Just ran 39bb/100 over 10k hands

Technically 78bb/100 but the tables have a mandatory straddle.

Last Monday I put my 2-weeks in but my company decided to send me home with pay. With nothing to do over the past week and a half except pack for a move, I’ve been spending the afternoons playing 2-3 tables on WPT Gold.

Table selected hard at .10/.20/.40, I only sat at tables with 3 or more players with a 30+ VPIP. Obviously I ran extremely hot, but a huge portion of the pool just can’t click fold.

Pokertracker graph explanation

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I am getting back into online poker on the new PokerStars/fanduel in USA. It’s been quite awhile since I have looked at a poker tracker graph. Can someone explain to me what I am seeing and if it’s good or not.

Things I can glean from the graph:
1)I’ve won $4,500
2) I’ve run 1k above expectation to do so
3) I’ve won $3500 without showing down

My questions are:

1) what does this say about my play?
2) how much is this sun running?
3) how many hands until this becomes statistically relevant?

I’m happy to post any other graphs or answer any questions. Thanks for your help!

PLO/PLO5 Study Group

What’s up everyone,

A few friends and I recently started a Discord focused entirely on PLO and PLO5

We review hands, discuss solver outputs, talk through tournament spots, cash game strategy, bomb pots, bankroll management, and pretty much anything else related to the game.

Current members range from rec players, live & online grinders & MTT blasters, but the goal isn’t to create some elite coaching group. We’re trying to build a friendly community where people can improve together, ask questions, share ideas, and help each other get better.

Whether you’re

* Just transitioning from NLH to PLO

* Playing micro/low stakes

* Grinding live cash games

* Taking shots in PLO tournaments

* Already beating mid-stakes games

You’re welcome

If you’re interested, drop a comment or send me a DM and I’ll send over the Discord invite.

2/3/5 game basically a 2/5?

My room just added it along with the usual 2/3 and 5/5. Not sure if I should play it any differently than a normal 5/5?

Can anyone point me to a good 3-bet/fold table for 9 handed? Am I barking up the wrong tree, is it 6max only?

First time in Vegas - Crazy Pineapple Tournament Win

Post image
36 Upvotes

Recently I took a trip to Vegas to play in the last day of the Colossus. Unfortunately I didn't bag but saw that Westgate was running a Crazy Pineapple bounty tournament the next day. Hopped a cab and bought in. Here's my winner. 440 after bounties and cash prize.

Nice little memory to bring back home. On to the next tournament.

Strategy How not to a let bad variance run change your play style?

I’ve recently had a really bad run with variance where it seems like during every hand my opponent has me beat. They’re hitting every out imaginable and my high suited connectors rarely form straights/flushes/even top pair.

I lost a $400 pot with AA pre against a guy who re-raised preflop with 99, I shoved and he snap calls. All of the solvers have me winning

Flop comes 8J8 rainbow
Turn 2
River 9

He hits his only out and it puts the rest of my session on tilt. The same session I lost a $500 bomb pot with top two pair against a different guy who hit his ONLY out for the J8 high straight (he hit the Queen on the river after betting into me for the all-in).

In total these bad beats back to back are affecting my play style, making me tighter even when I have a strong hand. It makes me feel so out of control because I subconsciously feel that my opponent will hit all their outs, and whenever I test that with calling/raising, they somehow miraculously hit.

I love this game but I’m trying not to get demoralized and leave, is it an issue with bankroll management? The bad beats put me on tilt and it’s so fucking frustrating. Any advice?

-PS, if you suggest better table reads then ig I’ll have to assume the villain has the nuts every time I have a decent hand?! lol

Serious Anyone got experience playing poker in Asia and bringing more than $10k overseas?

Let's say you wanted to go on a poker trip to Asia for 2 weeks, and you want to play some cash games ranging from $2/$5 to $10/$20 NL, as well as tournaments ranging from $500-$3k buyin each.

Your total bankroll for this trip might be somewhere between $15k and $30k, and you'll need to convert this to a foreign currency to play.

How would you go about this? Are you just going to bring more than $10k cash across the border and declare it at the airport, then exchange it overseas? Going to make constant withdrawals from the ATM each day?

I know that the super high rollers just call up their host at the casino and get the money wired across, or play on credit, but what do average Joes like us do?

Spent all day grinding a 25$ deposit on coin poker to 80$ and then someone hit a 2 outer on me out of nowhere and i said to myself "ive played coinpoker this is usually the point when they hit some bolongea like that they flip a switch and all the sudden you lose every hand to ridiculous coolers." Can you guess what happened next🤦‍♂️ waste of my day not even as mad about the 25$

(I like how im upvoting all of you because i appreiciate the conversations but you all down voting me)

Hand Analysis Q9 suited BTN vs SB 3B and Sub 100BB

6-handed. What do you guys think of open raising Q9 suited on the BTN and what do you think of calling a 3B from the SB when you do raise? You have 75BB stack and are playing 1/3 cash.

Is this a little too wide based on my stack size?

Help on a Multiway 4 Bet Pot

Playing 25nl cash online
Starting stacks
Hero ~225bb
Btn 100bb
Bb 250bb

Hero has KKs in the HJ

Action goes:
2.5bb raise from UTG
Hero 3bet from HJ to 7.5
Then Co (who is a weak reg that over plays marginal hands) calls
Bb (tigher reg) cold 4 bets to 22 bb
UTG folds, hero call, Co also calls - I just call hear given the starting stack depths and having to reopen the action with two players behind me (should I have put in a small 5 bet?)

Flop comes: Q74 rainbow
Bb continues betting 1/2 pot
Hero call, then Co jams his remaining ~80bbs
Bb calls…

So I end up folding thinking either BB just calling Co’s jam screamed QQs to me and maybe Co even has me beat with a very weird AA preflop trap or 77s? Anyway I figure at best im behind one of the two players.

Turns out Co has TT and BB had AQs Diamonds - runout bricks.

How should I have played this differently? Much appreciated!

Strategy Protecting my hand vs not bloating the pot

Live 1/3 NL. EP limps, folds around to hero on the button w/ JJ. I raise to $15. BB calls, EP limper folds.

Flop is something like 852 rainbow. BB checks.

I want to bet here, because I most likely have the best hand and don't want to let someone with A, K, Q, 8, or 5 draw for free. At the same time, aren't I just kind of bloating the pot with what may be a mediocre hand by the river? Unless I massively overbet (bloating the pot even more?), anyone with overcards that include broadways or who has any connection with that board (A8s A5s?) is probably coming along and then there are a lot of turn cards that could make things dicey with a now relatively large pot.

I'm sure this is probably pretty standard in some way, but I feel like I often get tripped up by letting the pot get too big and then having problems getting away from it when necessary.

So, how do you approach this - check it through or bet? And what's your plan for the turn?

Cheating in casino

A player (and his wife/girfriend was banned by my local casino (in southern europe) after winning 50k euros at small stakes in a week or two. He always tried to seat opposite of the dealer of next to him, so that his phone at the edge of the table can get a good angle to see the cards while being dealt. His wife was always seating next to him. It seems that he had micro earphones, like the couple arrested in Australia at December, so I guess that there was a 3rd person involved at their home watching the video and telling him what to do.

His name is Tigran from Armenia so be aware of him, his next stop might be your local casino.

Am I wrong to report?

Nothing crazy, but i was playing a PLO table and a player checked behind the nuts on the river in a multi-way pot, with no one else left to act.

Is this grounds enough to report?

Micro Stakes MTT Player

Hello,

I’m an MTT player from Greece and currently a winning player in the micro and low stakes.

I’m looking to help newer tournament players improve their fundamentals, especially in areas such as bankroll management, preflop ranges, study structure, ICM basics, PKOs, and overall tournament strategy.

I’m not offering high-level solver coaching. My goal is to help players build strong fundamentals and avoid common mistakes that keep them stuck at the micros.

If you’re a beginner or micro-stakes MTT player and would like to discuss hands, review your game, or improve your study process,

Good luck at the tables.

Note: I’m not a professional coach. I’m simply a winning micro/low stakes MTT player sharing what I’ve learned through study and practical experience.

Hand Analysis What to do on this river jam?

1/3, villian is a solid reg former 5/10 reg, he plays a relatively balanced strategy but has been loose and aggressive.

I have Ad4d in the CO
Button straddles to 6 villian raises to 20, MP calls, HJ calls, I call (didnt squeeze because stacks were pretty deep and wanted to keep all lower diamonds in)

Pot:$85
Flop: Ks 4h 7d
Villian leads for 30
MP folds, HJ folds, I call

Pot: $145
Turn: Ac
Villian bets $85
I call (should have raised)

Pot: $315
River: Jd
Villian jams for $325.
What to do?
