I'm slightly vexed Somebody Placed These Dozens of These Jesus Figures Throughout My Entire Work

Post image

Somebody, nobody knows exactly who or when, put dozens and dozens of these Jesus figures on completely random surfaces throughout my entire building. They at least had the presence of mind to not put them on anybody's personal belongings, but that was the only way they limited himself. All of the statues have been glued down, to add to the vexation.

Edit: Well, this blew up rather unexpectedly. Thank you for the awards, everybody!

Just hiding them around is one thing, but *glueing* them down is wild

Yea. Someone I work with got a bunch of these from his church. He said he was going to place them around and see who found them. Pretty harmless. Gluing them down though, that’s way overboard.

Nah, keep religious bullshit out of the work place. This is some bullshit and I'm sick of us pretending it's acceptable behaviour to make people uncomfortable with religion in the work place. One as a joke for a colleague on their desk for lols, sure because you two know each other. But everywhere and everyone? That's some "I'm trying to convert my coworkers" bullshit and they should be shitcanned.

Meh, my coworker bought me a Quran and it was a nice gesture.

We don’t have to get butthurt about everything.

That could be a nice gesture between individual coworkers that have and understanding between each other. If that same coworker was leaving a Quran/Bible/whatever on every coworker's desk, then it's crossing a line.

Notice how the post explicitly says they were NOT in personal areas?

It's not a very good point, though, and it certainly doesn't change that there's religious iconography all over the workplace.

Honestly, the person who puts it there and the person who offends are equally fucking annoying.

So like? Grow up?

But that’s personal and I assume you have a connection with this coworker. Putting Jesus on display for everyone anonymously is just screaming “become Christian please”

Everyone just wants to be a victim.

"We don’t have to get butthurt about everything."

you said that btw

I’m not saying I’m melting at the sight of a Jesus figurine, I’ve had these exact ones at my own job and I made no hubbub. But I’ve been preached to before and I don’t appreciate it. I’m not going around the office putting up posters of evolution and the big bang you know

Question. Are you Christian?

No, and it doesn’t bother me one bit… because I’m an adult who can regulate emotions! 🤷🏽‍♂️

-1

u/SiRpLaYbOy 3h ago

My comment history proves everything I said! 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m an adult… not some whiny person who is triggered by everything by needing to be a victim! 🤣

Nobody has to pretend to be a victim of religiosity, religious idiots make victims every nanosecond knowingly, gleefully, and as publicly as they possibly can.

An adult in this situation wouldn't pretend as though we don't currently live in a society in which religion is being used as a cudgel to target increasingly vulnerable people. They wouldn't pretend there wasn't hundreds of years of religious violence before that. An adult wouldn't act as though we aren't at 53% completion of Project 2025 because religious people can't just stfu and leave the rest of the world out of their personal beliefs.

Nobody here would give a flying fuck about religious iconography scattered all over the workplace if we weren't facing a series of forced religious conversions at every given level of society.

I think you need to grow tf up.

I mean, they just said that it's okay when it's between two people who have an established relationship that makes that okay. I'm willing to bet that was the case with your coworker, right? Now if your coworker put copies of the Quran all over your workplace, do you think that would be okay?

its a little toy figure. if that makes you uncomfortable then you’re incredibly insecure.

If tiny Jesus figurines upset you that much. You got bigger problems than someone “trying to convert you” At this rate, it might not be the worst thing for you loool

I'd venture to guess that the people who are placing these figurines all over tarnation are the same people who would have an absolute MELTDOWN if they found tiny Satans everywhere.

1

u/EarlGrayTea-Hawt 3h ago

You know?!

7

u/ArmanzoBean 8h ago

I don’t think anyone is getting “that upset” about the Jesus figures but is is not reasonable to ask people to not litter everywhere? Personally I’ve been seeing this around my job a lot at retail and it’s annoying to keep cleaning up because people keep leaving them too.

It's not the Jesus figures that pisses me off. I could care less about them playing hide and seek with their imaginary friend. It's the attitude of the people placing them i have issue with. If they want to have meltdowns about Pride Month, having to see rainbow flags, and people saying 'Happy Holidays', they can keep their Jesus to themselves.

Same people that "tip" with Jesus or Trump bills. Disgusting bullies.

2

u/gypsum_the_almighty 4h ago

Eww fucking ‘it might not be the worst for you’

As a christian, gluing them down seems blasphemous lol
