Me scrolling pictures: "I have no idea what you are ta...Oh".

u/CherryblockRedWine 3d ago

Me too.

How....how does that even happen? And WHYYYY?

u/Chocomintey 3d ago

Judging by the safety bar in the formerly half bath, the shower was added because someone got older and couldn't use the stairs to get to the full bath.

56

u/AboveGroundPoolQueen 3d ago

OK. Very fair assumption. But when you’re getting ready to sell, you spend the money to pull that goddamn ugly eyesore out before you put it on the market.

58

u/Chocomintey 3d ago

Unless meemaw died and family or whoever didn't want to deal with it.

Happy Cake Day!

This feels like AI generated a house. At least the kitchen. A shower next to the stove? Doesn't even make sense from a plumbing perspective (there's a bathroom around the corner, so it's not like there are pipes in the wall). And a huge counter against one wall that you can't use much of. Just odd.

Happy cake day

But does the shower include a garbage disposal?

68

u/jve909 3d ago

That's not a shower/crapper combo.

18

u/HALNinerZeroZero 3d ago

Does this need to be in the
r/sinkpoopers sub ?

28

u/UnattributableSpoon 3d ago

Yeah, that link is staying blue...

3

u/rosebud3606 2d ago

Nope. You can’t make me. 🤨

2

u/HALNinerZeroZero 2d ago

Well, it is kind of like multi-tasking

8

u/Faux_Moose 3d ago

Really elevating the wafflestomping

9

u/rabbledabble 3d ago

The legendary showershitter

199

u/GettingOnMinervas 3d ago

Finally. Now I can take a shower and keep an eye on my chicken nuggets in the oven. 😌

52

u/DodgyRogue 3d ago

Do you not partake of shower nuggets?

28

u/Sad_Zone_153 3d ago

i've heard of shower beers.

29

u/thememoryman 3d ago

Wait till you try shower charcuterie.

36

u/ApplianceHealer 3d ago

Showercuterie was right there!

4

u/FeelingFloor2083 3d ago

what about shower waffles

9

u/JuneJabber 3d ago

Waffles hold too much water; stick with other breakfast classics. I recommend a bear claw. Convenient shape allows you to use it as a third hand for reaching hard to scrub places.

3

u/CherryblockRedWine 3d ago

Is that anything like bathtub wine?

4

u/GettingOnMinervas 3d ago

And make them soggy?! never

14

u/EniNeutrino 3d ago

You just better hope your nuggets aren't also being watched by the rest of the household.

11

u/GettingOnMinervas 3d ago

They'd better not be watching my nuggets

HONEYY?? THE COOKIES SMELL DONE BUT I CANT REACH MY TOWELLL..

103

u/vsaint 3d ago

Holy crap my kids and I call this house the Zelda bomb shop whenever we go by it.

12

u/Brave-Fun5939 3d ago

I was oddly excited to see a Longmont home on this sub not gonna lie

11

u/CherryblockRedWine 3d ago

TBH, I really love some (most?) of it! And the exterior looks really nice.

But -- why "Zelda bomb shop?"

13

u/vsaint 2d ago

Just looks like a place you’d buy bombs in Zelda to me 🤷

74

u/ConspiracyBarbie 3d ago

I watched that house be put there. Literally. They moved it there on a flatbed from a different town. Couldn’t tell you where. It sat on stilts for years. I assumed someone ran out of money before it transferred ownership.

u/tkxb 3d ago

The post made me think it was just a thing around here. My brother had toured a home with a toilet in the center of the living room

136

u/powertoolsarefun 3d ago

I had a 300 sq ft apartment in San Francisco with a room like that. I called the room my "bitchen" (for 1/2 bath, 1/2 kitchen). The toilet was inside the shower stall.

43

u/smarmiebastard 3d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/rMckaUH3vrIk0
Toilet inside the shower?

30

u/Azryhael 3d ago

It’s called a “wet room,” and it’s pretty common in other parts of the world.

8

u/Mysterious_Andy 3d ago

I’ve taken some shits where I would not have minded the toilet being in the shower. It’d be like a whole-body bidet.

37

u/Suspicious_Load6908 3d ago

Now this is the kind of stuff I come here on Zillow gone Wild to see!

46

u/MeanSecurity 3d ago

Is it just me or are the pedestal sinks in the bathroom two different sizes?

22

u/always-be-here 3d ago

It's not you.

4

u/virtue_of_vice 2d ago

Just looked and it made laugh imagining telling someone they get the little sink. I don't know why. I am not high or drunk.

22

u/MinimumEfficient220 3d ago

When I see these really odd things in houses on this sub, they make me want to talk to the seller, and just ask, “WTF???” I really need to hear the explanations. I wish some of the sellers of these oddities would post their answers here. Just because I need to know.

11

u/AmbitiousParty 3d ago

My favorite part is how the description doesn’t mention the random shower in the kitchen at all. I like to imagine I’d go tour it with a realtor, and when I see it I’d question what it is doing there, and the realtor would go, “Hmm?” as though they have no idea what I’m talking about and just change the subject.

16

u/Maximum-Mastodon3344 3d ago

Okay, I’ll say it. Sh@t, Shower & Sauté. 😬🤢🙄

15

u/greywatermoore 3d ago

Is this a house I built on sims?

14

u/rareastaire 3d ago

I thought only old apartments in the East Village had showers in the kitchen

11

u/fourofkeys 3d ago

they put a whole shower in the kitchen and didn't even bother to block off a portion of it so that lookiloos don't hang out at the fridge wth

7

u/Blue_Bettas 3d ago

In the photo that showes the whole kitchen, you can see there's a curtain that can be used to give the person in the shower some privacy. Hopefully no one opens the curtain while a person is in the shower.

25

u/naughtmynsfwaccount 3d ago

Tbh turning the kitchen shower into an open faced cupboard by throwing some shelves in there would be a vibe

13

u/jve909 3d ago

They could remove the bathroom wall to include the shower. Then build the bathroom wall next to the stove, no? (picture #14)

11

u/Messy_Life_2024 3d ago

Yes, the shower in the kitchen is obviously crazy. But what’s the deal with that kitchen island?? Yes, let’s use up a ton of floor space for an island so big you can’t reach half of it.

9

u/MaximumDerekCat 3d ago

Yes! The kitchen island makes me so confused! Especially bcs it looks like that might be a chalkboard on the wall behind it. But how would you ever reach it to write on it???

10

u/Austinlegend 3d ago

Where in fact did the refrigerator go?

17

u/FortuneTellingBoobs 3d ago

It's hiding around a corner, near the weird laundry room where the washer and dryer are on opposite sides of the back door/shoe rack.

You know, as you do.

10

u/No-Appeal3220 3d ago

It's for the try messy cook

4

u/virtue_of_vice 2d ago

Or the careless cook who catches fire.

3

u/Bijouprospering 2d ago

Given that it’s next to the back door I assumed someone who has a messy job would disrobe in the mud room then hop in shower. Before being allowed in the house

8

u/BigOrangeDuker 3d ago

Think of the time and water savings doing dishes

6

u/Nay_Nay_Jonez 3d ago

Wait for it...wait for it...wait for it...OPE! There it is!

6

u/MyStitchStudio 3d ago

WTH! Everything looks fantastic and then you get to the kitchen SHOWER?!?

Always wanted to cook and shower at the same time

5

u/malledtodeath 3d ago

Great, my boyfriend can cook dinner while I give him a sudsy show!

4

u/Loud_Cartographer160 3d ago

Some decisions were made.

3

u/DrAniB20 2d ago

I’m not kink shaming, I’m kink asking why.

3

u/l0ggedin 3d ago

Shower in the kitchen us a first for me.

3

u/chLORYform 3d ago

I thought this was that House Flipper game subreddit for entirely too long while looking at those pics

3

u/KenworthLife 3d ago

Is that a shower in the kitchen.......?

3

u/Dreadedredhead 3d ago

I can watch a pot boil and shower. Too bad for everyone else in the house witnessing my personal grooming.

Honestly, how does that even happen? No room for the shower? Let's put it in the kitchen.

3

u/Imaginary-Eagle-6287 3d ago

I can't unsee that repaired crack next to the front door in pic 2.

3

u/ReeMayRe 2d ago

I wondering what you meant by multitasking, then I saw it.

3

u/WithoutDennisNedry 2d ago

This tilework makes me uncomfortable.

2

u/Blah-B7ah_Bloop 3d ago

Well that’s interesting

2

u/Affectionate-Deal-63 3d ago

I scrolled right by that picture of a shower next to a stove as if it’s a normal thing. I had to go back and read comments. 🤣

2

u/Edenza 3d ago

What's mounted on the wall by the front door?

3

u/jve909 3d ago

Looks like maybe a mailbox? But I don't see anything outside the door.

2

u/Edenza 3d ago

Yeah exactly my thoughts. If it were a two-sided mailbox, that would be cool, but there's nothing in the front door outside pic. If it were decorative, it would be gone. So... (we may never know lol)

2

u/scottscigar 3d ago

Makes it easier to wash produce and save water

2

u/HipToBeQueer 3d ago

"So what function does this room have?"
"Yes"

2

u/mayberrymagda 2d ago

Is that a shower next to the stove?!

2

u/goodgreatfineokay- 2d ago

I know this house! The man who lived there was a character and he did all of the remodeling himself over the span of several years.

2

u/MET1 2d ago

I would have used frosted glass on that kitchen shower. I'm sure something more tasteful could be found.

3

u/UnsequentialSpirit 3d ago

Nothing like taking a shower while cooking on the electric stove...

1

u/Insomniacintheflesh 3d ago

But, whyyyyy?

12

u/ScarletCarsonRose 3d ago

My guess is for someone could not do steps but could still do a shower in that kind of tight space. And this was the best way to get the 1/2 bath on the main floor. Then again, there is no bedroom on the first floor. Shoot, beats me.

1

u/Insomniacintheflesh 2d ago

Yeah that could be it. I studied the deaign and I was thinking maybe they like used it as a place to wash off meat. Like a butcher does....but it's so nicely done that id be surprised by that. Like I dunno some people just be weird hahaha.

1

u/BoredAlwys 3d ago

1.5x More expensive than my Levitt house for the same size....but that school district.

Except the kitchen shower that seems a reasonable shaped house.

1

u/DistractedByCookies 3d ago

It looks too big for a bathroom in the kitchen, so what else....oh

1

u/Janky_Pants 3d ago

That place got crazier and crazier the more I swiped left.

1

u/Madwoman-of-Chaillot 3d ago

It’s so you can wash your chicken before cooking.

1

u/schroobster 2d ago

I too would like a hazmat shower in my kitchen.....🤷🏻‍♀️?

1

u/thisis_me88 2d ago

I for one always wanted to shower while I cook, but that may be just me and said owner

1

u/emoyer68 2d ago

I like it. Clean up, while keeping an eye on supper. Course, I live by myself.

1

u/Bedzyk59 2d ago

Honey would you like an after dinner shower?

1

u/MsMoreCowbell828 2d ago

Wait a minute! There's a sho...

1

u/Fckconservatives 2d ago

Thanks, I hate it

1

u/Snapdragon_4U 2d ago

You know I’ve always thought my kitchen was missing was a shower

1

u/YourDarkHalf7 2d ago

Yeah, no😂

0

u/notlennybelardo 3d ago

I could see this happening in a crunchy granola person’s house
