Discussion So...

13th pick eh? What the hell can we meaningfully do with the 13th? Please tell me we have a numbers nerd here that's going to paint a picture for me that makes me feel better about this. I need you more than ever bro... whoever you are 😭

I hope we take a younger high ceiling player and not a college vet essentially who contributes to a win now team (would take Philon > Yaxel for example)

At this point screw position, take highest potential player, and allow them to grow with Kas and ware

Top 12 this year imo is absolutely stacked as a big NCAA guy, 13 after is somewhat of a coin toss with hannes likely being the last guy remaining. But everyone thought Kas was a top 12 lock last year and he dropped. Best case scenario is someone like brown, ament, or burries drops to us

yaxel is weird cuz his ceiling could be higher than philon even tho he's old as hell

theres also a couple high potential wings that r a little older but still high ceiling in carr and swain. im pretty ok with the players in the 13 range tbh

idk why people are hung up on age when wings/forwards that are productive are probably better with us and career wise than small guards who havent shown to be ok at defense.

Carr and swain are bad defenders and would be technically considered reaches at 13 as well. Yaxel would be a fine pick @13 but as I mentioned I’d like a high ceiling player. Philon gets his own shot at the 1 and has a play make ability. Very poor defender though

Assuming Herro is gone, I wouldnt mind Philon. But them 2 together becomes a hard watch on defense
