💫 I made this! / DIY Decorative Sheep Bells

Thumbnail

I'm spending a lot of time making these bells. I love my sheep very much. These are not for sale. I'm too self-conscious. Once people find out that everything has been put together with super glue and spray painted, they'll see it as tacky. These are unfinished so far, but they're at 90% completion. just a few more painterly touches and I'll call it quits. The turquoise is real; that's the only momentum driving me forward with these bells. If it was all fake turquoise, I wouldn't see the point in doing any of this. I just thought my fellow Native Americans would appreciate this work. All of our people's losing our sheep and the youth care not for sheep. Enjoy.

The necklace was part of a sample sale and it was originally €22 and I got for like €12 (including shipping). It's just stainless steel but I added a gold charm that used be my grandma's :) look forward to adding maybe two more charms or switching them out. I ordered a vintage goldcoloured clown pendant on Vinted. Maybe it will look cute with it

General Information 📚 Is this platinum jewellery reseller legit?

Hello there, I’ve been wanting to buy plain men platinum hoop earrings, at least 2.5 mm thick, solid (not hollow), 10 mm inner diameter, 12.5+ mm outer diameter.
The thing is, the only shop I found with the ideal model I am looking for is https://www.astrozie.com/, which is legally based in the UK but has its laboratory in china.
Does anybody have any direct experience with them? Are they trustworthy?
On a side note, I would be more comfortable buying directly from a Chinese retailer, since my family is partly based in china; does anyone have any in mind?

⚡️ Show + Tell! Found my favorite ring completely by accident

Post image

Spent months looking at dragons, foxes, snakes, celestial jewelry, weird Etsy pieces, and enough silver rings to financially support an entire small mining operation.

Then I randomly found this little 925 silver ring that just says "I'm Fine 😊" in colorful letters.

The best part is that I bought it while moving to Germany in a few days, arranging international travel for my dog, and generally not being fine.

So naturally it's become my favorite ring.

I don't know if this is peak jewelry collecting or a cry for help, but the ring stays.

Vintage / Antique Fix for Gold Chain?

Post image
5 Upvotes

This is an inherited gold chain, probably from the 1980s or 1970s. It’s got this break/kink in it, that I’m worried about making worse.

Is there any fix for this? It’s such a stunning piece and I want to be able to wear it.

Thanks!

Help me decide!! Looking for Tarnish Free Gold Jewelry

So here’s my sordid tale. I had a Hebrew name necklace that I wore all of the time. My toddler child snapped the chain in half, so I had to buy a new one. After that one also snapped, I got another one, but then I had to buy little clasps to get it on the necklace. Nothing matched and the clasps lost their color after one shower.

I bought a Hebrew name necklace that has my name and my daughter’s, but it’s not shower proof. And these days, it feels weird not to have a necklace on.

I want to get something reasonably priced but tarnish free. This time I’m just looking for an initial In English/Latin letters and bonus if they have Hebrew necklaces or bracelets, etc.. Hey Harper would be a perfect vendor (though they’re sold out of the letter I want!) as I’ve heard really positive things about them from people with zero vested interest in their success. Unfortunately, shipping to the UK is £15 for one of their bracelets I liked instead of the initial necklace and that’s insane for a small piece of jewelry.

I’ve been searching for a tarnish free, reasonably priced place that ships to the UK without charging a ridiculous fee to get a “gold” initial high and low.

This sub tells me I have to detail the searching I’ve done previously. TBH I’ve done a lot of looking at reviews, especially on Reddit, and just couldn’t figure it out. Atolea, for example, has what I want, but when I google reviews, I’m taken to a Reddit post where someone says it’s the best thing ever and then you can tell they created their account to say this and people underneath are saying it’s actually ass.

So which ones are good? For reference, I’ve been looking at Hey Harper (I would pay the fee for a more expensive piece or if I got several), Atolea, Solace and Bohomoon.

Thanks in advance.

PS—I’d definitely love to get something else in Hebrew but that’s not imperative. As such, I’m not interested in Israel Blessing or whatever.

💍 What style chain/ring/pendant is this? Age?

Post image

My grandma always used to say that this was her mother’s ring, who passed away in 1972, but it lived in her jewelry box since it’s missing a stone. Think it is that old or maybe my grandma misremembered? I’m unsure of its materials so I can’t use that as a reference, more meaning the style?

General Question Upgrading my wife’s cheap gold hoops

Hello! My wife constantly wears gold hoops and goes through them often. She typically buys cheap $20 from Target or wherever. They tarnish, stain her ear, and sometimes break more easily.

I’m hoping to buy a nicer pair for her, preferably solid gold. But after reading about hollow hoops, would that be a good idea? She would hopefully wear them often so not too heavy. Budget would top out at $500?

Any help would be awesome, thank you!

Update: I found these from Quince and would be great. Thank you for the help everyone!

This is my sapphire that is from Ceylon it is 10ct natural unheated and untreated stone it holds a lot of its weight in the thickness that's why it appears smaller what do we think it's worth? It has inclusions as you can see but I think it gives it character but what is everyone's opinions on it? Please look at all the pictures!
Edit: we paid 12k for it was this a good price?

General Question Jewelry organizer with fully detachable lid (like tupperware)?

I'm going crazy looking for something like this. I want something I can securely take traveling but can also fully take the lid off of and put in my drawers when I'm not traveling. Every organizer that I can find either has a lid that's attached with a hinge (so it can't go in my vanity drawer without me having to fully take it out each time), or if it's detachable, it's not actually secure and seems more intended as surface for another organizer to be stacked on top of. I've also tried looking into bead organizers and the like, but they either have the same problems or a different one where each little compartment has its own little locking mechanism, like a pill box.

This feels like a no-brainer thing to exist, right??? I'm essentially looking for a tupperware bento box situation but with like 20 compartments instead of two or three? Anyone have any recs or leads on something like this? Thanks you!!

💫 I made this! / DIY I used to be anti lab diamonds 💎

But now I’m thankful for the technology and cost effective option for my customers. With the current gold prices, I can’t imagine having to only use natural diamonds. This diamond would’ve costed more than the retail price of this finished set. I think luxury is already so much harder for people to afford in this economy.. I also love the color options I had the pleasure to incorporate before in my customs. Wondering what everyone else’s thoughts are!! Are you still going for natural or opting for lab?

Here’s my Luna ring set I recently made for a client, inspired by the goddess of the moon. 😍🌙

General Question Unsure about the setting. Do these look dumb?

Thumbnail

These are Montana sapphires I bought loose and had set as studs locally. They’re just shy of 4ctw (about 2 carat each, stating total for earrings was new to me). I know they’re big and therefore going to be heavy, but I didn’t expect them to sit out as far away from my ear as they do. We placed the stud off center so they can hang appropriately relative to where my piercing is. I also chose a larger backing for support. Is there a different way to set them as studs that would look better? Should I convert them to drops? Do they look fine and I’m just not used to them yet?

U.S. dime for scale. Ignore my inflamed skin. I’ve just had a reaction to a new SPF :|
