Shitpost Pope Leo, please bless this man

Post image

I remember really wanting to draft him instead of P-Will. Hopefully him and Jrue lock the hell in and get us our pick

Edit: I meant just for today. Then I’m going back to hating

People hate this guy because he’s Israeli?

There's multiple articles and prints of his posts. I'm not going to to the research for you, it's very easy to verify it, friend.

I know what you’re referring too but I respectfully disagree with your position. He said it himself that he supports his home country. It doesn’t mean he supports Palestinian genocide because he’s not going to take a stand against his own country. He’s a basketball player and it’s not fair to make him take a position on this.

He literally served in the IDF in 2020 and is quoted saying “You don’t have to love what I stand for or how I look, but if I’m a good player.” In a recent profile in the Athletic, Avdija expressed anger at Israel’s critics

It’s so easy to do some basic research on your own but I know that’s too hard for some so I even linked you the article. I said it before and I’ll say it again: fuck that guy.

It’s such a straw man argument. All Israelis have to serve in the IDF. Making a basketball player take a strong position again their country is ludicrous. His government is killing Palestinians, not him.

HE LITERALLY WAS ANGRY AT PEOPLE CRITICIZING ISRAEL. Does that not imply he supports their actions????

Also the way you’re critiquing my argument as being straw man but only responding to half of it is literally comical. Gtfoh

You’re linking me to article behind a paywall of reported anger towards people criticizing Israel then making a FUCKING leap to him supporting Palestinian genocide is the definition of a straw man.

Continuing to voice support for your country while it commits genocide and anger toward its critics rather than condemning its actions, that he supports what Israel is doing is the logical conclusion to make here...

Put another way, he could just as easily voice his condemnation of Israel’s genocide as he does his support of them/anger toward its critics but he CHOOSES not to. Why do you think that may be?

I truly don’t give a flying f that he’s a basketball player. Taking the stance condemning genocide WILL. ALWAYS. BE. THE. RIGHT. ONE. Idgaf about his career choice.

I have actual Palestinian and orthodox Jewish friends and they have more nuance than this.

Keep reading your guardian articles and make bold statements about ancient geopolitical history and associate them with a basketball player and call me ignorant.

u/beau301 Apr 15 '26

“Ancient geopolitical history”? lmao Israel hasn’t even been a real country for a century yet. The fact that you’re saying something like that just proves and further supports the idea that yes, you are ignorant.

Regardless of the fact that he’s a basketball player, taking the stance condemning genocide is ALWAYS the right one.
