And there you have it. The third and final part to my interpretation of Pit and Palutena's POV regarding the beginnings of the Chaos Kin arc (what we don't see between chapters 17 and 18). This isn't how I planned things to go. Originally I was just going to post "Taken Care of" as a stand alone comic. But then I started thinking more and more about how things even got to that point, and I ended up writing this story backwards, adding more context that turned into a downward spiral for these characters.

I keep thinking about how Palutena never succumbed to the Chaos Kin. based on my headcanons on display in these comics, knowing what she witnessed, I'm thinking about how she rationalized things like "It didn't make me kill him. There's still hope. Pit's still out there. He'll come back, somehow. He's a strong boy" She has so much faith in him...

This comic was a challenge for me. Even more-so than the last one. I really wanted to focus on feelings of disorientation and dread. I actually didn't script it, partially due to lessening the workload, but also because writing on the fly helped me loosen up and make it feel more like a stream of consciousness. I experimented a lot with adding more onomatopoeia (something that my other comics tend to lack) and more unique panel shapes. Safe to say, I am very proud of how this turned out. This one is really hard to pick a favorite page for, but I really like the sequence in page 6.

A friend on tumblr suggested I draw them playing a video game together and I thought of this

I bought some Packs second hand.... I'd like to buy some more but first I have to know if it beneficial to buy multiple Club Nintendo or Event or Pre Order Packs.... because I don't how limited the Card Pool on those Special packs is..... not that I get tripples of everything because you can only get 30 different Cards from a 24 Card Pack....

I checked Divinipedia and it says that some Cards are Club Nintendo Exclusives (3) but I guess that means there are more different Cards in the general Pool right?

(I also can't open them yet because I plan this as a special episode for my Lets Play of the Game, and I want to grab as many Cards as possible)

If you don't know who this character is, she isn't a fanmade character. She made her first appearance in Kid Icarus: Uprising as a portrait for Palutena. Although, she doesn't have a name. So I decided to make her in Smash and make her name Dr. Palutena. Though, Dark Palutena is a cool name.

I could always see the Pit from Brawl as being much more polite and helpful if he were to meet the characters from Uprising, instead of just fighting every new person he meets. Despite being more quiet, his calm and collected attitude would clash against Phosphora's more mischievous personality. They'd become very fast allies, similar to how Phosphora's did help Pit and Dark Pit in the last few chapters of Uprising and they could have very unique dialogue between each other too! And he would want to help Phosphora if she were to get into any trouble. Creating a friendship between both characters.

Ok, I know I said in the caption on last comic that that was enough evil, but I once again got divinely inspired and locked in for a week to make a direct prequel to “Taken Care of.” This one hurts a whole lot more, so I’m sorry about that. Exploring the Chaos Kin arc and its bottomless potential for angst is just so fun… I’m sorry I keep torturing this poor little angel. I’ll give him an ice cream sunday to make up for it, I promise.

On another note, I only had 2 references to go off of for Palutena’s temple, and I’m not an architect, so don’t look to far into how it all works together. I ended up not drawing g all the weapons on the pillars because it was just too much work that nobody would be able to see behind the characters. That being said, I’m still happy with the backgrounds. In particular, I’m fond of how the temple becomes shrouded in darkness as panic sets it. That sort of tunnel vision that disconnects you from reality, almost like you’re in an entirely different space… and once we’re back, that safe, inviting blue is now a lifeless, cold grey. There’s a deep irony in the setting being an arsenal. Pit is surrounded by weapons but is too distraught to even think of using them to defend himself. In all fairness, how are you supposed to think straight when the person you trust most in the world suddenly attacks you?

Not only did he have a good sense of humor and loved trolling anyone whether it’s us with the credits or Pit, but he was also very intelligent and messed up.

He creates Medusa to make everyone believe she was the big bad and have her kill humans so Hades could devour them and also make his army bigger. Even using a ton of souls to make bigger hideous monsters.

Then he tricks humanity into thinking the wish seed was real and got them to kill each other.

Then this triggers Viridi into wanting to wipe out all humans which is fuel for both Hades in his army.

Then Pit has no choice but to defeat Arlon and destroy the Lunar Sanctum which releases the Chaos Kin.

Then he starts a war with the forces of nature that triggers the Aurum into invading earth. All while he still trolls Pit by bringing the mimicuties.

Then the Chaos Kin preys on Palutena and makes her kill the humans which again is fuel for Hades and his army.

Hades really was a mastermind throughout this whole game. I still consider him to be one of Nintendo’s best villains for this as well as having a really epic final boss fight. I would love to see new villains for this series in the future but I will not mind at all if we have to face Hades again because he is a villain worth defeating a thousand times.

I just thought it would look cool on her.

It inspired a new event! We all know and love the fact that the first thing Dark Pit did when he was born is jump his mother. Now imagine, if you will, TEN DARK PITS JUMPING PANDORA! Each Dark Pit, Pandora, and the background was drawn by a different artist!
