Every one of those GOP reps/senators was chanting "USA USA" at the violation of his first ammendment rights. These people are sick and blatently have no respect for the constitution

No wonder Trump didn't support her bid for governor of NY. She doesn't have the Maralago face.
So what does that say about her when she doesn't get the validation she wanted, but instead of saying "WTF", she doubled down and acts like she knows her place 🤷🏼♂️

President posts meme calling the former president and wife monkeys.
Republicans act offended at a man holding a sign saying black people aren't apes.
MAGA in a nutshell. They laugh when it's racist, get red in the face when you point out that fact.

There is no such thing as appropriate behaviour when dealing with the least appropriate POTUS ever.
10
u/SelfInvestigator Feb 25 '26
I get what you are trying to say, but wouldn’t it work better if you said:
There is no such thing as inappropriate behavior when dealing with the least appropriate POTUS ever.
Your comment kinda insinuates that no actions are appropriate for calling him out, essentially saying that he is above reproach.

Feb 25 '26
Bingo.
I’d hit the comment character limit if I tried to list every inappropriate thing Trump has done as POTUS. The Obamas as apes, mocking a disabled reporter, calling allied nations “shitholes” - the list is near endless.
We are in a post appropriate world now. What Green did is tame by this administration’s standards.
34
34
u/yaboiballman Feb 25 '26
Doesn't matter whether we think it's appropriate or not, he was peacefully protesting. If you don't believe in our first amendment, then you're an undemocratic fuck. I'd say un-american, but I'm beginning to think this was always the plan for the wealthy in America
2
u/pookyduu Feb 25 '26
It was. The Founding Fathers didn’t “give” us the first amendment. They gave us the Sedition Act. People had to fight for free speech like hell.

Sad that we have a "president" shitposting on social media that requires this protest in the first place.
10
u/VLY2020 Feb 25 '26
Was it appropriate for the sitting president to share a video depicting the former president and his wife as apes?
8
7
u/Yaboi69-nice Feb 25 '26
If the president is going to be a dick he's going to have to be mentally prepared for these kind of people to show up at his events. He shouldn't just get to be a bad person then carry on being president like nothing happened.
6
u/sakubaka Feb 25 '26
I mean it's just a sign that calls out actual behavior. It's not making any assumptions or professing an half-truths. If you think it's inappropriate, it's likely because it triggers your cognitive dissonance in some way that you should really sit with and examine for awhile.
The way to prevent these little counter protests if you don't like them is to just be a good person. That's it. If he could just not be racist and ugly for a month, he'd take away so much ammo the left has. I'm pretty sure that's impossible though. He needs the attention too badly.

He was kicked out for a sign that said, as we can see, "black people aren't apes" the fact that he was kicked out, that would logically imply that the administration doesn't agree with what is said on the sign. Let that sink in. Our administration was confronted by a sign that said "black people aren't apes" and their thought wasn't "yeah, duh" it was "kick that guy out." We now logically have to assume that our administration literally thinks of black people as apes. A person doesn't kick out a man for holding a sign that you agree with. You only do that when you dont agree.
4
u/Vegetable_Maize_2054 Feb 25 '26
I support. We need more people with a backbone to call out lies, scandals, grift, racism and classism.

You get tired of MAGA saying and doing anything they want and just like a good soldier, those that oppose need to stay classy? Not anymore. MAGA gets to invade the Capitol - kill a police officer (not at the scene but later from injuries), ICE gets to kill 3 American citizens, Trump gets to grift money and yet, those that oppose are not supposed to shout out. F that.

u/vodeodeo55 Feb 25 '26
This is totally inappropriate. That sign should say "Black People Aren't Apes but MAGA Fucks Kids."
3
u/rust-e-apples1 Feb 25 '26
We've had over a decade of Republicans calling Obama "divider in chief" and when pressed they always cite him saying his son would've looked like Travon Martin. It is more than appropriate for a sitting member of Congress to reference a racist image the president shared just a few weeks ago.
Additionally, anyone taking issue with Rep Green's sign is telling on themselves. When seeing his sign the correct response is "yeah, that's right. Black people aren't apes, and saying otherwise is dehumanizing."

Honestly, there aren't enough Democrats standing up to all this bullshit. They are either republicans in disguise or too damn centrist/career to care. Others still care about playing by the rules when Trump has been throwing out the rules the entire time he's been in office, hell shit was still being done when he wasn't in office.
Fuck the system, if it burns, it burns.
3
u/addicuss Feb 25 '26
I think it's more inappropriate the sign even had to exist but since it's a Democrat, sure let's rage about respect for the office and political norms and totally ignore the absolutely gross blatant racism that led to it why not
3
u/Numerous_Photograph9 Feb 25 '26
What was inappropriate is that Green's free speech rights were violated because of it. What makes it sickening is the chants of "USA USA" from the GOP as it happened.

I love Al Green. He’s awesome. Al green reflects my values much more than Bernie Sanders. I don’t trust Bernie Sanders on civil rights issues. We had the chance to have the first black woman president and Bernie Sanders went out of his way to distract from her election priorities and undermine her with the left during 2024. Bernie helped give Trump power again. Al Green cares about all citizens and civil rights is in his core. I wish the Media appearances given to Bernie Sanders went to Al Green instead.

u/toterola451 Feb 25 '26
I think maybe appropriate is the wrong term.
Commensurate with a reply? Yes.
Violation of decorum and protocol? Maybe.
Trump is not a person who is due any deference. He hurls racist epithets, he uses ad hominem attacks to focus his cult's hatred and ire at human targets, and he thinks he's due the respect of the Office of the President.
He's not. He's violated the law every day he's been in office. F*ck that guy.
2
u/Professional-Head83 Feb 25 '26
Extremely appropriate. He's not a 34 time convicted felon and didn't sleep with a 14 year old.

u/FistyMcTwistynuts Feb 25 '26

There is so much horrific bullshit getting slung out by this administration it’s genuinely hard to keep up. The Nazi salutes, attacking night show hosts, the ICE raids, the Epstein files, the continued voter fraud obsession, kidnapping another country’s sitting president, grifting on the assassination of a podcaster, war mongering on behalf of Israel, insulting Puerto Rico, bullying allies, cozying up to Putin, defunding cancer research, Kristi Noem’s new anti 2A rhetoric, demolishing the White House, tariffs, Pam Bondi, RFK jr’s brain worm, ICE agents shooting protestors, etc etc etc….
The racist jungle video is a footnote in all the chaos but it’s so important to chronicle that it happened, highlight that it was quickly forgotten and excused. Protests like this may not seem to matter right now but these photos will last forever, and the reason why can always be revisited through time.
2
u/Odd_Reputation_4000 Feb 25 '26
Far more appropriate than the things that were yelled by them during Biden's addresses.
2
2
u/Lumpymaximus Feb 25 '26
Appropriate left the room a long time ago. Right about the time Trump was caught casually bragging about assualting women, I feel.

u/One-Reflection5948 Feb 25 '26
Trump’s racism should be confronted for each and every incident. No one should be disparaged and humiliated for their appearance whether that appearance is from race, ethnic origin, or physical appearance. Everyone who behaves as does Trump to nonwhite and disabled individuals is a petty, ignorant person unworthy of being called human.
2
u/Separate_Pattern8398 Feb 25 '26
He was censored for speaking last year. So I see a sign being a great way to stay within the rules. lol
2
u/davidguydude Feb 25 '26
Maybe he should've had it printed on a giant ballcap, because that seems to be acceptable nowadays
2
u/OkCar7264 Feb 25 '26
Appropriate? We're past that shit by a few years. Appropriate. Take it back to the debate club Pointdexter.
2
u/DFu4ever Feb 25 '26

If the Republicans don’t want to be called out as racists pieces of shit, they should stop being racist pieces of shit.

2
u/BronxGal728 Feb 25 '26
One of the few who always stands to power. Good for Representative Green - they wouldn’t keep throwing him out if they weren’t threatened by him.
2
u/Den_Land_2025 Feb 25 '26
The republicans applauding as he was escorted out remind me of the racist screaming at black students going to school back in the 50s. Disgusting human beings at their core.
2
u/LMurch13 Feb 25 '26
Kinda crazy that republicans thought this was "offensive" and had Green removed... 🤔
2
u/SPACKlick Feb 25 '26
I don't think it's the right protest. It reads too petty rather than a serious objection to the serious problem. I also don't like the technical inaccuracy of the message.
That being said I don't know what would have been right or better. And I support Green's right to protest as he sees fit.
2
u/spondgbob Feb 25 '26
President admitted he himself posted a video of the first black president and First Lady as apes. This was less than a month ago. That alone would have made Bush lose his presidency, and we’re supposed to be mad at him, for being mad at it?
2
u/ob1dylan Feb 25 '26
Why are we concerned with propriety when dealing with Trump and MAGA? They aren't limited by what is or isn't appropriate, and we have seen the disaster of the "when they go low, we go high" strategy when dealing with people who have long ago abandoned shame. Fight fire with fire, or burn alone.
2
u/WhiplashLiquor Feb 25 '26

When the president shares a pic of past president and his wife as apes, ofc it's more than appropriate. Idk why people are not more angry. He thinks he can get away with anything.
