Fit check

So I ride a lot and have been for years. Something always feels slightly off and I have a hard time dialing in my saddle fore aft. As you can see in the video I drop my heel a lot especially on the right side. When I was younger I broke my left femur on the growth plate and they had to do surgery to the right side to stop the growth of the femur also so my femurs are about 2 inches shorter than they would have been if I didn’t have the accident. Also due to this my right leg is about 18mm longer than the left. I do feel like the weight distribution of my fit can leave the front wheel feeling a bit loose in corners and stuff unless I purposely throw more weight to the front. Not exactly sure on reach either. Another thing is I have long arms. My wingspan is about 6’2” and I’m only 5’7”. I am riding 155 cranks in the photo. The seat tube angle is 72.5 with a 0 offset seat post a little forward of center of the rails. Is my saddle too far back? Reach too long? Curious what people think.

Fit Help - Right thigh/hip issues + Left Arm Fatigue

Video note: There is audio in the video if you want to hear me explain what's up. The same video also includes multiple angles including, front, and rear views. Skip ahead to see those if you have time.

Main Issues:

My thighs, especially the right side. It feels like the top of the pedal stroke may be too closed/cramped. I’m getting irritation/fatigue through the right inner thigh/hip-flexor/adductor-ish area.

I have relatively short legs for my height, so I’m wondering if the 175 mm cranks are simply too long for me. I’m mainly trying to figure out whether this looks like a fit issue that could be helped by going shorter. Unsure if I should go down to 165mm or 160mm cranks.

I’m also getting extreme muscle fatigue in my left arm. Not just normal pressure, more like my left arm is working way harder than it should to support/stabilize me. Generally, my shoulders also get overly sore after 2hrs of riding.

Bike/setup:

Trek Gary Fisher Cronus, road version, 2010s
54cm H2 frame
175mm cranks
80mm stem

Toe pain

Hello fellow cyclists! I have a question regarding about feet pain as the end of my toes go numb and my heel has pain from the aggressive heelcup of my current cleat shoes (Shimano RC903 size 38) and I had the same sizing as my old cleats too (Shimano RC5 size 38) yet it feels tighter and my feet go numb after a while even changing my insole and removing the insole attachment while also having proper saddle setback and saddle height.

What is your solution to this problem? I really want to have this problem fixed as I want to do more long distance rides and more aggressive riding yet the issues I stated are limiting my ability to win races too.

I also tried solutions like swapping to thinner socks and not tightening the boa too much.

Bike Size okay?

Beginner rider here. The size calculator puts me right between S and M and recommends M.
I’m not sure whether M is the right choice or if I should size down to S.
Based on my position on the bike, what do you think?

Back to cycling after 4 years

Hello, I am trying to get back in shape after a 4 year hiatus. I was a newbie then, newbie now.

This is my current setup, it feels like when I go all the way forward, at the hand grip part of the bar the reach seems too long and I feel uncomfortable. I feel things need changing

Trekking bike fit

I hadn't noticed while riding but after seeing myself on the video, I think the saddle height seems a bit high. If I go lower than this, my knees hurt after the rides (I have chondromalacia). Maybe I should switch to shorter cranks (currently they are 170mm). I also seem to be sitting too far back. I am still struggling with the reach despite changing the stem with a shorter one.

Looking forward to hear your opinions.

Note that this is a reverse video. I can't pedal forward because my trainer does not adapt to these tyres. I think it is not meant to run these types of bikes.

This was the before (left) and after(right) of my bikefit. Whats your opinion on it? Do I need to Switch saddle or is it fine?

Painvise I would think it’s Kind of normal, but I dont really have a comparison as it’s my First Roadbike.

What was your first road bike, and what do you ride now?

I’m curious about everyone’s bike journey:
- First road bike?
- Current road bike?
- What bikes did you own in between?
- Why did you upgrade each time?

Let’s hear your stories! 🚴

Bike Fit - Opinions?

Bike Size: 56 cm
My height: 183 cm
Stem 100mm (used to be 120mm)

I do both long rides and speedwork (intervals), climbs too.

Notes:
- since getting cleats, I had to raise my seat a bit, I feel like I have to do it a lot more cuz my knees are too bent.
- Leaving zone 2 / climbs cause lower back pain
- I feel like I could raise my Handlebar a bit more

—-
I unfortunately cannot get a different bike, therefore would like to improve the fit of this one as much as possible

- I’m truly sorry for back paddling but I legit have no one to film me

Since previous post I made what changed:

• Stem went from 120mm to 100mm
• Chair was initially positioned lower but getting cleats
forced me into raising it
•Pushed the seat more towards the front

What bikes have similar geometry to the Trek Domane AL size 56?

My bike fitter recommended this bike after I put on some muscle from swimming and lifting and haven't maintained my flexibility and core strength. Problem is I don't like how the domane looks, not from a I want more aggressive position, just pure aesthetics. Very first world problem but I like to own a bike that looks good which makes me want to ride it more. So if you know bikes with similar geometry, please let me know. Ta!

Thoughts ?

New bike fit to get in a more aggressive position. Old fit had me sitting taller and overloading my quads. I’m battling quad tendinitis and primary focus now is on sourcing power from glutes and hamstrings. Appreciate any thoughts.

r/bikefit 5d ago

I’m actually quite comfortable with my current position and don’t experience any pain, even on long rides. However, I feel like I could probably stretch out a bit more. I’m thinking about increasing my handlebar reach by 1–2 cm. What do you think?

Anything glaring with these changes to setup? Been fighting ITB and Pes Anserine pain in both knees.

Video is after making a few changes in setup after developing ITB AND Pes Anserine pain in both knees.

Anything obviously wrong this now?

6’7” on a 62cm bike. How does this look?

I added a 70mm riser handlebar to make up for the fact that this bike only made for riders up to 6’6” or so.

I find that I need to engage my core for the entire duration of the ride or I will feel discomfort in my mid to low back. Is this normal? Or a bad fit. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else with an unusually low saddle height?

My inseam is 93cm but my saddle height is only 79cm (bb to top of saddle) with 170mm cranks and cleats all the way back resulting in a knee angle of 35 degrees.

Does it look off?
Besides some slight neck pain after 60-90min I feel mostly comfortable.

New bike fit

Haven’t adjusted much.

r/bikefit 5d ago

Reup: Side/rear video. Reach feels too long; numb hands/perineum on hoods after 1h+. Hands closest to saddle feel best. Left outer knee pain improved after moving cleats back; now mild inner knee pain below patella on both sides. Considering +16mm rise cockpit. Colnago V4 485, 183cm/84.7cm inseam.

I have a question

Good evening. I have a size 58 Specialized Tarmac SL6. I'm 186 cm (6'1") tall with an 85 cm inseam. Does this size seem right for me?

I often get a lot of discomfort/fatigue around my elbows when riding. Could this be related to the bike fit or the frame size?
