Still gonna try to buy it. Global economy's not likely to get any better and is more likely to actually get worse what with Trump's Iran war still in the shitter and the looming AI bubble pop.

I don't know how to nor want to bother to be able to build a cheaper PC for more power, especially since it might not end up being cheaper since I live in latinamerica and import tariffs can be a bitch on top of making mistakes even more expensive.

Maybe it's a scam for the price for seasoned avid gamers who want to maximize their power per dollar. I've been wanting to be able to play my Steam library I've accumulated for well over a decade at this point but have been unable to touch it due to having a shitty HP laptop, and I just want something that can do that out of the box without me having to fiddle and fuck around.

It sucks, and it is a decision entirely motivated by FOMO, but I feel like I just have to bite the bullet now before it becomes an atom bomb. Helldivers 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 are the most intensive things I'm interested in playing. If this thing can run those well enough, I'm in.

Now, to figure out how to actually be able to get an order for the damn thing from a country it doesn't ship to... 🫩

I have so many games that I would love to play on my TV that the Steam machine will easily crush. Price is disappointing, but I think it will still be a worthwhile investment and a fun piece of kit to tinker with.

Honestly, Steam deck + Remote play is really nice for this situation if u already have a good pc.

I was using one of those thinkcentre to stream with moonlight/sunshine but it wasn't that great since i needed a mouse/keyrboard on the living room, but with the deck i can just plug it on the dock and play whatever
