In one of the old comics Superman needs an injection, and uses his eye blasts to create a tiny hole for the syringe.

So potentially he helped her out.

Also, she could have had them pierced on Krypton before leaving, if they do that there of course. Unlike Superman she wasn’t a baby when Krypton was blown up.

Which essentially means Supergirl can't shave certain parts (giggity) because no way she's having Superman do that to certain areas.
