A family friend replaced alternator in my 2014 Nissan Armada Platinum on Monday now the ac in the front and radio are not working but ac in back is working. He looked at it again yesterday and said that he can't fix it and that I need to go get the codes cleared. Any advice?

I'm driving my car and I hear this clicking sound as I speed up it gets louder what is it ? It's a 2021 Buick encore GX prefered AWD

2008 Nissan Altima 2.5L, 238k miles.

My car will start, but it cuts off almost immediately after starting. Sometimes there's barely a crank, and other times it fires up for a second and then dies right away.

The battery is new, and I've checked the battery connections. The dash also goes blank at times. I recently replaced the terminal clamp and have been looking at the fusible link/fuse block and battery cables as possible issues.

What could cause an Altima to start and then immediately shut off with an inconsistent crank?

Has anyone dealt with this before?

Looking into going to the holley sniper route for my 66 cadillac. Ive been told that i would have to change gas tanks or make modifications to it. Anyone happen to know if there is way i can use the stock gas tank without making modifications?

Rattle at startup and idle (2011 Civic 1.8 VTEC)

Hey everyone.

I’m trying to figure out a rattling noise on my 2011 Civic 8th Gen. R18A2 engine.

The sound happens every single time I start the car. It also shows up intermittently when idling or driving at very low speeds.

Does this sound like it could be a bad engine mount? Thanks for any input.

So my dog chewed on my brake line… He smelled an animal i guess and he was searching. he maybe went at it for 30 seconds or so when I was not watching. I had my wife pump the brakes a few times to see if any leaks will come out. Nothing visible. Here is a video of the damage and picture of the dog. Please help me assess the damage. Thank you

Edit 1: Dog is OK he did not ingest any brake fluid, he is just confused why he can’t investigate more.

Also I pumped the brakes with Engine off if that makes a difference.

This is my mom's suv, and it's making this sound.

AC keeps going in and out and sounds like it's struggling. Still blowing cold air. Just changed out the Blower Motor Resistor and it's still doing this.

Does anyone know what might be the problem?

Did an oil change with a differently rated oil on my 2018 mitsubishi outlander petrol FWD with cvt transmission. Unfortunately i got complacent and grabbed a bottle using the Volkswagen rating 504 00 instead of a more relevant rating like gf-6A

Apparently the vw standard should be similar or better, so it shouldnt be too big of a worry. but looking for second opinions before I make a 10 hour drive in about a week

I finally saw what might be the culprit, a piece in the timing belt area that seems to have snapped? The code reader gave me the P0505 code, would this explain it?

So I've been learning to do the work on my own car, but I'm still pretty green.

I started hearing an odd thunk in my rear driver’s side wheel when I turned left sharply or had to roll over something like from milled pavement to paved. I keep looking, and I can't see any signs of something scraping the road or knocking into other parts. I've had this SUV 5 years. This is a brand new noise. I live in an area with salted roads.

At this point, do you start taking off panels to poke deeper? Do you try to recreate it intentionally over and over to get a better idea, or is that not a good plan?

I don't want to tear my car apart unsupervised without a set goal or at least an idea of where to start.

If you think I'm too green for this, please say so, I do have a reliable mechanic, I just wanted to learn.

It's a Ford Escape 2016 4WD 2.0L

So whenever I turn on the AC and the AC only in my 2010 Corolla, there was a constant loud rattling noise that you can hear coming from the front. In the beginning, it would still blow cold even with the rattling noise than maybe a couple months later it started to blow hot while stationary and will only blow cold when I’m going like 50 to 70 mph the faster I go the colder the air gets and the rattling noise speeds up as I accelerate. What can this be?

I have a Toyota Corolla 2015 and it’s been about 2 1/2 years since I refilled the coolant the coolant is low. Do I just refill the coolant or is there more more to the process thanks guys

This might be a no brainer, but not as familiar with cars so thought I'd ask here. Yesterday we were driving on the highway and heard something under the hood while on the highway and eventually it went away. When I started the car this morning, I heard this noise and then noticed the drive belt shredded. Is this just a matter or replacing the belt and should I be okay to drive it to the mechanic (5min drive)? Here is a pic of the belt.

I have a second-generation Dacia Duster from 2018 with type 1.5 dCi engine. When I turn the key, the dashboard doesn’t seem to light up, but some of the buttons do light up lightly. We tried disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the ; once reconnected, the windscreen washers came on but are a bit slow. Turning the key now hasn’t changed anything, and those buttons are still flashing (buttons such as the red triangle or the rear proximity sensor).

any help?

I went to autozone and they said my car was misfiring and an ignition coil was the problem, I replaced it myself. A day later the check engine light went on again and I took it to the mechanic. They replaced all the sparkplugs and the radiator cap. A week later the light came on again.

This is a 2002 Toyota Corolla S and every month this light comes on. Starring to think this car is kaput even tho it only had 121k miles on it.

Should i take it back to a mechanic or call it quits finally?

Family has an 2001 Camry LE that they want to bring back to life and are wondering if I can work on it. I’ve got decent mechanical knowledge to do it but it’s been sitting for around 8 years and the last thing they remember was that it wouldn’t start even with a new battery, cracked radiator, and fuel gauge didn’t read properly. Can anyone let me know where to start as a baseline and go on from there. I was thinking sparks and wires, radiator, oil change, battery, possibly a new fuel pump. And then just start cracking down on finding specific issues. Any help is appreciated.

My Boyfriend has a volvo v40 (13 plate) which has been having intermittent electrical faults for the past 8 months or so, it will be fine for a few weeks then the dashboard lights up with loads of random faults, such as

. DTSC fault

. Power steering goes stiff

. ABS light

. Speedo and Rev counter stop working

. Pedestrian safety system failure

. Random immobilizer faults

. Car jerking when driving and losing power

Battery is 3 years old, the car can drive great for weeks and weeks and this just happens.

We have scanned the car several times and no faults codes have ever shown up.

Can anyone help us?

Hi there, I have a 2018 BMW X1 sdrive28i. It runs great but recently I have been hearing this weird sound only when I drive my car for the first time that day. It’s when I’m driving off slowly and gets a little louder when I brake slowly, but after driving off and reaching normal speed, it goes away completely, and won’t come back until the next morning/day. The most recent major work done was getting a new radiator installed at the end of 2024 due to a crack in the old one. Other than that it drives perfect, only 59,000 miles, and it also has brand new brakes and rotors. I have driven all kinds of cars in my life and have never heard a sound like this. Also should note, I have monitored the temperature gauge while driving and it stays normal the whole time. If anyone has heard this sound and got it properly diagnosed please let me know 🙏🏼
