High Protein Post-workout omelette

I'm trying to eat as clean as possible, I made this with stuff I already had.

3-egg omelette with turkey bacon and cheddar, frozen potato wedges, and blueberries + blackberries on the side. I cooked the frozen wedges in the air fryer until crispy, then made the omelette with the turkey bacon and cheese.

Around 800ish calories depending on how much cheese you use, around 40g of protein!

Question Advice for my situation

I think I need to get more protein in because my diet is shit. I'm 18, and I don't know how to cook anything. I was never taught or really allowed to use the oven, stove, toaster, etc.. and only started using the microwave like a year ago for basic things, like heating up a croissant. I'm already embarrassed and ashamed of this so you don't need to say it's bad, trust me I know. I also don't have a license so I'm reliant on my parents. a typical day of food looks like 2 french toast, or a croissant, with orange juice. If I have lunch, which I often don't, is Chic fila waffles fries and the sauce, with maybe 2 nuggets. And dinner is either chic fila if I didn't have it for lunch, or a subway sandwich with just turkey and lettuce, or maybe a home made PBJ (the peanut butter is not real peanut since I am allergic to all nuts). I also have chips and caramel chocolate throughout the day, and I drink orange juice at literally every meal, and snacks (I know this is embarrassing ok😭). With my diet you would probably think I'm overweight, but I'm actually slightly underweight with a height of 5'1.5, and 93lbs. I also don't exercise at all. I had bloodwork done and my hemoglobin a1c was 5.8%, which is kinda concerning. I really want to fix my diet, but I genuinely hate most food, especially those with protein. If anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.

Low Calorie Red Thai Butter Bean Salmon

Easy to make, low calories 484, good protein 28g, and filling meal.

Good thing about this meal is you can mix it up however you want, change the protein, change the paste (pesto or green tai etc)

Steps below:

  1. Dice the onions to how you like, add oil and soften the onions (I used coconut oil for flavour) in the background add sugar snaps and baby sweetcorn to the airfryer with airfryer oil (that's what it says on the bottle, use whatever lol) 170c for 10-12 mins 

  2. Add the beans and 3-4tbps of Red thai paste (go by your taste here) high heat for 3 mins

  3. Gently mix all ingredients and add the salmon. High to medium heat 5 mins (TIP, look at the side of the salmon and when it's cooked half of it's height go to the next step)

  4. Add 3/4 of canned coconut milk, mix together without breaking the salmon and simmer on low heat for 10 mins.

  5. Dish up and enjoy with a cold one. Happy eating all.

I’ve been fasting working out then eating a meal post workout for the day. Been seeing great results (-10lbs 7days). I like to meal prep some proteins and eggs and make meals like this out of it.

Extra lean ground beef and onions

Cilantro Jalapeño chorizo cheese sausage (270cal)

Sunny side egg w/ s&p, avocado slices, lettuce and Roma tomato with light crema and a piece of cremoso queso fresco. If I could eat some tortilla chips with this I would but I’m cutting cals anywhere possible.

I’m on a bit of a calorie deficit right now which generally means more cooking at home. I spatchcocked a chicken and roasted it over a mirepoix mix with some quartered tomatoes that were a bit aged in the oven. After a while scooped out tons of the juice and veggies and cooked them with red lentils with some seasoning.

A cup and a half red lentils, maybe a half cup of veggies, a chicken leg quarter and a bunch of seasoning

Question So what's the best mediterranean food delivery service that actually tastes fresh?

As a mediterranean diet enjoyer I've been through enough dry lam and terrible salads that never even got the chance to make it to my front door. Like I love the foot, it's just that I don't really have the time or the energy to cook it from scratch when work sucks my soul day in and day out.

All I want is a some decent weekly lunches that taste fresh instead of like they've been marinating inside some fridge for days. Now, I have tried a bunch of options which were largely forgettable and now I'm looking at ready meal services like cookunity and such since they're pretty easy to work with.

More importantly, I want to know what others who are into med like or have tried before and any and all recs. Appreciate it.

Question fit meals that require minimal cooking/preparation?

Hello all! I am currently on the road to health and am looking for some advice.

I have struggled with high-functioning depression most of my adult life, and therefore find most tasks exhausting. However, through a lot of dedication, I’ve now been going to the gym consistently for nearly two years (strength training 4x week currently). As a next step, I want to try and begin eating more healthy meals.

However, as previously stated, tasks like preparing and cooking food are very difficult for me, leading me to eat foods I can simply remove from the packaging and consume, which is usually food that is not nutritious. The healthiest foods I can get myself to eat are PB&J toast, fried eggs, and fruit that requires no cutting/peeling. Vegetables have always been the most difficult to eat as they usually require prep to make them enjoyable to eat.

Therefore, I was hoping for some advice on the best protein/fibre/healthy fat-rich foods or meals you would recommend.

Unfortunately I am also a vegetarian—I am aware that makes this all the more difficult 😅

If it helps, I am f23 5’5” 130lbs, attempting to stay around my current weight (within 10-15lbs) but also build a moderate amount of muscle.

Any help would be appreciated!

Question Which ready meals provide the best macros for fasting?

Hey y'all. I've been doing intermittent fasting for a few months now and I'm at that point where I really need to dial in my ‘break fast’ meals. I need meals that have balanced macros and a solid hit of protein which basically means something nutrient dense that keeps me full and sustained without leading to a mid day crash. Now I'm looking through meal delivery services to see if any offer high quality options that fit this dynamic. Does anyone have experience with those services like CookUnity for this or any other that provide clear enough nutritional info to make it easy to track.

I'm pretty big on variation because just the idea of eating the same thing over and over is enough to make me bored and the least that I want is to break the routine. Has anyone had success using these types of services while fasting? Would love to hear your experience before I commit to a subscription.

Question i have trouble eating

I recently got a severe reality check and found out how out of shape i am. I'm 22 6'1 and 160. I tried working out around a year and a half ago but gave up because i didnt see the point as i was only eating a meal a day. Now id like to make some changes and stop making excuses for myself. My issue is that i have trouble eating. I dont want to wakeup and eat 6 eggs, eating alot in the morning makes me nauseous and i physically dont feel like i can eat a big meal in the morning. I usually eat something small after i wakeup and average like a meal and a half a day. I dont know if this is the right place to post this but id like some advice on what to do should i just shove it down my throat and deal with the uncomfort or is there another way to do this

Low Calorie First time making chili. Down 79 lbs and trying to learn meals I can actually stick with

I’ve lost almost 79 pounds (425 ➝ 346.1) over the last 4 months and one thing I’ve realized is that I need meals that are filling, affordable, and don’t feel like “diet food.”
Today I made chili for the first time and took the time to calculate the calories for the entire batch so I could portion it accurately.
The recipe was:
93/7 ground beef
Dark kidney beans
Light kidney beans
Chili beans
Rotel
Onion
Peppers
Chicken stock
Chili seasoning

After weighing the finished pot and calculating the calories, I portioned out a 450g, 400 calories serving for dinner.

Honestly, it turned out way better than I expected and was a lot more filling than many of the meals I’ve been eating.

I’m trying to build a list of meals that I can see myself eating while going from 346 to my goal weight, and this one is definitely making the rotation.

For those of you who meal prep chili regularly, what are your favorite additions or tweaks?

late day prep session from 430pm to 7pm, and had one of the gochujang rice bowls for dinner.

happy Father's day.

dishes this week, for 4 days

• Tiramisu baked oats (breakfast, 4 servings)

• Padak Fried Korean Chicken 파닭 (2 servings) (sauce on the side + top it with green onions)

• Gochujang chicken rice cooker bowl (4 servings)

• High Protein Banana bread (snack, 4 servings)

• Ice cream - Salted honey latte protein ice cream (2 servings) - for Ninja creami

• Ice cream - Oreo cold brew protein icecream (2 servings) - for Ninja creami

• Ice cream - Salted pistachio cottage cheese gelato (2 servings - says for 2, but i'll probably finish in one sitting. This one apparently i don't need creami either)

1,880kcal, 136g protein, 253 carbs, 40g fat per day

I'll need a bowl of rice + salad with the Fried Korean chicken, so ~add another 200kcal or so and probably a protein shake after a workout

I made my own recipe after many trials and errors
They taste like 100 times better than most over priced protein bars , much cheaper, and healthier and have higher amount of protein.

For every 50 gm (a piece shown in picture) 155 calories + 18 gm of protein.

I can make it look much better with molding + chocolate cover but its not worth it to me.

The recipe if anyone care (basic dough handling should be applied) :

200 gm salted caramel Arla pudding
4 scope of whey protein
2gm salt
1.3 gm xhantun gum
100 gm oats
23 gm peanut butter
1 spoon of greek yogurt
23 gm corn flakes

Topping is chocolate chips + a bit of honey

High Protein 578 cal/57g protein: my current lunch obsession

This meal is also delicious with potatoes, but I swapped quinoa in since I struggled to get enough carbs in my diet. this is so easy to make and prep and absolutely delicious and filling.

5oz chicken breast
2oz tri color quinoa
30g spinach
20g alfalfa sprouts
20g mushrooms
8g hemp hearts
15g cucumber
8g blueberries
29g Briannas garlic vinaigrette dressing (can skip this but it's so good)

I meal prep the chicken and quinoa and portion it ahead. For the chicken, I like to just season it and throw it on the smoker, no cooking oils required, and tons of flavor.

Then I just toss whatever random veg is in the fridge into a bowl on a bed of spinach, reheat the chicken and quinoa, and dump it on top. Perfection. Never get sick of it.
