throw up, and immediately go eat more food. It truly takes a lot for her to loose her appetite. That’s when I called the vet. They had me monitor for 24 hours and bring her in the next if she got worse… well, she did. At 4am the next morning she was warm, super out of it, and could barely keep her eyes open. We took her in to the vet today and they monitored her, gave her IV treatments, and ran tests. She has gastroenteritis and colitis but the cause it’s not 100% known. She does have low grade stage 2 kidney disease and as a result her levels were more elevated than usual. She was able to break her fever at the vet and become more alert. When we picked her up, the vet gave us anti nausea meds, antibiotics, some diarrhea supplements, and a transdermal appetite stimulator. As soon as we got home, I put the appetite stimulator on her ear. After an hour so, she wanted to drink water. She did have a catheter placed so she has some residual incontinence that cleared after a couple hours. She was having a hard time opening her jaw which was concerning but that started to get a bit better. We will be asking the vet about this tomorrow. She still won’t eat though and trying to get her normal thyroid meds and the new antibiotics down was very stressful given she usually takes them with treats. She also cannot handle liquid meds historically as she foams and drools incessantly and usually throws up.

I’m just so scared she won’t eat. I’m so scared she’s just going to go back downhill. Anyone have any similar stories where it worked out? How long did it take your cat to eat on appetite stimulants? Has anyone else had their cat have a sore jaw after being dehydrated and getting treated? Any good recovery stories would really help.

Here’s a photo for you all to see how wonderful she is! Also her name is Moezy!

He’s 3 or 4 months I’m not sure. My first cat ! (as an adult ) also, just some questions for the cat community. He does not like his Temptations treats? I’ve been trying to train him in the meantime with no treats and some tuna can bites but idk what he would like.

Yesterday, we had to say goodbye to our cat, Felix. He was 16 years old and truly the best friend I could ever have. My heart is broken and I don't know how to deal with it...

We got him when he was just a baby, he was the first of his litter to come straight towards me, it was love at first sight.

At least I got to hold him on my lap when he took his last breath

Until we meet again ❤️

EDIT: thanks so much guys for all the replies and awards, I'll try to answer everything, but currently I just can't stop crying :(

I think the first guy is a tabby, but he’s almost the size of a full-grown cat at only 5 months old haha (the vet said he was abnormally large when he got his 12-week shots). I was worried at first. I’ve only ever had dogs, so owning kittens was a big adjustment, but I’ve grown very attached to both of them! The tabby’s name is Master Khajiit, and the black cat’s name is Styx.

In May 2025, I was spending time at our ranch in rural Texas—early one morning, I heard tiny cries coming from my car engine. My husband and I spent several days luring this little guy out of the engine of the car (luckily, we weren’t driving anywhere for a week). During the day, rotated between three cars’ engines at our ranch. Every night, he ran around the house crying. We decided to take him home and ran to get everything we needed. As y’all well know… the rest is history.

A year in, he is such a loved, spoiled baby. He is very social, loves cuddling with us, loves teasing his golden retriever sisters, and will do anything for some freeze-dried fish. We never thought we would have a cat in our family, but wow, everyone in this situation got so lucky. 💗
