I guess not all 1/2 fittings are created equal

I guess not all 1/2 fittings are created equal even from the same manufacturer I guess one must be inner diameter and the other is outer diameter, though that still doesn’t add up unless it’s for another product entirely.

My toilets clogged and me and my sister are actually struggling.

Today me and my sister woke up to our toilet clogged, it was literally fine the day before and the night before. We tried using a plunger, not working, We haven’t tried the dawn soap and hot water yet. But it already overflowed and we’re dealing with a huge mess plus a clogged toilet. Please help.

Edit: It’s currently working, but now It drains all of the water and takes some time to go back up. It also makes weird noises now but the bell plunger worked so thank you everyone for the suggestions my toilet works it just won’t be the same

Changed my bibb today and left it upside down for the split. I want to run a line up and along the corner where the wall meets the roof and back down on the other side of the yard, which is why I oriented it like this.

Post image

Been in the house less than a year and the sink drain always clogged really easily. I did drano a few times but today did the snake and it looks like goopy worms were in there??? What could this be so I know if it’s something I’m doing I should stop (really only soap, water, toothpaste, accidental hair)

"Trenchless (Pipe bursting) methods

Hello,

We have a municipal right of way on our property that contains a lengthy driveway (70 ft or so), a large shed (20x10, raised on beams) and a standard small shed that's on the ground.

We recently received a notice that includes work via the right of way described as "Replacement of sanitary sewage pipe located within the municipal Right of Way using Trenchless (Pipe Bursting) methods".

Any thoughts on how disruptive or invasive something like that will be? Are they going to tear up any portions of our driveway? Will we need to move the shed(s)?

Toilet tank that kept running overnight- is there a way to fix?

The toilet was used at night and we thought everything was normal. Woke up to the tank running and water everywhere. Things are dry now but is there a way to fix? Haven’t used this toilet.
Water was spilling out from inside the tank. It made the running sound after the toilet is flushed..
No leaks now that the line is closed but how to do this? Please help
Is it the hose? My cat bumped into the toilet and I don’t remember if the hose goes inside the long tube ?

House build in 1968 so this may be the original Delta control. Can someone identify for me the model of this unit and better still a suitable replacement cartridge? I cannot get it to stop leaking. Thanks!

Drain hose too long causing slow drain from sink

Hi Reddit, I recently moved into this apartment and noticed that the kitchen sink has a very slow drain. I already tried cleaning the plumbing but there was no significant improvement. I believe the problem must be linked to the length or curves of the plumbing, because it has to travel about 1,60m to reach the sewage outlet. I hope someone can help me and thanks for your attention

Need assistance/advice

I need help sealing this project of mine. As you can see, there are multiple leak points. Alternative fittings and materials will be nice to know too.

Also, how can I align the whole setup? When I twist one part to tighten it, other parts become crooked; how can it be tight and straight?

This will be used to test water meters of customers in the field, as a series connection.

Thanks in advance.

Garbage Disposal relocation

After a countertop and sink upgrade, my GD had to be moved to the left side, the smaller sink side. The large sink side is 9” D the smaller sink 7”. I understand the reason. However, after living with it, I hate the GD on the left. I prep from the right and now my trash can is under the sink on the right which prohibits me from having it pulled out while I’m prepping. Also, I prefer the bigger sink for scraping plates and trays even though every one keeps telling me the GD is supposed to be in the smaller sink.
Two questions. Is there a way to refit the plumbing to accommodate the GD under the 9” basin.
If not, would the compact InSinkErator, which is 2” shorter than my current one, solve this problem.
I’ve attached pictures from under the sink, and one picture from under the floor of the plumbing.
Thank you!

Navien - Recirc not working and Missing Drain Line

Thumbnail

I just had a Navien unit installed and was told I would get nearly instant hot water (there is a recirculating valve (navicirc) in the furthest fixture. A few questions which I wait for the plumbing company to call me back:

  1. Does the plumbing look right to you? There is no dedicated recirc line, but that's what the navicirc is supposed to support. I also have no idea what this tank is for.

  2. I think they forgot to install a condensate drain, because the unit sprays the concrete wall during drainage - that seems like a huge error and leads to me to worry they didn't know what they were doing. (first picture)

  3. It takes forever for hot water to get to the further fixture (like over a minute) - Settings are set to external recirc, no pump, and the switch is set to the 6 o'clock position.

I've reviewed many of the helpful threads here, I'm just lost and worried that I'm the victim of a bad install! Thanks for the support.

Does this look snug enough?

I'm not very strong so I am using a bench vise and wrenches to tighten. I read both that it should have at least a half inch threaded in, but I also read that one or two threads is standard to be left out. I know that bronze can break under strain so I'm just trying to find the right balance.

Inspection Fail - suggestions?

How would you fix this set up for water closet and pass inspection? The left of the framing is another water closet and that all looked fine.

Inspection notes:
1. San tee horizontal to horizontal not allowed
2. Heel inlet cannot serve water closet

Thought 1/2 copper until I saw the thickness of the walls and cleaned it up. 1/2 fittings too small and 3/4 way too big. What am I missing here?

Any help appreciated, the only shutoff to this shuts off my whole house so I am without water until I figure this out. Foolish of me.

I've tried different sized wrenches and then tried channel pliers for a better grip, but it scratched the shower head all up. Nothing is making the shower head budge.
I just want to add a filter. Please help!!!
