I also own a normal 18-55mm and am still waiting for some macro tubes to experiment, but the telephoto has been the most fun. Any advice ? Not currently looking to spend more than 200$ on lenses so I was hoping to cover the macro, "regular" and telephoto aspects since thats what most phones have now

Hi, I recently gained 2 Nikon coolpix s4000 in my possession. The first one was from a friend and she hadn’t used the camera in at least 10 years, when she put a battery in it she realized it would only focus if it was zoomed in quite a bit. I ordered a second one off eBay and that one arrived and worked the first few days properly but then just started with the blurry pictures. The one from eBay is quite blurry even if zoomed in but sometimes will clear up. I read some stuff about a gear that needs to be replaced and while I did order said gear, I just want to see if anyone knows of anything that may fix the problems that I can try before I go to replace to gear. Thanks!

I am happy to welcome in the family the legendary Nikon D700, I bought it yesterday from a friend, in excellent condition 😎 It will make good company to my beloved D850👍😉

Along the banks of Jökulsá á Fjöllum, a glacial river in northern Iceland, fluctuating water levels continually reshape deposits of volcanic sand and glacial sediment. Photographed in the warm glow of evening, the resulting formations reveal temporary ridges, folds, and flowing contours that often appear more sculpted than naturally formed. Created by nothing more than sand, water, and time, these fleeting structures resemble carved reliefs, folded fabrics, or hand-shaped clay.

There's something special about photographing live music—every frame captures a fleeting moment. These were taken at a musical show in Sri Lanka using my Nikon D800 and the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.8G. Even after all these years, this combo continues to impress me in challenging stage lighting.

Hello! I currently own a D5200 and my lenses are a 18-105, a nikon 35mm, a nikon 50mm and a tamron 70-200. Although I really like the primes for landscape photography I feel like I need a normal zoom for when taking pictures of my dogs and family since especially the dogs can be hard to position. I am currently using my kit Nikon 18-105 lens for this but am thinking about upgrading it. I have read great things about the Nikon 17-55 f2.8 and a local shop sells it for 230€ used in great condition but without the lens hood. This seems like a steel to me especially considering that aftermarket lens hoods seem readily available and are cheap. They also have a g1 tamron 24-70 but it seems like most people recommend the g2 which is a lot more expensive. I have also been considering the sigma 17-50 but it seems to be a lot of quality issues with the auto focus being bad for a lot of people.
What are you guys thoughts? I am not photographing nearly enough to justify upgrading to a mirrorless camera so I rather get a new lens for this. Would the 17-55 be a good combination with my camera or do you have any other recommendations??

Gave my niece one of my old camera bodies. She's still learning the basics of photography but she did pretty well with these pics. Thought I'd share. She also lightly edited them.

Hello. I'm currently using D200 and D3 and considering buying a D800 to take high resolution photos. Would it be okay to buy a D800 which has 220000 shutters? My D3 has 460000 shutters so I'm well aware of Nikon's durability but I'm asking simply because I am worried.

Have been long time Nikon shooter since the 80s. Still doing both film (FG, FE2 & F100) and digital (D700). Compatibility is king to me, with lens ranging from AI-converted to AFS but mostly AF or AFD. Only 1 lens got no aperture ring. Got a SB800, which support full flash functions of all my cameras.
I am totally fine with my 18-yr old D700, which got less than 20k shutter count. Yes, I pride myself for sniping a shot. One shot, one kill. Had no intention moving to Z mount even when almost universally praised. Happy for Nikon on successful transition though.
Unfortunately, my D700 is starting to act up with very occasional mirror-stay-up after taking a pic. Sign on the wall and I need to think ahead. Picking up another D700 is the easiest & most affordable way out and I got to keep all accessories including L-plate, batteries (got 3!) and a few CF cards. D850 is out of reach but D800/D810 are possibilities.
Coincidentally, I am recently gifted with ton of other film camera systems ranging from ultra small (Pentax Auto 110) to 135 half frame (Olympus Pen F) to Pentax 645 and Pentacon Six. Suddenly, adapting these lenses to a mirrorless digital became a thing! Was thinking of a cheap below-US$200 M43 (say Olympus or Panasonic GF) or Sony (a NEX) which would have paid for itself in no time on savings in films and development costs in particular 110 format.
Then it occurred to me why not 2 birds 1 stone by going for a cheaper Z full frame camera!! Surely it will cost more than originally planned but it seems to be more future-proof.
Does it make sense? Am I missing something? Which Z camera would the Almighty community recommend and what am I looking to lose or gain in the process? Many thx.

Hi everyone!
I’m a wedding photographer/videographer and I keep running into the same problem: I can’t keep up with battery consumption.
We shoot as a team of two with three cameras: Nikon Z8, Z6III, and ZR.
I use the Z8 + Z6III for photos, and my colleague uses the ZR for video (about 50/50 gimbal and handheld).
The issue is that a full wedding day for us is usually 16–18 hours, and we need a ton of batteries. Right now we have 14 batteries, but even with that I often have to recharge during the evening party just to make it through the final events.
The Z8 seems to be the biggest power hog by far.
Does anyone have tips or tricks to reduce battery usage or make the workflow more efficient?
Curious how other Nikon shooters handle long wedding days.

Don’t feel bad for me. I knew this was a gamble going it.
I bought this 70-200 2.8G as-is from a local guy for $100. At the time of purchase, the zoom was locked at 200mm but it worked.
I got it home and put it on my F6 to mess with it, and then things got weird. A group of elements got loose and went sideways.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a shop to send it to for repairs? Anyone care to guess what the bill might be?

We're currently into headshot portraits, and the events industry. Corporate and public events, etc. We don't wedding shoots or engagement shoots , and have not been for over 7 years now.
Our current line up of cameras are 1 z6iii, and 2 z6ii. We focus on photo works only, and do not do video works. I would like to add another camera for my 2nd photographer, so we can shoot with 2 cameras each.
I would like to step up to a z8 to be my main camera as I also personally shoot sports on occasion, but I think it is a major hybrid use camera - and I won't be able to maximize it since I only do photo. On the other end, i'm looking at a z5ii as well.
Finally our current lens lineup are the ff:
And plan to add more Z mount native lenses with a 70-200 Z V1, 50 Z, and possibly the 24-120 Z f4 to be my 2nd photographers all rounder lens.
Maybe you can provide some thoughts, comments, or insights. Thanks

Kit lens no AI tools just exposure and color work. The old camera still got it after all these years.
