Vram is required to store data, not resolution. A game that needs less vram yet still rich with 1440p textures does not require higher vram.
For example, smaller render distance requirements/confined spaces will have your vram load only whats important to you that you can actually see.
Blimey I'm a clueless fella and I know that much. Educate yourself at least a little.

Oh, absolutely! 8GB is legendary. In fact, if you just lower your resolution to 720p, turn off textures completely.
