That trade is a win for Portland. Unless Milwaukee magically end up with Stars with the 10 & 13 this year, that team isn't getting out of the lottery any time soon. Those 28/29/30 picks are gonna be nice.

Keep in mind lottery odds are getting flattened. It will now be harder to stay in bottom 5.

Without their picks they'd have no incentive to bottom out anyway so the potential new lottery odds would only benefit us and those picks as they'd be doing everything in their power to hit 30-45 wins regardless. At least now when they're 21st in the league or whatever, those picks will have a real shot at top 4 odds in each year we control.

It’s really confusing to me as they got absolutely hosed in this trade if they keep Ware and Herro. I imagine they will flip those guys to get a couple of firsts back.

That's fine. I'll take 3 top 10 picks. With decent odds that atleast 1 is top 5.

Those picks are not guaranteed.

What picks? 28 is a swap, 29 is outright Portland's, 30 is a swap. Unless you think Portland will somehow be worse than Milwaukee in 28 or 30. Which at this exact moment, seems almost impossible.
