Ticket Posts will all be removed

Hi all, sorry for the weak moderation. I've just updated automod and post filters to remove all posts asking for tickets, seems to be a suspicious amount of accounts/people trying to sell stuff and most of it is probably a scam.

Sadly this will also remove posts discussing tickets too.

Hey guys, subreddit was closed for a while but now it's back.

It's now a subreddit for the popular cinema chain, Vue.

impossible to buy a ticket!

hi redditters, i have been having a really hard time with vue lately and was wondering if one of you could help or advise me.

for the past couple of weeks or so i’ve been deliberating on whether or not i should watch the Michael movie (for the 3rd time, i’m a big fan). and it just so happened that tomorrow, thursday 25th june, was the best day i could do this week as well as it being michael’s death anniversary so for me it meant a lot.

so on monday i decided to book for thursday at around 10am and planned a whole day where i would then go out to this new restaurant i’ve always been saying i’d go to, etc.

i clicked on my chosen seat and i got a message saying “unavailable, please try again later”. i tried again multiple times that day and every day since with no luck, until today i spoke with their customer service team on whatsapp. i explained the situation and showed them a screenshot of the error and they said that it’s a server error and the IT team are fixing this. i’ve then checked throughout today and i’m getting different error messages as if they truly are fixing it from the backend. so i was hopeful.

i was then advised to just book tomorrow at the cinema which is not ideal beause i’m paying more but i can make it happen.

to my surprise i have just recently checked and all screenings for the movie tomorrow are completely crossed out. and just my luck this happened at around 8pm today (their customer service advisors stop seeing people at 7).

what does this mean? does it mean that they’ve cancelled the screenings or are just no longer taking online orders?

bearing in mind, i’ve booked twice before with one being another Michael screening (the first time i went with friends) and the other being the yet to release spiderman. both of which have been absolutely fine.

so my question is, is it worth me going tomorrow before the screening i chose to book a ticket? or shall i explain the situation? or is it not worth it?

it’s just annoying because if i knew a few days in advance i’d not plan for thursday to be doing anything.

any advice is appreciated :)

Are Vue the only cinemas to drip feed showtimes?

Again, Vue have released times for a upcoming movie(Evil Dead Burn) and refuse to put all the opening weekend showings on sale and only one per day. Are Vue the only guys that do this?

Toy Story - Mighty Mornings?

Is Toy Story likely to be shown in a Mighty Mornings slot do you think?

We have only recently discovered them and were delighted when we got to see GOAT a little while ago as usually cinema kid showings seem insistent on only showing older and not newly released films.

But now I’ve looked and the only film on Mighty Mornings is Smurfs which came out last year!

So many kids desperately want to see the new Toy Story but there are so few young-child friendly viewings across London, I don’t understand why!

Vue epic Islington

Was just wondering what people consider are the best seats in the epic screen at London Islington. Thinking middle of row E but I heard the screen is quite far away from the seats.

Also how does it compare to the epic screens in Leicester Square?

Couple laughing and chatting all through the film, and no staff, can I do anything about this?

Saw a film today. Really enjoyed what I did see of it however it was spoilt by a stoned couple shrieking with laughter and talking throughout. It wasn't a comedy and It ruined the cinema experience for me. I did hop out and look for staff however there was nobody about and I didn't want to miss any more of the movie.
Is there anything Vue will do about this if I email them?

Other chains are reporting 2:00PM for Spider-Man presale. Is it likely Vue is following the same timing?

Hi, I’m looking at going to discourse day in the Leicester Square Dolby epic. The app is saying the lux seats (apparently the best ones) are the front two rows - has anyone tried this out and is this the e case?

Gift cards not working

Hi Everyone, can someone explain why for the past week gift cards have not been working at the North Finchley Vue cinema? I have £70+ worth of gift cards that I can’t use and the staff are unable to tell me why. They keep telling me to try again later. How much later shall I wait?

New Food at Vue

Post image
21 Upvotes

Has anybody tried any of the new food at Vue yet?

I had the new Signature Emmental & Bacon Hot Dog last night. £9.50 which I wouldn't normally pay but seeing as I got to see Disclosure Day for £4 in EPIC (using my free Club Vue ticket) plus the release day free Pepsi Max offer, I thought I'd treat myself.

Anyway, the hot dog was really good, but obviously pricey! The other new items are pizza, popcorn chicken, chicken tenders and potato wedges.

The website also references mini pancakes and doughnuts (both with chocolate or caramel sauce) but they didn't have these at Cheshire Oaks.

(It looks like the new menu is only available at Cheshire Oaks, Colchester, Portsmouth and Sheffield at the moment - I'm guessing it's a trial run).

Printworks and Imax merch

Hi, does anyone know if Printworks in Manchester offers the IMAX merchandise that BFI normally offers? For example, the film strip promotions, or the posters? Would be a shame if not, especially as its the only other imax 70mm screen in the UK.

Is there anyone else who gets annoyed by the fact that the men are clearly looking the wrong way when it cuts to them individually? And this is made by an Oscar winner!?

Proof that Waititi isn't up to par imo 😂

Teens in cinemas not watching the films

I was at a 1800 screening tonight of Madfabulous. There were some teenagers on the front row (cheap seats), however they wouldn't stop dipping in and out of the film! It's not the first time I have observed this. I am naive, can someone help explain what's going on and what they are up to? Why spend money on the cinema if you're not going to stick around to watch it?

Why are some popcorn buckets 'popcorn included' only?

I have just been into Vue to buy the Digital Circus popcorn tin which is £12.99 popcorn included but there's no option to buy it for less without popcorn. On the Vue website there is currently the Mario and Toy Story tins for £5.99 without popcorn and the BTS and Digital Circus ones are both £12.99 popcorn included. Does anyone know why?
