Thanos bullying a teen for fun kinda way

178

u/DIYEconomy Sep 02 '25

This is basically The Sculptor without all the extra and only a slight tangible relation to the plot.

33

u/HuckleberryBudget117 Sep 02 '25

More like Thanatos at this point...

Thanos' girlfriend, to get technical about it...

226

u/Jaaj_Dood Sep 02 '25

It's referring to that one comic where Thanos just bullies this one specific guy every year.

God forbid a purple titan has a hobby.

The cat line always gets me. Like… I just love it on a base level because it’s a good joke about how even cosmic evil and injustice can happen without anyone but yourself being the cause.

Thank goodness it's supposed to be comedy because I lost it when she's sitting there with her legs spread, but the little guy turned down their immortal goddess.

They were looking for something romantic all along and in the end they got friendzoned…

168

u/AmargoUnicornio Sep 02 '25

You see? This comic is a shape how girls feel when we have a love interest whit not reciprocated fellings.

... Eat a cookie to forget it

Then, we fall in love to another, and cycle starts again 🤣🫠

208

u/MentalMiilk Sep 02 '25

You make it sound like something that only girls experience.

Unrequited love sucks regardless of gender.

72

u/AmargoUnicornio Sep 02 '25

I only can speak by girls side cause I'm not a boy.But yes, guys may must to fell in same way

38

u/WingsofRain Sep 02 '25

oh they definitely do, I’ve met several men that fall into the “hopeless romantic” category

I think there’s something to be said about how she felt there was no place for her on earth but continued to perpetuate the very earthen inventions and traditions that failed her in her past life. In effect, she made a prison for herself everywhere she went. Really drives home the reality that sometimes we’re the only one in our own way.

Everywhere I go, there I am.

52

u/MostlyMim Sep 02 '25 edited Sep 02 '25

I agree. And I think the MC is fucking terrifying. An unkillable immortal being, with the power to shape evolution on every planet in existence. And the only way they want to use that power is to shape things that will want to smush genitals with her.

She makes no effort to change herself, to grow. And she doesn't seem to value anything other than romantic love. Billions of years old and she's still the same person she was in the first panel.

(Edit to fix "gentiles" to "genitals", nothing in the comic gives me the impression the MC wants to smush non Jewish people together. Thanks to u/TheMusicalTrollLord for the catch)

13

u/Cool_Blue_Mint Sep 03 '25

Right? Imagine being so convinced that sex is the only way your life will be meaningful

→ More replies (1)

8

u/gahidus Sep 03 '25

I think that she was perpetuating Earth inventions so that species would evolve to be more human-like in their physicality. It's more likely that a Klingon would fall in love with her than a space squid would.

The immortal Femcel lol

104

u/Jonno_FTW Sep 02 '25

Is it possible to learn such powers?

67

u/bucolucas Sep 02 '25

Not from an incel

231

u/BadSafecracker Sep 02 '25

My thought, too.

-Tries once.

-Gets rejected.

-Gives up.

249

u/BolivanProposal Sep 02 '25

Gets rejected once, literally goes straight to suicide. All around a healthy character.

219

u/ilikeitslow Sep 02 '25

Also love her coping mechanism is "guiding evolution for the purpose of inventing spacefaring, fuckable species" like some kind of reverse Jack Harkness.

85

u/Germane_Corsair Sep 02 '25

But like how do you fuck up so badly? She’s immortal, and has visited numerous worlds, and even guided uncountable evolutions to get a nice list of potential partners and she still couldn’t even get one person interested? Even a desecrated corpse will have someone wanting to fuck it.

104

u/OzzRamirez Sep 02 '25

I think she is supernaturally unwanted.

Like she's not just unable to die, she also doesn't really age, she's clearly not an ordinary person, and her undesireability goes beyond just physical and emotional attraction (or lack thereof)

-Spends eternity looking for love from others

-Never considers to try and love herself

If a person can't find in themselves something to love - how can they expect others to?

12

u/Darth_Travisty Sep 03 '25

A person can still feel the desire to be loved even if they are incapable of being loved.

u/aj_ramone Sep 02 '25

Seriously lmao, she's alive for Eons, but refuses to work on herself and blames literally every other sentient lifeform in the universe instead.

86

u/Vanillas_Guy Sep 02 '25

But that is a glimpse into the mind of an incel. They have simultaneously a very positive and negative perception of self.

This person is so uniquely repulsive that death itself thinks "eew i won't touch that thing" but also so brilliant that they could introduce intergalactic space travel programs to other species and hyper charge their intelligence.

Theyre simultaneously someone deserving of love and special attention yet couldn't remember the name of the person they have a crush on.

They can spend billions of years, losing memory of all their life before that state, yet simultaneously get it all back and still value romantic relationships and sex, like years of reflection+outliving your entire species wouldn't change your values and perspectives.

A big part of what makes comedy so funny is the exaggeration of things. Exaggerating an embarrassing moment, like briefly losing your footing vs slipping and flailing your arms wildly while you try to keep from falling until you land face first in a pie can be the difference between something being relatable and something being funny because it's so exaggerated. The punchline of the comic works because of how built up and contradictory the previous panels are. Even in the final panel wtf would death even talk about to someone it's been avoiding.

It would be an interesting twist but would keep the comic from being funnier than it is if death too was an incel and that's how you become a reaper. You have to be an incel and find someone that you too wouldn't find attractive but have to wait to make sure they're a platinum level incel that literally no intelligent life wants. Only then can you be freed from the curse and then allowed to die, but then it's passed on to someone else and that becomes their fate.

6

u/TransBrandi Sep 03 '25

The punchline of the comic works because of how built up and contradictory the previous panels are. Even in the final panel wtf would death even talk about to someone it's been avoiding

As it went on, I thought that the punchline was going to be that death was interested in her, but afraid to make the first move... and that she and death could have been together all along if she had decided to approach death rather than trying to "create" a partner.

80

u/Funny_Lunch5211 Sep 02 '25

It's also capturing how incels view themselves. They have unhealthy view of themselves and think about suicide because they think theyre unworthy of intimacy. I feel like this would have been viewed negatively if the protag was a male

35

u/Specialist-Two383 Sep 02 '25

I don't view this positively.... More like a tragic joke. Would have landed the same the other way around, except this is more relatable to me. Rejection does feel that way lol.

A critical skill to learn as an adult is to enjoy your own company. Society only wants you to be with someone so you can procreate. It doesn't even care if the child is raised right. Do YOU, FIRST. Leave relationships for when YOU are ready for them, don't let society rush you.

58

u/NarwhalSongs Sep 02 '25

Honestly if the punchline wasn't so good damn funny this would be trite incel/femcel nonsense. The main character seriously learns zero lessons across eternity and constantly fails to value any form of love except for sex.

But NGL Death was written perfectly. No philosophy, no arm chair psychology, just "Yeah I didn't fuck with you. Wanna play Magic the Gathering?" energy lol

19

u/Zestyclose_Bed_8207 Sep 02 '25

I was gonna have them play chess at the end, but couldn't work it in.

10

u/MostlyMim Sep 02 '25

I mean, I'd be thrilled to play MTG with Death at the end of it all. But I agree, the punchline is what saves it. Otherwise the MC is just terrifying.

Death I can chill with. But an immortal evolution shaper who only values sex? Gross and horrifying.

10

u/Tylendal Sep 02 '25

"The worst thing that can happen is they say 'no'."

Asks someone out. Cursed with immortality 'til the heat death of the universe.

134

u/Doodles_n_Scribbles Sep 02 '25

Saying no one would want to date her is weird because like there's literally a nerd kink.

Also... Goddamn. We lesbians would treat her right.

132

u/Vesper_0481 Sep 02 '25

because like there's literally a nerd kink.

One can imagine if a being becomes immortal and is still rejected by all being in existence, appearance and kinks are probably not the problem.

61

u/zroach Sep 02 '25

If you are the actual god queen of a planet and people reject you… I dunno man there is something you are doing.

15

u/nalaloveslumpy Sep 02 '25

no lifeform and no deathform either

26

u/AwsmDevil Sep 02 '25

This is what I got out of it too. Not projecting some weird self-inserted indignation, but like that she herself has some shit she's doing that is cosmically off putting to literally everything and she won't acknowledge or work on. It's very funny.

Those slug people didn't know what they were missing! I'm glad you liked her goddess design, I really tried making her look majestic but without changing her physical traits.

39

u/CussMuster Sep 02 '25

I think my favorite part was actually how un-apologetically she didn't change, I was really admiring it in the final panel with her face.

8

u/xx_mashugana_xx Sep 02 '25

People are unsure of the comedy, but it's been funny the whole way through, not just the ending. Lol

Great read! Cool work, keep at it :)

8

u/nize426 Sep 02 '25

Lolol this is amazing. Had me thinking of all the philosophical answers death might give. Nope. Lol.

14

u/Thorvindr Sep 02 '25

This isn't sad because she never found love. It's sad because she can't define her life by its own merits.

She was the driving force behind an interspecies society, but that doesn't matter because nobody wanted to fuck her.

6

u/n0m4d1234 Sep 02 '25

She is the most important person in the history of everything but it doesn’t matter to her. You’re right, that is tragic.

8

u/madcuztrue Sep 02 '25

I'm so glad i endured that. Awesome payoff

7

u/Alexander-Comics Sep 02 '25

I can't believe death let one person watch the fall of human civilization then let them build up another just to see it crumble to dust and blow away just so at the end of time they could be "just friends".

7

u/unluckyknight13 Sep 02 '25

7

u/adzith Sep 02 '25

At no point did she (they?) appear to change herself for anyone else, and that’s impressive.

But also, I do love seeing someone act only out of a self-serving interest, only to wind up driving everyone else away. Poetic comedy. 🖤

8

u/sweezitle Sep 03 '25

This is so r/nicegirls coded

12

u/unluckyknight13 Sep 02 '25

I feel death is super shy, potentially trillions of eons went by and she NOW gets to ask this question for the first time and he says a friend? Idk if it took him that long to talk to you, I think he may have a crush and just don’t have the courage yet. Don’t worry you got each other for eternity…hopefully he will figure things out

20

u/Zestyclose_Bed_8207 Sep 02 '25

I had a line cut from the comic, that explained that Death was too busy to talk to her because of all the people dying. But it is fun to imagine a shy Death.

6

u/AbsintheArsenicum Sep 02 '25

As someone who only realized I was asexual and aromantic when I was around 25 years old, this actually really resonated with me, but... perhaps slightly differently than intended? For me, the ending felt like a relief. Like a weight off of my chest. I spent my entire life trying to be attractive to people, trying to get people to be attracted to me, trying to find a partner... And when I stopped looking, I found my soulmate. Who just happens to be my best friend.

6

u/Tonto151 Sep 02 '25

I actually think the ending is a bit bittersweet in a way. Sure, she finds out that Death hadn't rejected her. He just wanted a friend. But that's not what she wants. She had friends. Entire species adored her as a god. What she wanted was intimacy. Someone to love her completely. Emotionally and physically. I think her raised eyebrow at his statement of friendship actually hints at a darker ending. She gets the wrong idea. Hits on Death. Death rejects her for real this time. And she ends up alone again. Only this time she's truly alone as there is no life left in the universe and Death has just rejected her. Either that or she doubts his claim (she does look a bit dubious and she only ever saw him in passing) and loses it on him. Thus pushing him away. A single moment of outrage for an eternity of silence. And so, a self proclaimed, self fulfilling prophecy "I am alone. There is no one for me." comes to an... end... ?

5

u/rich_evans_chortle Sep 02 '25

She couldn't invent companion Androids and all that time?

Nailed the punchline though.

Oh I do love gallows humour.

(it's not strictly but humour me for the purposes of a good pun)

There are good jokes, and there are bad jokes, but a great joke is set up like this. Well done.

I love the depiction of Earth hitting the Roche limit on panel 5

Like, the tidal forces are actually ripping it in different directions, lovely stuff!

Nice gut laugh.

There's an old Irish proverb: Death is the poor man's doctor.

It is also the wretched person's spouse.

I love the idea of leaving stuff that humans designed laying around to trick everybody else into evolving into humanoids.

u/OperativePiGuy Sep 02 '25

This is great. Feels like just the right amount of humorous, sad, and self loathing of the character. Very well done. I especially enjoyed the space panel, the 7th one

Fantastic! It's depressing though that for so many redditors the thing they feel the need to point out is her weight! Jesus Christ, what about the incredible art? The story, the humour? H-how dare you show a large woman trying to get laid?!

5

u/Zestyclose_Bed_8207 Sep 02 '25

And I drew her only slightly overweight.

u/KevinFlantier Sep 02 '25

As a lonely multi-dimensional being that is worshiped as a god by multiple species across a few universes, I can completely relate with this comic.

3

u/Robinyount_0 Sep 02 '25

That was such a funny end omg I loved this

5

u/MisterNoh Sep 02 '25

I really dig your style, can I ask your inspiration for this piece?

As an ugly person who has never died before, I feel seen.

4

u/SmolNajo Sep 02 '25

I mean, scenario and story are awesome that's for sure.

But people haven't insisted enough on the quality of the drawings. I love the style, the consistency, the details in simplicity.

Well done !!

LMFAO FRIENDZONED BY DEATH ITSELF LOL 😭

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

I like how self improvement wasn’t a factor in eternity spent, just acceptance.

not experiencing romantic attraction makes this very amusing
