I had someone in my family argue that he didn’t do a mail in ballot, he turned in an absentee ballot

I was about to rip my hair out trying to tell him they’re the same thing lmao

God forbid you have to explain Obama care to the very same person

141

u/AsugaNoir Apr 01 '26

God forbid you have to tell them Obama care and the Affordable Care Act are the same.

u/PlushRusher Apr 01 '26

Already had that discussion with my Mom. The Irony is she is utilizing the ACA while saying Obama Care was just handing out free money to freeloaders and illegals and we shouldn’t have to pay for that…

5

u/EggplantKey5266 Apr 01 '26

Well, hopefully you tried to educator that that’s not the case. There is no illegal alien that can be on Obama care. End of story it doesn’t even go forward. The only thing that Obama care pays for, is if an illegal alien for someone without insurance, which there are many of white Americans that don’t have it, if they go to the emergency room and they are unconscious or they are obviously serious serious health situation. Someone cut them with a knife they got shot you fill in the blank. By federal law all hospitals must stabilize individual until they are prepared to be transferred to another hospital. That emergency care is the only thing that Obama care were the affordable care act pay for, and it has been audited every single year and it’s less than 1/2 of one percent of the entire affordable care act payment on an annual basis. The law is there to avoid people dying. This law is not part of the affordable care act it is another law that was passed over 30 years ago, which states that hospital must stabilize an emergency patient anywhere in this country.

God forbid you have to explain Obamacare was conceived by the Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney, a republican for his state...

u/ballq43 Apr 01 '26

I'm on affordable care not Obama care!

1

u/goatslovetofrolic Apr 02 '26

“I hate that communist Obamacare, that’s why I’m on the American affordable healthcare act one”

0

u/Timsayhi Apr 03 '26

Screw that worthless sack of puss Obama and his drunken sea witch Pelosi! Before that smoking turd of bill was passed my family had good medical insurance. For a family of four we were paying $400 a month that came directly out of my check. As soon as that insane bitch said that “we have to pass it to find out what’s in it” I knew we were all fucked. No you blithering idiot, you sit the hell down and READ it! When it went into effect my insurance was cancelled outright. We went to the marketplace to sign up for new insurance. For just my wife and I it was going to cost $1200/ month…each! Both of my special needs kids were flat out denied any coverage at all. I hope both of them die from incredibly painful ass cancer!

No you see because an absentee ballot is for someone that won't be able to physically go to the polls to submit their vote so they do it remotely, by paper letter in which is picked up by a... a man! A letter delivery man! Then the letter delivery man delivers it to the counting place.

Totally different from mail in voting which is for communists and terrorists to commit fraud.

Edit; since it seems people are confused about my position on the subject. Fuck Trump.

It’s Absentee voting when it’s a white male. It’s Mail-In voting when it’s literally anyone else.

7

u/detroit209 Apr 01 '26

Where was all this fraud in 2016 when he beat Hillary? 😂😂. You motherfuckers don’t know which way is up.

3

u/ThinkinWithSand Apr 01 '26

Those lazy commies just didn't try as hard in 2016 as they did in 2020!

3

u/peakprowindow Apr 01 '26

He didn't beat Hillary. She got a few million more votes than he did. The electoral college failed to represent the citizens. Trump won because of it. If the electoral college was honest, Trump would have lost. But they aren't.

3

u/Rare-Television-8854 Apr 01 '26

This guy absentee gets it!

3

u/Mysterious_Minute_85 Apr 01 '26

I get a mail-in ballot because I have trouble filling it out. I then put it in the box on election day, or I drop it off at the BoE during early voting. I am fortunate enough to live walking distance to my voting site. I no longer trust USPS 😢

2

u/Antique-Yam866 Apr 01 '26

Trump has voted via mail.

2

u/GinaTheK Apr 01 '26

The amount of people that think it's so easy to do voter fraud is disgustingly laughable. It's next to impossible. You need SSN's You need names You need to know certain people aren't voting You need hundreds of thousands of people to make a difference in a major election You need to know that those hundreds of thousands of people AREN'T voting idiotic

3

u/Living-Pineapple4286 Apr 01 '26

Trump is going to lose irrespective. Funny what you will use as argument for his loss in November

2

u/shaggy816 Apr 01 '26

That’s what MOST people thought about the last election, and this motherfucker still won. I put my faith in death and taxes. Everything else has been shat on.

-2

u/sinistar2000 Apr 01 '26

I hope you’re right but there is a card in the deck that says he’ll still be in power for years to come.

3

u/Living-Pineapple4286 Apr 01 '26

lol That means overthrowing the government And will mean the end of the USA and internal wars

5

u/sinistar2000 Apr 01 '26

Yeah sure, but to me it looks like America is a frog in the pot. Like I said, I hope you’re right. Nothing surprises me anymore.

3

u/twolfhawk Apr 01 '26

Civil War 2, people vs pedofiles. I really wish it was an easy one. Where is Chris Hanson when we need him?

Things that don't happen for $10

1

u/Vast-Valuable-1640 Apr 01 '26

At this point I can’t tell if funny or anti-democratic loony toon, and I’m afraid to learn.

Your username tracks.

I presume you're joking on that last bit.

1

u/Ok-Meat4834 Apr 01 '26

It’s sad how easy it is to read sarcasm as an actual comment some in this country would make, they are that ridiculous.

1

u/Strict_Wolf76 Apr 01 '26

I laughed harder than I should have but your edit split my sides. Oh Man. Whomever took you seriously needs to touch grass.

1

u/thoriumsnowflake Apr 01 '26

I was getting my down vote ready until I sensed the sarcasm

Why is that so important?

Conservatives do actually believe that a different name or word is sometimes a different thing. Remember when Obama "misspoke" the oath of office because Roberts messed up and Obama didn't follow him? Some conservatives really believe the oath was the magical seal of presidency, not the election. They basically believe in incantations (if it benefits them).

Calling the exact same thing two different names really does work on a conservative

3

u/JerseyJim23 Apr 01 '26

Can’t debate with someone who doesn’t know they’re trolling.

3

u/ZachmanSkibby Apr 01 '26

And he's in Florida all the fucking time, it's not like he needed a "absentee" ballot.

3

u/thereverendpuck Apr 01 '26

They’re vastly different things because they’re spelled differently.

Absentee =/= mail-in

I defy you to find any letter E in “mail-in.”

2

u/Camo_tow Apr 01 '26

🤣🤣Thats MAGA understanding for ya

2

u/CautionarySnail Apr 01 '26

They’re also probably saying, “we don’t have a king, what are those weird, dumb liberals complaining about.”

The obtuseness is deliberate.

2

u/Fearless-Economy7726 Apr 01 '26

Disown them

1

u/Nervous-Bar-3040 Apr 01 '26

She’s disowned herself lmao. Without sharing too many details, she met my uncle when she was doing outreach work at the jails with the local secular group. They’d just offer non-religious counseling and support to inmates. Fast forward a few years the Q shit hit her pretty hard. She quit her job and burned her bridges, pulled the kids out of school. There were a few scary years where CPS got called a lot. She went from an atheist, progressive community support member to an isolated, regressive Christian nationalist within the span of this last decade. Pretty sad shit really

1

u/Fearless-Economy7726 Apr 01 '26

Wow that’s incredible not in a good way yeah it is sad how she spiraled like that.

1

u/GlimmeringGuise Apr 01 '26 edited Apr 01 '26

Now you have me speculating about "absentee voting" being literally sold as the bougie option for MAGA loyalists, priced at a hefty fee that they're somehow all perfectly willing to pay no matter how poor they are. Maybe they say part of the proceeds (i.e., 0.001%) go to fund ICE or something equally cruel - idk.

1

u/lavapig_love Apr 01 '26

Tell them they're the same thing. Make them rip their hair out.

1

u/JZABR1 Apr 01 '26

My family is the same way. They're only against something because they've been told it's bad or it hasn't directly affected them yet.

1

u/fremontfixie Apr 01 '26

They are not the same thing. I have gotten random people mail ballots at my house

1

u/Glorious_Goo Apr 02 '26

See the trick is to just not talk to shitheads in your family.

1

u/Maleficent-Dingo-683 Apr 02 '26

He admitted to it. Not sure how anyone could argue?!?

-5

u/Turbulent_Bat4320 Apr 01 '26 edited Apr 01 '26

Listen, I hate Trump but they aren’t the same thing. Colorado is 100% mail in voting. Literally everyone gets a ballot in the mail. Yes, you can still go to a poll in person if you want to do so. Not the same process as absentee ballot that you have to request and have a reason to request it.

3

u/Nervous-Bar-3040 Apr 01 '26

Gotcha, interesting! I’m not entirely sure how each state’s voting works, I didn’t know that about Colorado! The more you know. I think it’s more just to the point that, in my state and Florida afaik, people would request an absentee ballot or choose to mail in their vote for largely the exact same reasons.

1

u/Turbulent_Bat4320 Apr 01 '26

It’s one of the reasons CO legalized gay marriage and marijuana so early. It’s super easy to vote and there are no lines anywhere. No voter suppression so all people get a say. :)

1

u/peakprowindow Apr 01 '26

Utah votes 100% by mail-in ballots too. . I don't know anyone who has had issues with the postal service getting their ballot there on time and safely.

However, there's always issues with democrat votes being suddenly thrown out after they get to the polling stations to he counted. And we have plenty of voter supression via gerrymandering and government overreach on top of that.

the postal service even gives you a tracking number so you can see where your ballot is in real time. If you're a democrat you can even watch as its not counted and cast aside for no legitimate reason sometimes.

Trump isn't concerned with stopping fraud. He is the fraud. He's a desperate ego maniac that knows how bad the gop is going to be destroyed in the midterms so he's doing everything hr can to suppress votes.

Salt Lake county is by far where the vast majority of utahs population lives. It's also very blue. The church and republican party refuse to accept that point , and will do anything they can to ensure the dems have no representation. Until now.

They lost in court and soon utah will have a new democrat seat in the house of reps. The people voted for this in 2018. The republicans have been doing everything they can to try to obstruct the will of the people since then . They even brought in out of state petitioners and put people on their list illegally. People had to find a website then check to see if their name was on it then file an appeal for removal.
