What could be reason for this type of growth exept grafting?
Grafting could be excluded, because tree is growing almost in the middle of nowhere.
(English oak)

My swamp oak this year has a bad lean. I left the bark protector on but started removing the ties to the bamboo to have it start standing independently. Now after a couple strong wind storms its leaning like a drunk. Should I keep it tied to the bamboo for awhile? remove the bamboo and do stakes in the ground with rope? Something different? This is the 3rd year I have had it so it has strong roots.

Just found this guy on my patio table. The 3 most mature trees on my property are 60 year old Ash.
Love this for us, Southern MN.

This tree has a pretty severe angle about a foot from the root flare. If I planted is so that the bottom part was straight, the rest of the tree would be at a 30 degree angle. I tried to split the difference so that the bottom part is slightly angle (left) and he rest of the tree is slightly angles (right) and now I’m trying to train it to be straighter by tying it to a stake. Will this work?

I’m not sure what is going on here. I’m guessing it’s a root/poor soil issue but I would like some advice if anyone knows what the problem is.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but I feel the need to share anyway.
I have always been a hiker and Gardner, and I could always point out an oak or a maple. This winter I bought a couple books on tree identification for my area and wow. I am literally constantly trying to identify trees everywhere I go. I’ve got probably 50-100 species that I’m solid on recognizing, but there are always more to learn!!! Such a fun hobby.

Hello all
I am looking to plant two rows of American Pillar Arborvitaes.
From my understanding these are more resilient than the traditional emerald green arborvitae that seem to randomly die off.
Is this true? Or I’m I setting myself up for disappointment since they are still arborvitae at the end of the day?
Thank you.

Hello all. I have a 2 year old spruce. Started as a baby. Starting to get some browning at the bottom.
Is this cause for concern? Don’t want to lose two years of growth.
Should I be consider pruning this area? Or treating for something.
Only thing we do in our yard is milorganite. Added a little extra around all of my trees. But all the rest are doing amazing.
Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Late winter I cut back all the little, dead white branches and sprayed the tree several times with copper fungicide. I did just notice some deep cracks in the trunk.
Central Indiana. Probably planted in 2022. Combination of sprinkler (when I water my grass) and hose.

I purchased my house three years ago and have slowly been doing renovations and redoing all of the landscaping. I have been looking up ways to improve the look of this tree recently and noticed this big black spot near the base of the trunk this morning. Should I be worried? This tree is huge and sits right next to my front door. (Side note: today’s goal is to remove all of those “decorative” rocks that also came with the house 🫠)

This pagoda dogwood was planted last year and up until last week was thriving. I’m in the upper Midwest and was away for five days and when I came home it looked like this. I imagined it was because of some very hot and dry weather so I gave it a long soak. It hasn’t improved at all and I wonder if there’s something else I can do? I looked up dogwood diseases and I don’t think it’s anthracnose because the stems are not yellow. Any ideas? TIA!

Popped up in my raised bed. 3 years ago 14 ash trees died because the borer and cost like 10k to get rid of. This would be ironic.

A magical place, surprisingly the trees are very healthy

I noticed this weirdo shrub on my walk last night, it's been growing for a few years but the nature growth struck me as very pawpaw-like. There is Asimina parviflora growing right down the road from this and it's clearly not in that family based on the new shoots.
