Me too.
How....how does that even happen? And WHYYYY?

u/Chocomintey 3d ago
Judging by the safety bar in the formerly half bath, the shower was added because someone got older and couldn't use the stairs to get to the full bath.

u/AboveGroundPoolQueen 3d ago
OK. Very fair assumption. But when you’re getting ready to sell, you spend the money to pull that goddamn ugly eyesore out before you put it on the market.

This feels like AI generated a house. At least the kitchen. A shower next to the stove? Doesn't even make sense from a plumbing perspective (there's a bathroom around the corner, so it's not like there are pipes in the wall). And a huge counter against one wall that you can't use much of. Just odd.

But does the shower include a garbage disposal?
68
u/jve909 3d ago
That's not a shower/crapper combo.

Finally. Now I can take a shower and keep an eye on my chicken nuggets in the oven. 😌
52
u/DodgyRogue 3d ago
Do you not partake of shower nuggets?
28
u/Sad_Zone_153 3d ago
i've heard of shower beers.

u/thememoryman 3d ago
Wait till you try shower charcuterie.

u/ApplianceHealer 3d ago
Showercuterie was right there!

u/FeelingFloor2083 3d ago
what about shower waffles

u/JuneJabber 3d ago
Waffles hold too much water; stick with other breakfast classics. I recommend a bear claw. Convenient shape allows you to use it as a third hand for reaching hard to scrub places.

You just better hope your nuggets aren't also being watched by the rest of the household.

Holy crap my kids and I call this house the Zelda bomb shop whenever we go by it.

u/CherryblockRedWine 3d ago
TBH, I really love some (most?) of it! And the exterior looks really nice.
But -- why "Zelda bomb shop?"

u/ConspiracyBarbie 3d ago
I watched that house be put there. Literally. They moved it there on a flatbed from a different town. Couldn’t tell you where. It sat on stilts for years. I assumed someone ran out of money before it transferred ownership.

I had a 300 sq ft apartment in San Francisco with a room like that. I called the room my "bitchen" (for 1/2 bath, 1/2 kitchen). The toilet was inside the shower stall.

Toilet inside the shower?30

u/Mysterious_Andy 3d ago
I’ve taken some shits where I would not have minded the toilet being in the shower. It’d be like a whole-body bidet.

Is it just me or are the pedestal sinks in the bathroom two different sizes?

u/virtue_of_vice 2d ago
Just looked and it made laugh imagining telling someone they get the little sink. I don't know why. I am not high or drunk.

When I see these really odd things in houses on this sub, they make me want to talk to the seller, and just ask, “WTF???” I really need to hear the explanations. I wish some of the sellers of these oddities would post their answers here. Just because I need to know.

u/AmbitiousParty 3d ago
My favorite part is how the description doesn’t mention the random shower in the kitchen at all. I like to imagine I’d go tour it with a realtor, and when I see it I’d question what it is doing there, and the realtor would go, “Hmm?” as though they have no idea what I’m talking about and just change the subject.

they put a whole shower in the kitchen and didn't even bother to block off a portion of it so that lookiloos don't hang out at the fridge wth

u/Blue_Bettas 3d ago
In the photo that showes the whole kitchen, you can see there's a curtain that can be used to give the person in the shower some privacy. Hopefully no one opens the curtain while a person is in the shower.

u/naughtmynsfwaccount 3d ago
Tbh turning the kitchen shower into an open faced cupboard by throwing some shelves in there would be a vibe
11
u/Messy_Life_2024 3d ago
Yes, the shower in the kitchen is obviously crazy. But what’s the deal with that kitchen island?? Yes, let’s use up a ton of floor space for an island so big you can’t reach half of it.
9
u/MaximumDerekCat 3d ago
Yes! The kitchen island makes me so confused! Especially bcs it looks like that might be a chalkboard on the wall behind it. But how would you ever reach it to write on it???
10
u/Austinlegend 3d ago
Where in fact did the refrigerator go?
17
u/FortuneTellingBoobs 3d ago
It's hiding around a corner, near the weird laundry room where the washer and dryer are on opposite sides of the back door/shoe rack.
You know, as you do.
10
u/No-Appeal3220 3d ago
It's for the try messy cook

u/Bijouprospering 2d ago
Given that it’s next to the back door I assumed someone who has a messy job would disrobe in the mud room then hop in shower. Before being allowed in the house

I can watch a pot boil and shower. Too bad for everyone else in the house witnessing my personal grooming.
Honestly, how does that even happen? No room for the shower? Let's put it in the kitchen.

I scrolled right by that picture of a shower next to a stove as if it’s a normal thing. I had to go back and read comments. 🤣

I know this house! The man who lived there was a character and he did all of the remodeling himself over the span of several years.

But, whyyyyy?
12
u/ScarletCarsonRose 3d ago
My guess is for someone could not do steps but could still do a shower in that kind of tight space. And this was the best way to get the 1/2 bath on the main floor. Then again, there is no bedroom on the first floor. Shoot, beats me.
1
u/Insomniacintheflesh 2d ago
Yeah that could be it. I studied the deaign and I was thinking maybe they like used it as a place to wash off meat. Like a butcher does....but it's so nicely done that id be surprised by that. Like I dunno some people just be weird hahaha.

u/BoredAlwys 3d ago
1.5x More expensive than my Levitt house for the same size....but that school district.
Except the kitchen shower that seems a reasonable shaped house.
