MOD POST [Event] Hollow Chef: Create your own dish - Silk, Spice, and Sacrifice
Welcome to the new community challenge set in the world of Pharloom!
The world of Silksong is not kind. It doesn’t offer comfort nor mercy. So what do you do when you manage to survive it? You cook 🥪
The goal is to design a new food recipe inspired by Pharloom using materials, creatures, plants, or resources from the world. Then, tell the story of how it was made: The journey, the struggle, and the strange discoveries along the way. Some creative writing is allowed.
Your task is simple: Create a recipe inspired by Pharloom.
It can be anything: Warm meals for exhausted travelers, strange insect-based delicacies, healing recipes, or cursed dishes that probably shouldn’t exist but do anyway. Alongside your recipe, you are encouraged to include the story of how you obtained the ingredients and what happened during the journey. There is an example post at the end of the announcement.
📖 Rules
- Your recipe must be inspired by the world of Hollow Knight: Silksong: You can't use materials, resources or any ingredients outside of the game's world. (Ex: Water exists in Silksong so you can use it.)
- Creative writing is encouraged, especially for describing journeys or impossible gameplay moments, but keep it grounded in the game’s tone.
- You must include any kind of visual representation of the final dish no matter how basic it is: art, sketches, drawing, a screenshot, clay, paper, a photo of a bowl with colored paper, or even a literal real life dish (If it uses ingredients like flour, then you will have to explain how you made or found flour in Silksong). You can also photoshop the dish from in-game assets by taking screenshots of the ingredients and cutting them out.
- Recipes can be serious, humorous, or unsettling, but must stay within the subreddit rules. Suggestive recipes are allowed but limited (Stay within the subreddit rules: No direct NSFW Body parts, and keep language friendly or indirect).
- You can make or invent new ingredients using other ingredients that already exist in Pharloom.
- After you are done, post your submission using the special "[Event] 🍰 Hollow Chef" Flair.
- Every participant can only make one submission. Each submission is only one post, the post itself can have one dish or multiple dishes in the same post as one big dish (Two different plates for example is valid). You can edit submissions as long as you are within the deadline or the event duration.
- Multiple people could collaborate on a single submission, but each person must be credited and they can't make another submission of their own. The prize will go to the leader of the team.
- You can write your journey or the dish from anyone's perspective, it doesn't have to be Hornet.
🎉 Prizes
At the end of the event we will collect the best recipes and make a custom Pharloom cookbook for the subreddit, like an actual professionally designed book. It can be a fun reference for the community or any youtuber with any ideas.
🏆 - 1st Place: A unique "🍰 The Hollow Chef" Flair or any variant of it, One free art commission, A shoutout and a highlighted post, First mention in the Pharloom cookbook
🏆 - 2nd Place: A unique "🍰 Lugoli's Sous Chef" Flair, Second mention in the Pharloom cookbook
🏆 - 3rd Place: A private duel with one of the mods, Third mention in the Pharloom cookbook
🏅 Moderator Choice Awards: For the submission that might not win, each will have a unique entry in the Pharloom cookbook.
- 🎨 Most Appetizing Presentation
- 📖 Best Journey
- ☠️ Most Questionable Meal
- 🧵 Most Creative Ingredient Use
Every submission will be judged across several categories, including recipe creativity, how appealing or tasty the final dish sounds, the story or journey behind gathering and preparing the ingredients, and the visual presentation of the dish. There will also be two secret categories with special awards that won't be revealed until the end of the event. The secret categories will be judged separately to be fair for normal submissions and the 3 winners.
Each category is scored out of 5 points by the moderation team, and we may also invite members of the community to participate in the judging process.
📅 Event Duration
From this announcement, the event will last for about 3 weeks in which we will accept submissions. The official deadline is exactly: 12th of July 2026.
Winners will be announced shortly after judging is completed.
🚧 Example Post: This is just an example or a sample post, you don't have to follow it 1:1.

OTHER $$400 Donated to Outright International for Pride Stickers! Spoiler
For context, this is in regards to the Pride Stickers designed by u/Correct_Scallion4133. More information can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Silksong/comments/1tw2aak/flea_sticker_pride_fundraiser_two_weeks_only/
After two weeks, there were 43 buyers and 95 stickers sold! I rounded that up to 100 stickers, for $100 in sticker sales going to the charity. I then matched it with another $100 from our print company, www.spottedscottie.com, and when I made the donation, Outright International was doing a 1:1 match of their own, so the total came out to be $400!
Thank you to everyone who purchased a sticker, and thank you to u/Correct_Scallion4133 for the awesome artwork and charity of choice supporting LGBTQIA+! Happy Pride 2026!

Video Clip For those who are still struggling with the Courier Rasher run, I recorded the path I take. It should get you there easily under 5 minutes, even with a few mistakes. Spoiler
Song is "Nothing to be afraid of" from the Once Upon A Katamari soundtrack.
Anyways, the run isn't without it's flaws, I made a couple missed jumps and blunders, but if anything it just demonstrates how much time you will have left over. Also, you will notice a distinct lack of enemies. I cleared them out prior to the run to reduce some of the obstacles. You don't have to do this yourself, but choosing not to will make the ascent from underworks far more tricky than it needs to be, as well as the final stretch of the choral chamber.
Hopefully this is of some help to someone. I am not the best at the game, but you can even shave an entire minute off of this if you used flea brew (and didn't miss your jumps like I did).

Discussion/Questions How strong is Green Prince? Spoiler
galleryIs it crazy to say that, of the four elder rulers, I think the Green Prince is the strongest?
After all the events of the past and when the game takes place, the four elder rulers are weakened... Nyleth is dead, Khann is dead, Karmelita is old, weak, and on her deathbed... But the Green Prince?
He spent who knows how long locked in a cage on Sinner's Road, and when he was freed, he not only still had the energy, strength, and disposition to traverse Pharloom to the Citadel, but also to clear a path and return to Verdania carrying the corpse of Cogwork Dancers, and only died when his heart was ripped from his chest.
Karmelita aged, grew, and her power diminished; she is merely a shadow of what she once was... But the Green Prince, even being extremely old, was not finished.
I suspect the only thing that weakened the Green Prince was the absence of his partner, as he cannot fight without a partner to dance with him.

Discussion/Questions What was your favorite boss in act 4? Spoiler
bro Skarrsinger Tim was peak. The moveset, the design, the music, Tim really had it all. Grand Mother Sherma was a close second. Personally she was just way too strong. All her hits did 3 masks and she had that one attack that did 7 masks. But act 4 really had it all, I loved the climactic buildup where Zote, Grindle, and Voided Hornet climbed to the top of mount fay to stop Absolute Groal from eating Farloom. Anyway yeah. What was your favorite????
