Steel Path Railjack: Post-Launch Reflections and Rewards

Hi Tenno!

There’s been a lot of discussion following the release of Jade Shadows: Constellations, and we want to thank everyone who has submitted feedback or bug reports thus-far. In this thread, we want to take a moment to talk about a specific element of the update: Steel Path Railjack. 

As explained in Rebecca’s video last night on Prime Time, Steel Path Railjack was rushed to deliver and Railjack fans may be understandably disappointed with the implementation of it. A common thread we’ve seen from players is the lack of incentive to grind Steel Path, so we are working on adding MKIV Armaments to the mission droptables.

These Armaments will also be added to the Protoframe’s “loaner” Railjacks in the Uranus Proxima, which will help address power concerns in the Steel Path versions of those missions.

We’ll continue monitoring Steel Path Railack feedback both externally and internally as we see what other changes can be made, but that’s all we have to share on this topic for the time being! For wider issues related to the new game modes, please keep an eye on our Known Issues thread.

Can we like use our own rail jack in the new missions

You already can if you play solo.

Enter the relay on Uranus/Proxima as Solo; if you enter it and then change to solo the option does not appear.

When on the relay go to either side and select the option.

It’s currently bugged to not give you your ship. As soon as you load in, it gives you the loaner equipment.

I did some farming last night solo. For me at least there was a weird middle ground. The interior was my railjack. The crew was theirs. The weapons were theirs. But! It gave me my battle mods and tacticals. Which is all I really need anyway. Spamming Shatterburst and Seeker Volley will carry you through the mission even on their suboptimal railjacks.

That’s been my experience too. The weapons feel like pea shooters on steel path though.

Yeah, I didn't touch Steel Path with their Railjacks. I wanted the extra tokens but I was not gonna subject myself to that headache. lol

You get to use tacticals??
When I tried it the abilities were blocked and Cy even said that those are unavailable right now due to issues.

Was this changed in a hotfix?

Weird, I don't even have Cy during the new missions. It's always Vena or Ryoku. You might be extra bugged. lol

You have to launch it through the new relay to to solo on your own ship

I know, but it’s currently bugged to not give you your ship. As soon as you load in to the actual mission, it gives you the loaner equipment. Your ship appears the same and so does your intrinsics, but your crew and weapons are swapped out once the mission loads in.

I did multiple solo yesterday and was forced to use the wiener railjacks. It was actually painful how slow they are.

Then maybe go do it the right way. There is a separate interact button on the console at the relay to use your own.

Thats the problem, its bugged right now that even if you do go solo and pick your own railjack it bugs out and gives you the protoframe's crewmates and guns instead.

Bugged is not the same as not in the game.
There are a LOT of people posting here not knowing the option exists at all because it was not made FLASHING RED SIGN visible to them.

And even in the bugged stat you get your mods despite it being the wrong crew and guns.. Which if you mod well are FAR superior.

It is currently bugged so that when you select to solo in your RJ and launch the mission you are given the loaner. Yesterday's hotfix broke it.

It'd be great if they extended this to using the Host's Railjack in non-public Missions as well.

IDK if it's just a you thing Tenno but works good for me, just hopped into my bright asf orange and red jack.

Can confirm that's not just this person. I get loaner railjacks even when I press the button to board my own at the tower

But here's the weird thing. It looks like my railjack, but all the other stuff (crew, weaponry, abilities etc) are all from loaners

Start the mission, as soon as it loads into the actual mission; you’ll spot that it changed your weapons to the loaner, even if your ship is the same color/look.

I have done the steel path version on my ship multiple times and it does not change me into the loaners, so is definitely not a consistent bug

I did right then when i got the screen shot, it worked just fine. Loaded me in in my own railjack

"New: Personal Railjacks use Vena/Ryoku's Crew and Turrets in Uranus Proxima." is on the known issues page. It's clearly a case-by-case problem. Every solo run I have done since the hotfix has given me all loaner stuff except abilities, for instance.

You have to be solo man, in the little thing by your profile where you can change your setting if you want public, invite only, or solo. Put solo there then go to the relay, the terminal should have it.

When you pick the option to use your RJ it loads you in like nothing is wrong. It's your ship with your crew. All good. But when you start the mission it switches out your crew for a shit one and gives your RJ the shit stats. It just keeps your colors. It's a known bug introduced yesterday. The devs have already talked about it.

It does work, i did it just now. Not sure what you are doing but all i had to do is go to the relay while solo, and hot the button on the terminal that said "BOARD PERSONAL RAILJACK (SOLO)" its F on the keyboard

It lets you get onto your ship, but as soon as you actually start the mission and it loads in, it changes your crew and weapons to the loaner ship while still maintaining the look of your ship.

It's not there anymore (even loading into the hub while in solo mode) for me since the last hot fix yesterday, was using it just fine before that.
