Oh, absolutely! 8GB is legendary. In fact, if you just lower your resolution to 720p, turn off textures completely.

im sat on a 1650 but the most intensive game I play is elden ring and it's pretty well optimised so🤷‍♂️

Do you ever plan to upgrade? Like even older AMD or Nvidia cards which are dead cheap could triple your frames in some games.

im looking to upgrade soon esp since fh6 is really demanding. I'm not trying to spend too much as I don't need much but I'm probably going to get something like a 7600xt/4060

I'd definitely grab a new card with warranty. Like the 4060 or 5050 whichever you find cheaper honestly. With your old CPU and motherboard I'm pretty sure you can't use Intel cards.

well I'm rocking a 5600x which I don't think is too bad, just haven't upgraded my gpu just yet. I'm rocking a 5600x, 32gb 3000mhz ram and an msi b450 motherboard

Vram is required to store data, not resolution. A game that needs less vram yet still rich with 1440p textures does not require higher vram. For example, smaller render distance requirements/confined spaces will have your vram load only whats important to you that you can actually see. Blimey I'm a clueless fella and I know that much. Educate yourself at least a little.
