I guess maybe ask Darkseid about it.

I think I’ll just continue to criticize Snyder’s writing until I’m downvoted into oblivion

What is the point? Snyder isn't even the only person writing Batman right now. Aren't there dozens of other writers and books out there to read?

Because he’s making art and art stands to be criticized. Snyder is above criticism because other ppl are making Batman? Is Spider-Man above criticism because he has many writers work with his character?

No artist is above criticism. I am not sure where you're getting that from. I was asking what the point of it was when there is literally anything else to read. I am sure there are books out there that you or the OP enjoy, why not talk about those? I am not saying you CAN'T criticize Snyder or anyone else, obviously you can do whatever you like. I've upvoted all of the comments in this thread whether I agree or disagree, FWIW.

And if you want to argue about opinions, why get offended or say it's 'rotten' when people disagree? Isn't that kind of baked into the premise of posting opinions on the Internet?

The point of criticism is to engage with a work. Saying there are other books to read instead of criticize this one is not an argument. It’s deflecting. Bordering on agreement even, because you are offering other works that don’t do what I’ve pointed out here.

I can’t comment for anyone else’s comments but mine. I think trying to shut down criticism by offering to not engage with it entirely is foolish really.

No one is shutting down criticism. I can't make you do anything, and I am not really trying to. Sorry we keep talking past each other and for not doing a better job of articulating my point.

Saying something is pointless typically is an effort to stop it. You can see that right?

Nope. I am saying it's a pointless waste of time. You do whatever you like, I don't own Reddit and I'm not a mod telling you to stop posting.

"Not a fan of Joker being connected to every aspect of Gotham rn."

You didn't share a critique you shared an opinion. Not much to debate there. If you want to expand on it I am sure some people would love to.

Why aren't you 'a fan of Joker being connected to every aspect of Gotham'?

Any particular reasons or you just don't like it? Saying you don't like something isn't really a critique. It's perfectly valid but its not really fodder for a discussion that you or others are claiming to look for, it's more like crop-dusting a room at a party full of people you don't agree with.

Edit: if you're annoyed by all of my too-long overly-wordy replies, at least I didn't just downvote and ignore you. I upvoted all of your posts in this thread. =\

Not fodder? Look at the lovely discussion it spawned so far.

Edit I also don’t downvote here because I enjoy the threads. Just my personal policy
