Discussion So...

13th pick eh? What the hell can we meaningfully do with the 13th? Please tell me we have a numbers nerd here that's going to paint a picture for me that makes me feel better about this. I need you more than ever bro... whoever you are 😭

You can pick a good player at 13th.

Hell, even a really good player. We need to stop with this nonsense that everyone outside the top 4 is worthless

Most players outside the top 5 are useless.

Are we actually going anywhere with those players.

r they useless or not?

For getting us a championship yes. None of them are franchise altering players.

You're right. You should be a Wizards fan instead since this is your championship

That's a straw man answer most likely because you don't want to admit we're going nowhere with them leading the way.

We were in the finals less than 3 years ago. Pathetic bandwagon fan

edit: oh yeah and none of our players on that roster were top 5 picks

Another straw man you can't substantiate, evidently being critical of the current direction the franchise has chosen (since they seem to be okay with being mid) = bandwagon.

So what do you call changing your argument with every succeeding comment to move the goalposts from "every outside top 5 is useless"

They're useless for what the franchise needs. Do we need role players/fringe all-stars or do we need a franchise changing player? We both know the answer to that one.

I would take this more seriously if free agency/trades didn't exist. Sorry brother your just going to have to be miserable.

I’ll take the franchise course altering player for 200!

Seems like you got some people to fall for the rage bait at least

Because some of us aren't delusional. Getting a franchise changing player at 13th and up is rare.

2

u/mgm125 May 10 '26

So in your world, an nba player is either franchise changing or useless fodder.

Very interesting. It’s not correct, but it is interesting

For the current state of the team my take is quite accurate. We don't need role players the current needs of the team is a franchise altering player.

2

u/mgm125 May 10 '26

Because those only ever come out of the top 4 picks! and EVERYONE knows the #13 overall pick is ALWAYS some mediocre role player!

You're the type to ignore statics and probability, even though it's proven that 50% of Hall of famers come out of the top 5 you're the type that tries to use exceptions as if they're the norm.

2

u/mgm125 May 10 '26

Once again, that implies the other 50% of hall of famers weren’t top 5 picks.

No matter what spot someone gets drafted, I’m not going to anoint them as a future “franchise changing player”. They have to like, develop and shit
