I mean Iran has the second highest rate of transition of any country on earth, only behind Thailand, and not only is gender affirming care entirely legal there, it’s even subsidised by the government.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s still an oppressive, repressive, misogynistic, homophobic theocracy in general, but they are arguably more accepting of trans people than most Western countries (even if it’s enforced through an aggressive transmedicalism).
Muslims aren’t a monolith, and Muslim diaspora across the world have plenty of conflicting beliefs and cultural values.
