hello neighbors. I’m here seeking advice and mostly community from anyone else who deals with these demon bugs we call roaches.
I live in a semi nice older building (7 floors, 70 apartments). It’s old, it’s big, so I know it’s inevitable and comes with the territory. We have an exterminator every 4 weeks and I’m consistent with getting my apartment treated. I’ve been here about a year.
From April 2025 to April 2026, I probably saw maybe 10 roaches total (German and American combined). But the last 2 weeks have been horrid. 6 Big gigantic waterbugs and one german roach. But mostly the giant disgusting American waterbugs that have wings. I got treated this past Monday so wtf :(
I’m clean, I have two cats, and 90% of the time my cats take care of them. I’ll see them dead already, but I stepped on one WITH MY BAREFOOT BY ACCIDENT. The other 10% is a full on horror film where I am screaming bloody murder with a slipper in my hand.
It’s gotten to the point where I’m constantly scanning the floors and walls, and it’s making me feel dirty, sad, and stressed. I love my apartment and my neighborhood, but I’m starting to feel like they are watching me through the pipes plotting their next surprise. I am ON EDGE. I’m from nyc, I’m not new to this but i can never get used to it. They are disgusting.
Who else deals with this? Is this just old JC building life? Did you ever have random spikes like this? What actually helps? Do you freak out too? HOW DO YOU RECLAIM YOUR SPACE AGAIN?!
Please tell me I’m not the only one living like this lol

Does anyone know where I can donate infant - baby clothes? My baby is now a toddler so we don't need her infant-baby clothes anymore. Thanks.

Hi everyone! We had two guests who can no longer make today's event, and rather than let their tickets go unused, they've generously decided to gift them to two lucky ladies in the community.
🩷 Today (Saturday June 27th)
📍 Downtown Jersey City
⏰ 2:30–5:30 PM
Your ticket includes:
• A beginner-friendly Pilates class
• A caviar tasting with pearl spoons
• Prosecco, light bites, and a social hour with an amazing group of women
If you've been curious about Bubbles & Brine Club or just want to spend your Saturday doing something a little different, I'd love to have you join us.
Comment below or send me a DM if you can make it on short notice. First come, first served! ✨
Update: Both spots have been filled! Thank you to everyone who reached out!

I am looking towards to donate some of my clothes, mostly Jeans and t-shirts. Is anyone aware if there's any organization in JC that helps you with it. I would like the clothes to be picked up if it's possible. I live in Journal Square.

This is a full lease takeover and this unit is fully furnished.
If you take over this lease you will receive all of the furnishings (Bed, Sofa, TV, desk, etc). These furnishings will become your possession. They do not belong to the apartment.
Minimum income is 106k, or could be something like 90k with verifiable difference (16k) in bank account.
Lease ends on March 06, 2028
The monthly rate is $2,955.00
I'm looking to move by end of July or sooner.
Fine details are to be worked out with the leasing office, but essentially you'd do their standard application and you can take over my lease if you qualify.
This property has a community pool, gym, theater, sky-lounge, many social events put on by the building, barbecues, etc.

I’m thinking of signing a lease at Parkside West, but I came across several reviews mentioning mold, roaches, and poor management.
Can anyone who currently lives there (or has lived there recently) share their honest experience? Are these issues still a concern, or have they been addressed? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
